Should marijuana be legal
Many people ask the question should marijuana be legalized. Some people think it should be some people not as much. There are four reason marijuana should be legal . One reason marijuana should be legal because it can help our economy grow. Since Colorado legalized marijuana it has created 18,005 full time jobs and about 2.4 billion dollars to the economy last year. Colorado will also be saving 12-40 million dollars simply by ending arrest for marijuana possession. Thats a lot of money that can be saved and use on other things, like getting schools new book, giving hospital more up to date equipment or just making more homeless shelters. So if marijuana became legal it wouldn't just be a good thing for all marijuana smokers but it would also be good for the kids, people in hospital and the homeless people. With the increase of money coming through the state jobs might begin to raising minimum wage. Who wouldn't want to get pay more money exactly nobody everybody want some extra money in their pocket to treat themselves their kids or just that

Marijuana has proven medical benefits. For example, investigators at Columbia University published clinical trial data in 2007, showing that HIV/AIDS patients who inhaled cannabis four times daily experienced substantial increases in
Growing up, I’ve always been taught that drugs are bad, and my parents have always told me that there is nothing good to them. I remember taking D.A.R.E in fifth grade, learning how marijuana was bad for you and that you should go to jail if you use it. My teachers and parents were my role models though, so I took in everything they told me as a fact, until now. Now I realize that drugs are a good thing. Drugs are a way of life, and they are used by millions of people everyday. There are drugs such as advil, which is used to help patients who suffer from many things, including headaches and fevers. But the drug i’m talking about is marijuana.
Marijuana has been used in religious ceremonies or for medical purposes for thousands of years. I have always been against the use of Marijuana up until four years ago when my husband at the age of twenty seven underwent invasive surgery on his knee and has never been the same since. Colorado took a huge step several years ago legalizing marijuana for medical use and in recent years took the plunge to legalize it for recreational use. Marijuana is not always a bad thing nor is it always a good thing. A lot of people will compare it to any other mind altering substance and have very valid points. I would rather have a loved one or myself smoke marijuana or ingest it, instead of popping pain pills or other harmful substances put on the market by the pharmaceutical industry; Recreational use can be safe and accepting if it is regulated correctly and used responsibly.
The idea of marijuana as a medicinal has been a very controversial topic but the reality of it the benefits greatly out way the risked if used responsibly by the right people and should be legal to help these people. Currently cannabis is being use in some states in the U.S. as a cheaper and possibly more effective method of treatment compare to off the shelf pharmaceuticals. Many professors would agree with such a statement such as Lester Grinspoon, MD, Emeritus Professor of Psychiatry at Harvard Medical School when he wrote an article published in the Boston Globe: "Doctors and nurses have seen that for many patients, cannabis is more useful, less toxic, and less expensive than the conventional medicines prescribed for diverse syndromes
My goal is to prosway you to follow in my belief that marijuana should be for recreational uses, but with restrictions like alcohol and tobacco
In recent years, marijuana has been at the center of a hot debate (Ferner 4). The prohibition of marijuana, first effective in 1937, was based on myths and bad scientific information (Nathan 2). Prohibition has caused millions of dollars to be thrown away on jailing people for using a substance safer than alcohol (Ferner 3). Even in its illegal state, marijuana has been proven to be an effective medicine and is already medically legal in a few states (Szalavitz 2). Legalizing marijuana could produce many positive benefits, both medically and monetarily.
For the past few years, Marijuana legalization has been a great debate on a national scale with people pointing out the flaws that come with recreational use and others insisting that the information regarding marijuana’s risks are incorrect and have been distorted. In reality, it’s not only the position one takes that really matters, it seems to be a matter of who has raised the most money for their campaign. Evidently, the people in favor of legalization have an advantage because they are “financed largely by national organizations” as stated by Kirk Johnson in the article “For Marijuana, a Second Wave of Votes to Legalize”. He discusses the problems that come with such an issue and how money is easily effecting it.It seems to be turning
In today's age, the use of cannabis is commonly shamed upon. It is generally acknowledged as the “gateway drug”, meaning it opens doors to more lethal drugs. But should the use of cannabis be looked down upon? Many who are familiar, and study cannabis, actually propose that it can be linked to good health. Being cannabis can actually be linked to good health, it isn’t as lethal as one unfamiliar with the drug many be accustomed to believe. Other recreational things are a lot more deadly. So that brings the question: Should cannabis be legalized?
“I wasn’t supposed to be smoking weed but it easy to get ahold of and harmless. So it was more of a ‘why not?’ situation,” Daiga said. While Daiga was growing up, her parents and some of their friends smoked very openly around her. She knew that marijuana was illegal, but she never viewed it as a bad thing.
I think weed should be legal because people with pain problems need to smoke weed to feel better. It’s more of a pain distracter than a pain killer. It changes your mood and other factors that can take your mind off the pain. It can also help with many diseases such as glaucoma and even slow the spread of cancer!
Marijuana has been found to alleviate symptoms of serious diseases. Asthma, glaucoma, and muscle spasms are just a few. It has also been proven to help a
Marijuana should be legal because it doesn't do that much harm compared to tobacco and alcohol. It also is helpful to people with terminal illnesses. However; Marijuana could be considered a gateway drug. It could lead to doing drugs such as crack and other hard drugs.
Nearly all medicines have toxic, potentially lethal effects. But marijuana is not such a substance. This is why On November 8th 2016, citizens of California voted to pass “Proposition 64”, which made it legal to grow marijuana for personal use, yet It is not until January 1,2018 that marijuana would be legal for recreational use. Now, The federal government should do the same. The reason it is truly necessary to legalize marijuana is because it boosts the economy, creates jobs, lessens the chronic pain associated with many illnesses, is a safer adult alternative to most painkillers and it is less dangerous than other substances that are legal today (Alcohol, Painkillers). We believe that if a law should be created to mandate marijuana it should
The big argument is if marijuana should be prohibited to human use. If so, which form and to what circumstance? Marijuana is becoming legal all over. states are already legalizing it for recreational use. more than half the states have legalized it for medical purposes. Hemp has been being used for years in human history to make long lasting things. some of the first paper was made from hemp in egypt .
Do you think people that smoke a lot will get addicted to it? Marijuana is very helpful in ways and can also be harmful, it will get you really high, and make you pass out. Therefore, Marijuana should be legal.
