Keep Tennessee Beautiful. KeepTNbeautiful.org. N.D. Web. 7 July 2015 This website Keep Tennessee Beautiful (KTnB) is an online web-teaching source for recycling. The KTnB’s goal is to encourage “Tennesseans to be more responsible for improving their community environment.” This website offers information to anyone interested in recycling and gardening with compost. There are benefits of recycling, such as bringing new life onto something old. As students of Columbia State Community College, we must be willing to fight for a cleaner healthier campus. We can set an example for the community by recycling. Students can make a website prompting our community garden and recycling center for information on what can and cannot be recycled, and how
Nashville is the capital of Tennessee and the seat of Davidson County. The city is also called the Nashville-Davidson city and is known as one of the 15 best cities in the United States for work and family. The area combines southern America charm with a contemporary urban metropolis. It is the centre of an urbanized area that also embraces parts of seven surrounding counties. The city of Nashville features the topography of rolling hills and lush vegetation, while the downtown urban core is a combination of skyscrapers, renovated historic buildings, and is known for its steady economic climate. Major industries of the area range from healthcare based companies and goods production
Recycling is the process of making new products from a product that has originally served its purpose. The process of recycling starts when used products are disposed in an appropriate, environmentally friendly way. Items made from materials such as paper, tin cans, aluminum cans, plastic water bottles, and glass, which people use in everyday life, can be separated from regular trash and put in an appropriate recycling bin. The United States now realizes the importance of recycling. However, many ignorant people still think separating recyclables requires too much work. Requiring mandatory recycling would prod these individuals into action. Lack of recycling leads to dramatic consequences such as polluting the environment and raising the number of landfills. Delay is critical; time plays a significant role in waste management. The sooner American communities recycle properly the better it will be for the environment and our surroundings. People need to become conscious and take responsibility as a society to protect the earth, keep it clean and beautiful, and preserve the natural resources. The United States can achieve this goal by implementing mandatory recycling.
Many people say that recycling is a waste of time or that they just don't have the time.”Yes it’s popular in affluent neighborhoods like Park Slope in Brooklyn and in cities like San Francisco, but residents of Bryon and Houston don't have the same fervor for sorting garbage in their spare time’(“The Reign of Recycling”). The world needs more people to recycle no matter where they live. It seems that even if more people have started recycling things have not changed much.”While it’s true that the recycling message has reached more people than ever, when it come down to the bottom line, both economically and environmentally, not much has changed at all”(“The Reign of Recycling”). People need to work harder to make a change that will account to something. The goals are being set higher and higher but with little success. ”While politicians set higher and higher goals, the national rate of recycling has stagnated in recent years”(“The Reign of Recycling”). This rate has ceased to flow. If something changes how people feel about recycling then the nation may be able to meet its
Nestled in the Smoky Mountains, Gatlinburg has become an area that East Tennessee State University students go to visit. Gatlinburg offers something for many; however, the city has some growing pains such as traffic and limited space. Thus, the city of Gatlinburg offers many things that a traveler could need and want, provided that he or she is willing to overlook the city’s rapid growth.
According to FBI 2010 UCR report, there was fifty-five homicide death reported, it’s second highest in the state of Tennessee after Memphis. Losing someone who we loved through homicide would be one of the most shocking experience, In my life period I haven’t experienced any homicide which includes my loved ones, I come from the peaceful neighborhood, since I was the child I grew up in a peaceful environment, there was low violence but minor, dangerous weapons such as guns, biological weapon or even swords were rare. I’m thankful for the way I was raised, grew up without knowing crimes, drug, weapon, etc. But when I hear news about homicide I envision how would my life change If I lose my loved ones, especially my father because men are more likely to get killed in homicide than women. It’s always strange feelings when the person was with you yesterday and today they are not here. Shared plans and dreams are no longer there, all lefts are the memories which were shared with a dead person. Deaths are sudden no one knows when we’re going to die but dying from another human being puts more grief than other types of death. My father is basically bread winner at the house currently, so there would be many effects in our day to day life. My reaction would be the same reaction as when someone lose their loved one 's specifically father. In this type of situation, I will try to calm myself and call the police as soon as I can, I will give much information to the offices as I can, I
Me and my family always go to Tennessee during break. Have you ever been to Tennessee before with your family? We would do lots of other things if it was summer because it would be warm. Me and my family enjoy everything in Gatlinburg. We go to a lot of the same places when we go.
As the Community Relations Support Team Leader, I helped with an initiative to bring composting and recycling to the Vinton, Iowa campus. I wrote an article to promote the initiative in the Vinton Eagle. This
Many people go through their day not even thinking about recycling and what it can do for our environment. We, the school, could absolutely benefit from a recycling program. So many people think that recycling is a waste of time and how the energy it takes to recycle is equal to the amount it takes to simply throw your trash away. They don’t actually think about the positive effects it could have to the school. This is why putting a recycling program in Mount Juliet High School can not only help our environment as a whole, but can also help us see the reality of what recycling can do.
In order to keep the planet healthy recycling should be made mandatory for all of Colorado. III. Establish Credibility: In order to learn more about how recycling can benefit us, I looked into the policies already in place and found that Fort Collins has a really well established system; One that could benefit if it were put in place for all of Colorado. IV. Thesis and Preview: Colorado should adapt its recycling policy to one similar to that of Fort Collins in order to save the health of the earth by preventing pollution and conserving natural resources.
The UF/IFAS Extension office serves Sarasota County by providing programs that foster educational opportunities to enrich the lives of our county’s citizens and provide a strong foundation to the structure of our community. The Extension offers classes, demonstrations ,and professional speakers in the areas of Agriculture, Families & Consumers, Food & Nutrition, 4-H Youth Development, Lawn & Garden, Landscape Professionals, Natural Resources, Community Development, and Sustainability. The Extension’s program agents also sponsor volunteer programs, such as community gardens, and manage the master gardener volunteer program. The goal of the class that I assisted with was to provide free education to registrants about composting, including
One of the most prominent issues in the American society is not an economic or social problem, but the lack of recycling in America and the effect it is having on the environment and the people. This lack of recycling can be found in businesses and schools across America who could benefit from some sort of recycling program installed. The benefits of a well placed and organized recycling program can be endless from scholarships to the benefits it can have on the environment by saving trees and reducing the space need to dispose all the trash. South Caldwell High School is one of these schools across the country that is at a loss because of its lack of a recycling program and many other schools and businesses in Caldwell county are not reaping
Setting is the time and place that occurs in a story. Setting is very important to a specific work because without a setting the story would be extremely difficult if nothing ever happened to the characters. Besides, the most fundamental segment that impacts a story is the setting. The setting is the memory in which the story happens, which combines the time, the spot, and the social environment. In the story of a good man is hard to find, the story starts in Georgia when a family argues to go to Florida but then the decided to go to Tennessee and the story ended when they got shot by the misfit somewhere in the
Bringing the "GatesburGoGreen" to communities across the United States could be a daunting task, but would our hard work benefit future generations to the extent of being worth it? This is a strong thought to consider. Although recycling is a little costly, its already a popular and easily persuadable trend.
The reasons why we need recycling at school and the area is because with recycling it can make so many things out of bottles or cans even milk cartons too. These resources can make cars buses and houses, trash can make that . The recycling area makes a lot of things and you might think it’s gross but it’s better then putting it in the ground of the earth. You think it is no difference with no recycling but there is and it’s with pollution, all the trash put in the ground it’s still littering and littering makes pollution you probably already know.
recycling campaign. The only way to do that is to help make recycling appeal to more of the vast student population that currently attends our University. How might this be done? The University already places a recycling bin in every dorm room around the campus; anything more would exceed the current funding for the recycling project. Perhaps the institution of a recycling center at the Russell House could cause the impulse to become a habit. But, that would take too much money--with the salaries of workers and the annexing of what would amount to a new wing of the building--to consider for too long. Another solution could be to have the students elect a "recycling committee" to evaluate the problem and decide on the appropriate solution. However, I feel that with the current lull in our recycling campaign, even that would be ineffective. As an altrenative to these two solutions I propose that we, as students and faculty united, institute a plan that is so simple it is already in place in many of the high schools around the state. I propose a system of rewards.
