The mother reported in 2014, the parents went to court for child support. Ms. Vidov reported that David had been accepted into Friends School and afterschool activities. She indicated that Mr. Dean was not providing support for the children and she was paying all of the children expenses. She indicated when they went to court Mr. Dean claimed that the children were living with him and she saw them once or twice in nine months. She indicated that Mr. Dean made false allegations in his petition to court because he did not want to “pay child support”.
In February of 2015, Sofia was placed in afterschool program. She indicated that Mr. Dean would sign her out of the program and then take the child back to be picked up. The mother stated despite
Misery, abandonment, and no love, how can one let a child grow up with thoughts so negative running through their minds? Children are removed from their homes, forced to live in strangers houses, and expected to behave like they live in a stable living environment. All this is occurring so fast, that they can’t process their situation and feel like they don’t have anyone in the world that loves them. Although our nation claims to be doing the best they can with child welfare, the entire program has focused their efforts on removing children from their homes instead of focusing on the child’s emotional needs. Mr. President, we need to fix this issue now because children are the future. When a family is torn apart because allegations of abuse, neglect, or financial issues, placing a child in foster care, rather than trying to fix the problem, can only further damage a child’s well being.
February 16th, 2018 approximately 1302 CSW Anderson arrived at the residence of 2149 Farmcrest Drive, Arnold and met with two female occupants later identified has Angela Whitter and Judy Laube. The home belongs to Judy Laube where Judy Laube said she lives there with her daughter, Angela Whitter, and Judy Laube’s’ friend, Denise Barnett. Judy Laube said she is currently receiving food stamps and other benefits from the state where she does not have financial difficult to aid with Mrs. Whitter if Tyler were to move in. Mrs. Whitter too, receiving other benefits from the state and does not have a financial concern to place Tyler in their care. Mrs. Whitter added that she can enroll Tyler in the Fox School District where the bus is accessible and the school only two blocks away. CSW Anderson inquires the separation of Mrs. Whitter and Tyler; Mrs. Whitter specified that the day after the wedding her ex-husband (Carl Whitter) move to Ohio and left her to stay with her in-laws (Diana & Alan Whitter) and Tyler. Subsequently, Mrs. Whitter and the in-laws have an argument where Mrs. Whitter moved out and left Tyler with the in-laws. Mrs. Whitter then added, due to her mental and physical disabilities at the time, it was best for her to leave Tyler with the
These statistics are overwhelming. After being removed from their family and placed in an unfamiliar environment, these children became a behavioral health concern. The inadequate government policies set forth to protect children scarcely graze the requirements for children’s overall health.
Child support is by far the most common thing in America. Families which include both parents are slowly dying out. Although raising a child in a single family home might be easy to some, it is actually pretty stressful for those who aren’t financially stabled. I could go into many details and situations regarding child support due to the fact that my siblings are either on the supporting side or the one who needs the support. Child support is a very big deal to me because I do feel that if the other parent doesn’t want to be in that child’s life then the least they could do is give money to the care giver so that child is not going without, especially in the infant stage.
Laws in most states mandate that reasonable efforts be provide to families who become involved with child welfare agencies. Social workers, on behalf of the agency toil to provide reasonable efforts to families. Presumptively, reasonable efforts are provided for families to mitigate the issues that brought them to the attention of child protection agency.
The reporter stated there was an incident when Mrs. Sterling sent a 15 year old boy that Briana wanted to go to homecoming with text messages about her breast. The reporter also stated there was an incident when Mrs. Sterling dropped Briana off at a party she was not invited to because the host did not want to deal with her mother. The reporter stated Briana knew the owners of the home and she was not injured or harm while attending the party. The reporter stated Mrs. Sterling has been witnessed grabbing Briana’s hair, yelling, screaming, and threatening to hit her with a belt when she doesn’t perform her gymnastic stunts correctly. Ms. Barbay stated Mr. Sterling comes into the home drunk and Mrs. Sterling will call the children in a room when the parents are about to fight; the children have to stand in the room to watch their parents fight. Per the reporter, during the fight, Mrs. Sterling will have the children call their paternal grandparents for help. The reporter stated Mr. Sterling’s father is best friend with a local judge in the town that sweeps the family’s dysfunction under the rug. Ms. Barbay stated Mr. Sterling’s father has stated in the past that neither one of the parents deserve the
It is estimated that one in six of the world’s children are working in unacceptable conditions and that's about 180 million children worldwide (Kilcullen 218). That is a great deal of children that are exposed to harm or exploitation. The opposing side believes that these poor countries need child labor to survive, that it is alright to pay children low wages for the work they do, and do not believe that schooling is as important as work. By regulating child labor laws, governments would be able to enforce safer working conditions, increase wages to meet the cost of living, and mandate education for better opportunities even though the opposing side disputes these reasons and stance.
The United States is the only country among 41 others that does not legally stipulate paid maternity leave, which leaves this legislation at the discretion of the individual states (Livingston, 2016). Currently, parents in California are covered by California State Disability Insurance, and receive 55% of their salary for six weeks (“About Paid Family Leave (PFL),” n.d.). California is one of four states that supplement the national Family and Medical Leave Act of 1993, which guarantees unpaid maternity leave for 12 weeks (“Why So Few Women Take Maternity Leave | Time.com,” n.d.). It is my recommendation that the California House of Representatives vote to pass bill AB-568, an assembly bill that allows public school and community college employees fully paid maternity leave.

Teachers have and will always have a big impact in everyone’s life and if not everyone, well, at least they did for me. They teach you everything you need to know about a subject and valuable life lessons, so why are they not paid sufficiently enough to make a decent living? Teachers salaries have always been low and I believe it is the time that changes. Being a lawyer, doctor, or engineer is great, but none of that would be possible without the insight of a teacher, I will inform you in this paper on why I believe there is a need for action. I will go over the background of teacher’s salaries, my ideas on what would be best for teachers not just in Texas, but nationwide, and pros and cons on the issues and ideas at hand.
In the United States, public schools get their funding from their respective state. As a student, it can be seen as concerning when one compares how much states spend on their schools. Many schools are inadequate in both an aspect of safety and effectiveness of the learning environment. As a result of inadequate subsidy across America, schools resort to taking drastic measures. Not only are the unequal sources of subsidy a difficulty, but the concept and execution of budget cuts also exacerbate the issue. In order to give every student in America equal opportunities for success, funding should be controlled by the federal government with a policy that enforces equity rather than equality. This is also a viable option that could be carried
Child support payments are designed to help the custodial parent meet the basic needs of the child or children after the couple have formally separated. After the child support payments have been set by the court system, the non-custodial parent is required to make timely payments. Failure to make the payments as outlined in the court order will result in fines or jail time. If you need to adjust the payments, you must go through the courts system.
Child labour is a big problem around parts of the world it tears families apart and causes serious scars for kids physically and emotionally. The course of action I have chosen would be to
as different. Being raised by only one parent seems impossible to many yet over the decades it has become more prevalent. In today’s society many children have grown up to become emotionally stable and successful whether they had one or two parents to show them the rocky path that life bestows upon all human beings. The problem lies in the difference of children raised by single parents versus children raised by both a mother and a father. Does a child need both parents? Does a young boy need a father figure around? Does the government provide help for single parents? What role do step-parents and step-siblings play? With much speculation, this topic has become a very intriguing argument. What people must understand is that properly raising a child does not rely on the structure of a family but should be more focused on the process or values that are taught to these children as they learn to mature. Children of single parents can be just as progressive with emotional, social and behavioral skills as those with two parents.
When did you start working? Most likely your late teens or maybe you have never even worked. Well, many people do not know is that children throughout the world are currently working at the age of 5. In fact, there are 152 million victims of child labor today (ILO). Child labor is a prevalent issue globally, which needs more attention as many of us are supporters of it without knowing. We all love chocolate, computers, and most dearly love our clothes. Well, major companies such as Microsoft, Nestle, Tesla, and H&M manufacture products using child labored goods. These labor-ridden children are being held back from achieving their dreams, which clearly are not to work in factories or farms for minimal wages. Thus, to unleash the full potential of these children we as a community must come together and end child labor. As a global citizen I would like to begin this project of ending child labor, by stopping the direct funding of child labor ultimately coming from us. Thus, a boycott of child labored products would be a way to raise attention not just in our communities but also to these corrupt companies. Next, I plan to work with the community and various project organizations to accumulate support and increase education and schooling in rural areas where child labor is predominant. A solution to the lack of education in child labor areas can lead to a permanent fix for generations to come.
