Everyone knows the quote: “don’t judge a book by it’s cover.” but it’s still important for a book to have nice cover. After all, that’s the first thing you see and that’s what makes first impression. If a book has a plain boring cover there's less chance you're going to notice it in the shop. The cover has to be eye catching, so it will stand out even in the biggest pile of books. The design of Geek Girl has cute teenage girly vibe to it. you can already tell what kind of book it’s going to be based on the cover. cover shows the closeup of a girl wearing glasses. there are different mathematical equations and doodles all over her face. It’s also really bright and colorful every book has different color. Also it feels good to look at it and have it in your room. Also as well as interesting bright cover the book also has little geek glasses next to the page number at the beginning of every chapter which I find cute and makes me love the book even …show more content…
Harriet is a geek and knows many useless but interesting facts like : “the average person laughs 15 times per day” or “peanuts are an ingredient of dynamite.” The book starts with Harriet being forced to go to a fashion event with her best friend Nat. After a few incidents Harriet gets noticed by agency and offered a contract. The book has unique characters like Harriet herself crazy socially awkward self proclaimed geek, Harriet’s dad who behaves like 3 year old kid well actually just a typical dad, Harriet’s agent Wilbur who loves to give people weird nicknames like baby panda and sugar kitten, Harriet’s colleague girl who only wears orange, shaves her head, has a pig as her pet and calls everyone sweetheart just to get attention.
This book is not serious at all. It's a bit exaggerated, dramatic and extreme although not entirely unrealistic as it is partly based on the author’s own childhood. The book more like a fairy tale, even at the end of the book Harriet compares herself to ugly duckling and cinderella.
This is a fun book to read with moments like harriet climbing under the table when she gets anxious and meeting the love of her life, an octopus trying to kill Harriet during the photoshoot and destroying
The book I am reading is a mystery genre kreepy klowns of Kalamazoo by Johnathan Rand. There are 196 pages in the book. On Amazon someone said”This book is great”. It’s a good book if u like mystery and I think the age range is like 7-12.
The font of the text on the front cover, and throughout the book for that matter, is in an untidy scrawl that is both important - in that it is in a bold font and is a demanding colour (either black or white) - and is informal, imperfect, personal and human - in that it is handwritten. These aspects combine to show the picture-book

The Junie B. Jones series, written by Barbara Park, follows a lively school girl on her journey through life. As most kids are, Junie B. Jones is a little bit naughty at times. Her bad behavior earned Barbara Park a spot on the Top 100 Banned/Challenged Books: 2000-2009, therefore robbing children of the opportunity to enjoy an entertaining book and to learn a valuable lesson through the lovable main character.

My book is Stung by Bethany Wiggins. The book is about a girl named Fiona who wakes up and has a mark on her wrist showing that she is different, but she’s even more special when she’s the first one who has ever had the cure and never been a beast. But she doesn’t know what is going on. So in the book she goes to figure out who she really is and what has happened in the world. The author uses many things to accomplish things in the story such as, symbols to show what are the major objects in the story that play a role in the story, another thing was flashbacks to give background knowledge to explain what the characters knows and to make them understand, and the last part was description. The description makes the writing more in depth making

There is no doubt that certain books children read are made especially for boys or for girls. Like any developmental form of entertainment, from toys to movies, children's books are often littered with hints that dictate whether they were originally meant for male or female enjoyment. Sometimes these hints can be as simple as the specific gender of the main characters, for example Carolyn Keene's Nancy Drew series calls for a female audience while the extremely similar yet sexually opposite Hardy Boys mysteries fall into the hands of boys, yet other times more important factors decide who the book will best be suited for. Gary Paulsen's Hatchet and Katherine Patersons's The Great Gilly Hopkins are books for a boy and a
There are many different ways to attracting a person to a book, and one may ask what those different ways might be. Although an author can attract a reader based on the title of a book, or the opening sentence, but a good book uses literary devices such as figurative language, diction, syntax and much more which is all based off of style. In the Adventures of Sherlock Holmes by Arthur Conan Doyle, style is used throughout the whole book and contains on a lot of details which makes the novel both compelling and pleasurable to read.
