Andrea Yates was born on July 2, 1964 in Houston, Texas. She was the youngest of five children and grew up in a Catholic household. She graduated from Milby High School in 1982. Yates was involved in many extracurricular activities including the swim team and the National Honor Society. Yates had a seemingly typical childhood and life thereafter that. After high school she continued her education at the University of Houston. She was enrolled in a pre-nursing program and later went on to graduate from the University of Texas School of Nursing. She worked as a registered nurse at the University of Texas M.D. Anderson Cancer Center from 1986 until 1994. (Andrea Yates Murderpedia) Andrea met her future husband, Russell Yates, at her apartment complex in Houston. They were married on April 17, 1993. Several years later they had four children. Acquaintances of Andrea said that she became withdrawn and antisocial following the birth of her children, which led her to homeschool her children. After the birth of her fourth son, Andrea became depressed. A suspected cause of her depression was the influence of extreme sermons by Michael Peter Woroniecki. Through “sermons, videos and personal telephone calls, the Woroniecki’s condemned the Yates' for their hypocritical Christian lifestyle, saying their children were doomed to hell because of their parents sins…the Woroniecki’s also preached that married couples should have as many children as possible” (Andrea Yates). On June 16, 1999, Rusty found Andrea in a state of anxiety. The next day, she attempted to commit suicide by overdosing on pills. She was admitted to the hospital, and prescribed antidepressants. After she was released from the hospital she again contemplated
My conclusion is that yes, Yates is sick, but I feel a strong possibility of her understanding the wrongness of her actions to the rest of society but in her opinion acted in the greater good based on religiously psychotic feeling of heaven and hell which was a foundation of making a decision to take her children’s lives while understanding it was wrong and should have been dealt with by a swifter and stronger hand of justice. My opinion aside this is the conclusion and information brought forth by unbiased research as to the case and analysis of Yates. Only one of a twelve mental health experts who testified concluded that the Yates was legally sane when she drowned her five children in the family bathtub.
In 2001, Andrea Yates drowned her five children in a bathtub in her home. This was very disturbing news. I am a native Houstonian. I was at home that day. The television was on and will never forget the news breaking announcements that broke the story of a homicide in Clear Lake. All the information the reporters had was a mother killed all her children then called the police to report it. The full story and the details that lead to this tragedy did not unfold until years later. It was sad because as details unfolded if Andrea Yates had been treated properly and followed her doctors
Andrea Yates long history of mental illness did impact what she did to her children as well as an outside influence of Michael and Rachel Woroniecki. In 1993 Rusty and Andrea married and a year later they had their first child a son named Noah. They planned on having many children whatever God intended for them. Their five children were all named after figures from the Bible. After Andrea’s first child Noah was born she began to have violent visions and felt that Satan was speaking to her. Andrea kept all her feelings to herself not realizing how much mental illness was in her family because she and Rusty had Bible inspired notions about family and motherhood. Andrea tried to have a fourth child, but suffered a miscarriage. Not long
Elizabeth Griscom was born on New Year's day 1752. Known as Betsy to family and friends, she was the eighth of seventeen youths bound for Rebecca and Samuel Griscom. They lived in Philadelphia. Being strong and relentless Quakers, they were particularly traditionalist. Betsy was completely taught at a friend's Quaker school. It was in this Quaker school that she made sense of how to upholster. With her parent's assent, Betsy transformed into a natural pro in the upholstery shop of John Ross.Betsy soon started to look all starry peered toward at John Ross and they (secretly got hitched) on November fourth, 1773 in Gloucester, New Jersey. Betsy and John ran the upholstery shop together for quite a while. In 1775 John joined the get-together of
Aileen’s modus operandi was very consistent across all of her crimes. She would pick up men as a hitchhiker, usually along I-75 (3). Once in the vehicle, she would tell a sob story about trying to save up money to send for her children (she had no dependents) and ask if there was anything she could do for them in exchange for a little cash. She and the john would then drive off into the woods and settle on what services they wanted and what the price would be. In interviews she
Andrea Yates was a thirty-seven year old mother who committed a terrible crime. As she drowned her five children in the family bathtub, she believed that she was “saving” them. Many horrendous crimes are committed, yet the assailant gets away with the verdict of insanity.

A hero is someone who is admired and valued for their courage, outstanding achievements, and noble qualities. A hero to one person may not be a hero to another. I strongly agree with this definition for a hero to a person is not always a hero to others. In saying this, my hero is Isabelle Bruce Reid because she was the first female to qualify in Australia as a veterinarian. To me, Isabelle Reid was a name in history who changed the world, is valued and is a great role model.
Abby sunderland at ,16 years old, attempted to beat her brothers record of being the youngest person to sail around the world solo. Many people believe that Abby would have never went but I disagree. Abby was more than ready to go on such a journey around the world.

Paulette Jones has been experiencing many changes consistently with her health, which has affected her outlook on life. Paulette is constantly depress and worries if people accept her for who she is because her physical appearance has changed. The person she once was has disappeared. It is very rare that I get to see her happy, outgoing, spontaneous, and adventurous. She has recently visited here in Ga, and many of times I would walk pass and see her looking in the mirror at herself crying. Sometimes she appear happy, however deep down inside I can see her suffering as she wonders why she is on an endless downward spiral of life. It is very hard to look and hear my niece in such disarray on a continuous
Andrea Yates, mother of five children between the ages of 6 months and 7 years old, suffered severe postpartum psychosis in 2001. While her husband was at work, she drowned each of her children one after the other in the bathtub of their home. After doing so, she had noticed what she had done was wring and called both the police and her husband. After the incident Yates was taken in by the police and tried guilty for the death of her children. People today still wonder if she did this out of a mental illness or
Don't you hate it when you check your phone/computer to look at the weather forecast, only to find out that the weather is just the opposite of what you expected? Well, in the show Law in Order, almost the same exact thing occurs. In episode 6, of season 16 of Law in Order, I think Nurse G screwed up - she shouldn't have sterilized Tracy Sands.

Woodruff's best-known work is the three-panel Amistad Mutiny murals (1938) that he did for the Savory Library at
Yates psychiatric history falls in line with her not guilty by reason of insanity plea. Her stress alone from being a “supermom” holds reason behind “people under stress...do not think through the consequences of their actions and thus do not appreciate the wrongfulness of what they are doing” (Slobogin 2003). Yates was documented as experiencing psychosis because she heard voices and saw things that did not actually exist. She believed that a television commercial was calling her a fat pig, a delusional belief that television cameras were set up in her house to monitor the quality of her parenting, that her mother-in-law had a monitoring system in her glasses, that her house was bugged because there was a van parked outside of her house, and
