According to the author Alan Gomez who wrote an article on the USA Today website news, President of the United States, Donald Trump has reported that had made an announcement of considering ending the Deferred Actions for Childhood Arrivals Program, also known as DACA. DACA was created by the former President of the United States, Barack Obama back in 2012, but the program also created through a memorandum from the Department of Homeland Security. DACA was created to allows two-years stays for certain undocumented immigrants who entered the country before the children age of 16th birthday who have attended school and others who never committed any serious crime in their own country. Undocumented immigrants who are eligible will received a renewable two-year period of deportation protections and they also allow to have a permit to work in the United States. For those who are eligible, Barack Obama tells them that they are a Dreamer (Immigrants illegally who brought to the United States as a child and whose lives will be upended). There are still a total of 1.9 million undocumented immigrants who are eligible to apply for the DACA program, but many have not yet. Immigration has been a burning issue lately, particularly after Donald Trump’s immigration ban in the United States of America. It has been a topic that families discuss every morning with breakfast. Despite many concerns related to immigration, it has several positive benefits that mostly outweighs the negativity. People bizarrely argue when it comes to immigration, but these arguments are primarily based on facts and ideas that are outdated or inconsistent and blindfold the positive aspect related to immigration. Many immigrants in the United States are good workers who don't depend upon any public welfare and mostly help in the overall development of the economy. As a country made by immigrants, we must not forget the fact that immigrants have helped to build cities and create a path of development form Google to iPhones (Gray & Furman, 2012). These facts are secluded, and some related arguments with different content have been repeated for years and continue. Immigrants have a lot to give the United States rather than to take, especially when it comes to economic terms.
In early March of 2017, President Trump wanted to put an end to DACA. According to Michael D. Shear and Julie Hirschfeld Davis, he called an “amnesty-first approach” and urged Congress to pass a replacement before he begins phasing out its protections in six months. Some of the 800,000 young adults conveyed to the United States illegally as children who were qualified for the program, Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals, will end up eligible for deportation. Mr. Trump and Attorney General Jeff Sessions, who declared the change at the Justice Department, both used
Put yourself in the place of an undocumented immigrant or a family member. Would you then advocate for amnesty? Amnesty, which is a pathway to citizenship for undocumented immigrants, has been a very controversial topic that has been debated since the foundation of the United States. People argue against amnesty because according to their sources they take jobs from American citizens. They are violating the law of the United States and they live of taxpayer dollars. Should illegal immigrants be granted a pathway to citizenship? Yes, they should because illegal immigrants will stimulate the economy, most illegal immigrants are otherwise law abiding and the amount of illegal immigrants in the united states
84.3 illegal immigrants or 27 percent of the overall population are here illegally and are trying to find jobs. One of the biggest problems in the United States is immigration as the American citizens in order for us to help those who come over here for a better life. A great way would be that Congress should pass a law for illegal immigrants to be grandfathered in to citizenship if they have been productive citizens for at least 10 years. Granting citizenship to undocumented immigrants would create jobs and increase tax revenues. Immigrants are taxpayers, entrepreneurs, jobs creators, and consumers, but the immigration system are broken and in need of an overhaul.
The walls are caving inside one’s hiding place and all one hears is the screams of their cherished friends being brutally assaulted by law enforcement that is suppose to be our protectors, who turn out to be the devil hidden in the flesh. One could nothing, but continue to hear the screaming and pray that the terror does not find him or her. One continues to cower under fear and wait for the sun to rise again to live under fear for another day. Each day goes by with one always looking behind his or her shoulders wondering if they, immigration, are coming for them and are the people, he or she trusts, will sell them out.The thoughts of abandonment, fear, and betrayal are constantly running through the families that do not have a piece of paper,
According to West, in the last fall would be hard to think Republicans and Democrats working together to fix the immigration system. However, now Democrats and Republicans announced their support of a bipartisan reform solution. Since the Senate is going towards action, House Republicans think the country should be open to immigrants, and the President Barack Obama is giving priority to the immigration reform. Thus, the country seems to be close to solving this important issue. Even there are still many steps to overcome; there were some changes in the politics of immigration reform in the past few months for instance in 2004, Romney got only 27 % of Hispanic Vote, down from Bush's 44 %. The poor performance of Republican Mitt Romney in the
The issue of Immigration is a controversial debate that is currently being argued between many Americans regarding undocumented immigrant rights. This issue is significant because Americans and undocumented immigrants living in the United States face a problem everyday which is violence. Undocumented immigrants have and deserve rights including the rights to work. They are not being treated with the equality and freedom that America promises therefore undocumented workers should be allowed to work unmolested.
Even though the reform should be passed there are also some things that immigrants should do to show that they are willing to do whatever it takes to be accepted in this country. The main thing they should work on is to learn the primary language of the U.S, which is English. Immigrants need to prove once again of what they are capable of. Even if immigrants are in a really good percentage of speaking English they still have to work harder. According to Julia Beckhusen one of the journalists in charge to collect information for the U.S Census Bureau,“The majority of the Mexican immigrants (close to two-thirds) do not speak English well.” This seems to be a big problem among the immigrants. Why is it good to learn the language? “English-speaking
Immigration is what has made the United States what is today. The inflow of immigrants, both legal and illegal has changed the demographics of the United States and it has an enormous impact on the social, cultural and economic of the country. However, the immigration system of United States has always been an issue, especially when it comes to the education system for the undocumented immigrant students.
There are major things debated in the presidential election every day, but the biggest one is immigrants. Immigrants should be allowed to come into the US and be able to work and live here. Immigrants shouldn't be forced out of the country because they fled in. We should shelter them and let America grow. Removal of immigrants have spiked to half a million in the last decade. But even though their efforts we’ve had a whopping 2 million immigrants come to America in the last decade shows Undocumented Immigrants Taking Jobs From US Citizens? By Cristina Silva.

My grandma was a single mother raising three kids in Mexico. My mom being one of those kids as well. My grandma wanted a better life for her children and herself, so she had to make the ultimate sacrifice which was leaving my uncle, aunt, and my mom with their grandparents in Mexico for almost six years. She crossed the border illegally by hiding in the motor of a car. They had to customize the car so she can fit and lie down in a “U” shape for almost three days without food or water and endured the blazing heat and freezing temperatures the desert provided. She had wires constantly electrocuting her and was dying to have a sip of water. At last when she made it into the United States, the people that helped her over here allowed her to stay
