Is it okay that animals are being used for zoos? Are they really supposed to be their? These animals can't survive in zoos forever, their being taken away from their real habitats. They’re being used for money, entertainment, and publicity. Zoos shouldn’t exist because they’re harmful and not safe for the animals, they use them like they’re in the circus and for advantage, and they use them for their own lives. Animals are not being saved by being in the zoos. They’re making them go crazy and wild because they’re behind glass it’s like prison for them. Whenever I go to the zoo I would say to myself, “What if I was in their how would I feel?” They are not at their real home people should speak up and help those animals to get back home. They don't deserve to be their it’s the worst place that they could ever be. Those animals need more space and more freedom and space to be free and move around. But the zoos can't give that to all of the animals can they? These animals need their homes and families back but they can't get that anymore it’s all gone. Their never going back their they can't see their families and friends. Animals can get trash and items thrown into their cages and could choke, swallow, and eat those things and etc. And also those things could get stuck around there necks in their fur or even on their faces. These animals have a big risk when anything is thrown in. And they could choke and if nobody notices it then they could die in a “snap.” Zoochosis
Zoos may seem fun to visit and exciting to see the animals; but what you don’t see is the suffering and depression that lies in these helpless creatures. There are many arguments whether or not zoos are good or bad, and if they should be removed or kept. Several think that zoos should be abolished or at least very much improved, due to animal cruelty. While, others want zoos to stay because it is beneficial for the animals and people. I strongly believe that zoos aren’t good for both the public and animals for numerous reasons.
About it. Some people believe that the zoos are bad for animals. In my opinion animals need to be free and were taking it away from them. There sad being locked up in a cage.
Many animals live miserable lives in zoos that do not take care of them properly. Most animals lie in barren cages until the day they die for public amusement. The pain that these animals go through is inhumane and just not right. ”In article , “Zoos:Myth and Reality” by Rob Laidlaw and “Zoos Connect us to Our Natural World”by Mike Hutchins both authors present their view on the state of zoos in the United States and Canada. Although some zoos are accredited vast numbers of zoo animals continue to endure lives of misery and deprivation which means zoos do not have animal's best interest in mind.
Are zoos and aquariums helping or hurting? Do hundreds of thousands of happy onlookers make zoos justifiable? Is it acceptable to keep animals confined for our entertainment?
She claims that while zoos are not necessary for education, the “educative message delivered by zoos is, at best, distorted and, at worst, damaging to the cause that the zoos purport to champion—that is; the conservation of species.” Because she does not consider the educational opportunities and programs that zoos and zoological parks can offer, so her opinion on these establishments is unfavorable. However, by offering a wide variety of programs and opportunities, zoos create a unique experience for their visitors. If the animals are under proper care, there is no reason for society to believe that zoos are “cruel and
There are animal preservation groups that don’t require putting these wide ranges of species in captivity. Their sole purpose is to help injured animals or species that are going extinct, and release them back into the wild where they belong. I think that zoos should be abolished unless they change into sanctuaries where injured animals are taken in, helped, and released back into the wild immediately. Zoos would still be allowed to do this in front of public eyes. Animals should never be held captive and “research” is never an excuse. Animals can be researched while in the wild where they are in their most natural and happy state. Zoos do not do this. Zoos claim that they are helping animal species when in reality they’re hurting them and torturing animals to the point of depression and insanity. There is no justification for shooting animals when they act up because they shouldn’t be in those situations in the first place. Animal instincts should not change. Wild animals aren’t meant to be ‘tamed’ in order to provide entertainment to the public. Most zoo visitors say they don’t take away any real connection afterwards so zoos really don’t have any righteous or moral
There have been a lot of problems with animals in zoos. It has gotten to the point where zoos are hated and looked upon as a places of animal torture. Are zoos really that bad? Turns out, they are. They do not have enough space, they do not allow the animals to communicate with each other, and they sell the animals to cruel circuses.
Animals are in these hurnedess environment that are hurting their life style. First of all zoos don’t that much room so the animals can’t play or run. Animals like Zebras and gazelles are not treated how they are spouse to. In zoos situations because they were designed to run and across miles of terrain.
Keeping animals in zoos is a long-discussed ethical issue. Some people argue that keeping wild animals in zoos is reasonable, however its intolerable. The animals might be treated poorly. They are taken out of their natural habitat, put into a completely different environment and confront species of animals which they never encountered when they were free. The zookeepers don’t know how to take proper care of the animals. Keeping animals in zoos is unethical because, they can die of stress from seeing humans, they’re endangering species, and the keepers aren’t capable of taking care of them.
Some people agree that animals should be kept in the zoo. They said it would be safer for the animals and they won’t be extinct. The amount of possibilities of them dying, shot by hunters or any other reason, still higher than the chances of their survival. Food and shelter are provided, medicine, and their breeding is being controlled. And many of the wild animals in zoos are ones that are on the endangered list as their amounts are rapidly diminishing. Letting them loose and returning them to the wild is not necessarily a safe option. (Mylot, 2007) In fact, zoo can be one of the educational studies for children and people who are interested with animals. Zoo is the only place that we can have an opportunity to see animal’s life really close and sometimes we can touch them. Zoos also provide lots of information about certain animals, children can have chance to get out of the classroom and learn so they can see natural beauty from different species of animals. Even children can see them from discovery channel but that’s really different if you see animal in real world, for an example, if you see crocodile, snake or shark in the movie, maybe you won’t afraid than you see the real one. According to Tudge, (1992, p.56) Zoos are the place where people can study animals and their habitat, even scientist don’t need to go
Are zoos good or bad? For many animals zoos can be horrible like for an elephant named Maggie. Maggie would have been a happy elephant if she was let into the wild. One day it was too cold for Maggie to go outside so she had to be trapped in a small uncomfortable and cramped cage. Maggie wouldn’t even use the elephant sized treadmill that they had gave her. According to the article Zoos the Historical Debate “If Maggie and other zoo elephants lived in the wild, they would wander as much as 30 miles a day in large groups, grazing on leaves and stopping to splash in watering holes.” This is why zoos can be bad for animals and why I am against zoos. Just like Maggie the elephant, there are many zoos who can harm animals or make them unhappy.
If you live in America you are probably one of the 175 million people who visit zoos each year. You have probably visited the zoo with your families to look at the extraordinary animals that they keep. You are not the only one to do so, but you have been tricked by zoos to believe that the animals in their care are properly cared for. The truth is for 24 hours a day, 7 days a week animals in captivity are forced to spend their time confined in a “cell.” The precious animals that you fall in love with are deprived of everything that makes their life meaningful. Keeping wild animals in zoos should be prohibited because the animals are not properly taken care of, they are not in their natural environments, and they are proven to have shorter life spans in captivity.
These animals are not experiencing the feeling of living in an open natural place, although zoos make every effort to expand, it is still not enough to compare with the open vast wild where animals once used to live. For example In the wild elephants walk about 30 miles a day in herds, in zoos they don’t get enough space for their 30 mile walks and only get a couple of other elephants to be with. This is unnatural and unfair.
Keeping animals locked in cages, bored and cramped up in such a small space is an awful sight to show the children. It creates an image in the little minds of children that animals are to be treated like they don’t matter. They say Zoos are a place where children can learn about the wild, exotic animals, but in reality it doesn't teach them anything only that they are meant to be caged up, which is wrong. Also, it is really painful to see the animals bored and lonely, so why should people keep letting them do this to these beautiful creatures. Animal captivity for entertainment should end to let them go to their rightful home.
Zoos might help with protecting these endangered animals, but it turns their mind into something else. When animals get moved into these small spaces and caged to be viewed by hundreds of people, that might drive them a little mad. Even though zoos try to give animals enough room to roam, fly, run, climb and
