Anne Frank was a German Jew forced to go into hiding with her family and another during World War II and the HOlocaust. Being Jewish in that time she put her and her family in danger constantly. A month before she went into hiding, Anne was a happy, pretty, and bright girl despite her circumstances. On her 13th birthday (a month before they went into hiding) she got a many gifts but the one that stuck out to her was a diary.
