An argument essay allows the readers to understand how a writer feels about when writing about a specific subject. The challenges that come with when writing the essay are which position does the author side with, and how will he/she be able to support their position. There are many things that I take into perspective when writing an appealing argument essay. The key points in writing the essay are to convey my ideas about a claim by providing detail support and sparking interest and enthusiasm to the readers.
The topic I chose for the argument essay revolves around the idea of should we limit the use of genetic engineering. The purpose as to why I was confident in picking this topic was that I have a vast knowledge in this area because of previous biology classes I’ve taken that required me to wrote essays about genetic engineering. …show more content…

The structure of the argument follows a simple pattern, which starts off with mentions the claim or thesis of the argument. In my case, the thesis would be that genetic engineering should be limited due to the amount side effects that arise after the modification. Following the claim, follows three paragraphs all representing each point that supports my opinion. The points will be arranged by having the weakest support in the first paragraph and the strongest in the last paragraph. The opposition will be included in the last paragraph because the opposition will make the argument stronger when I use the details and facts from the support to prove that the opposition is invalid. In order to make my essay persuasive the use of both ethos and logos will both be primarily used to provide statics, studies, and a creatable source to support my claims. The use of pathos will be used but not in an incredible amount. I believe the only time I would incorporate pathos would be the in the last paragraph when I'm stating my strongest
