To keep things simple, people simply want to be heard, and they will do anything in order for their audience to listen. There are various ways in which the speaker would gain the right to be heard. Former Governor of Louisiana, Kathleen Blanco, uses various forms to obtain attention from her audience as she addresses the Louisiana Legislator on Hurricane Katrina where she not only discusses the effects of the hurricane but also acknowledges the people who have helped out so far.
“He gave the term “complete” a new meaning. He made the word “superstar” seem inadequate. He had about him the touch of royalty." This was a quote stated by former commissioner of Major League Baseball, Bowie Kuhn while speaking during Roberto Clemente’s eulogy. When baseball season came around in seventh grade, my coach of the Lakeland Copper Beech Middle School team, Fabrizo Morejon, explained that he wore the number 21 in honor of his childhood hero Roberto Clemente. He seemed such an advocate of this man that it gave me a strong motive to research and to find out who this man really was. When I began to read all about him, I found that his career was not just filled with spectacular baseball achievements, but even more so was all about
When I grow up, foods becomes popular especially processed food. I stayed alive and healthy because of those foods. Although now that I am more knowledgeable about foods, I realize that I do not need those food to survive. What I consumed everyday is very toxic and very unhealthy. We consider Beyonce as our hero because she leaves a great impact on the music industry and teaches women and girls to not be ashamed of themselves. She also gives an image of self love and respect by not being ashamed of her body. Beyonce is the type of person that actually admits that she isn’t perfect and by doing this it gives something other people can relate with . This makes her of a more realistic hero to them. The ESPY Awards is an annual award ceremony in which awards are presented to individuals to recognize their achievements in both sports-related performance and high character outside of sports(Rothman). At the 1993 Espys, Jim Valvano or “Jimmy V” delivered an acceptance speech for the Arthur Ashe Courage Award, a speech that moved the audience to their feet. Just nine months prior to speaking, Jimmy was diagnosed with a severe form of cancer called Metastatic Adenocarcinoma (V Foundation). It was evident, by the way he spoke, his time on earth was quickly coming to an end, in the way he spoke and the stories he told about those he has met through his life. During the speech he referred to not knowing how much time he still had on earth before cancer took him for good (V Foundation).Jimmy V argues the idea that one bad thing life should be able to hold you back from being a strong and outgoing individual. Please believe me when I say, I think of all of you every day, no matter what I’m doing or where I am.

When I was a kid, my super hero was Superman, I kind of admired him because I thought it would be cool to be able to fly and to have super-human strength, but the main reason why I liked Superman is because he helped people, no matter what.

After the NFL he became a pastor, and soon stared giving motivational speeches for people all across the world. He has given a countless number of speeches but his “How Bad Do You Want Success” speech is what brought him great exposer. This speech took place at Michigan State University, intended for a group of college students. He was brought to do a motivational speech on success and how to be successful. The three main points he stressed throughout the speech were having heart, sacrifice, and dealing with pain.
