Chemtrails is a conspiracy that everyone has been thinking about, and has been getting more and more paranoid for. Conspiracy theorists have been coming up with theories ever since the late 1900’s, and are still coming up with them today. These theorists have come up with many different theories about this conspiracy, Chemtrails, some think that they are chemicals sprayed to help the human race survive, some say that Chemtrails are to help protect the earth from global warming, and some say that they are a gel like substance that makes people ill, and the government would do this to help with depopulation, and to test a new bioweapon for war, but it could, and most likely is just airplane condensation from planes flying in the upper troposphere.

When you look up at the sky and you see these weird straight lines that are behind jets those are called chemtrails. Chemtrails are created when a jet engine is releasing hot, humid air into the atmosphere that is cold and has low pressure, the result is these white lines that you see come out of the jet. To break it down the jet releases water vapor and when it’s coming out of the engine it quickly condenses into water droplets and then turns into ice crystals. The ice crystals are the lines (clouds) that are forming behind the jet engine. Some people believe that they are something chilling.

After earning his PhD, Molina continued researching chemical dynamics at the University of California-Berkley. In 1973, he left to do research on the effects of chlorofluorocarbons (CFC) on the atmosphere. CFCs are made up of carbon, chlorine, and fluorine. They were being used in aerosol sprays, air conditioning units, blowing agents, solvents and refrigerators. At the time, CFCs were believed to be harmless to the environment as it was nontoxic and was inert at sea level and in the lower atmosphere. However, previous research had shown that it accumulated in the lower stratosphere.

Clouds to form in the atmosphere have to have water vapor present. This water vapor makes up a cloud. The water vapor in the atmosphere comes from evaporation or deposition. Also the temperature of the air is below the dew point. When the water is fully saturated, it starts to rise and the expansional cooling process begins. During the process of condensation, the aerosol particles act like a nuclei in the atmosphere, which began to grow, creating ice crystals that are big enough to produce a cloud.

Contrails are normal because when a plane travels at a very high altitude, it compresses the air into water vapor or ice crystals through jet engines which then eventually evaporates. These chemicals are broken down by the ultra violet rays from the sun ultimately breaking down into chlorine and bromide molecules which are responsible for the destruction of the ozone layer.
