Fans, comic enthusiasts and TV experts weigh in on the TV series 'Arrow' and 'The Flash' in the wake of the build-up for the upcoming movie, Batman vs. Superman.
Danny C., an obvious Arrow and Flash fan, wrote Portal Apocalypse writer Rob Bricken, 'why do we still need Superman and Batman'? He pointed out the high points of the superhero characters of the Arrow and Flash. He thinks Flash is a better superman, because he has a savior complex, but is not 'god-like' as Superman is. He says Flash is fast and strong, but has physical and emotional frailties, which are not present in the Man of Steel who he says is too high on his own power.
A story on io9 weighs in on why there has to be a Superman and a Batman despite the growing popularity
The CW tv show The Flash displays many examples, of logos pathos, and ethos throughout its streaming. The emotion of the show is greatly seen through the main character while logic is expressed by all characters through their plans and ideas, ethics is also seen by the occupation each character. This tv show has many examples of the rhetorical appeals, these elements bring the show together as a whole.
The main factor that tells me that Superman is a better Superhero is that fact that he actually has powers whereas Batman has to rely on money. Superman has many powers such as: Extreme strength, invulnerability, heat and x-ray vision, super breath, and flight. Batman on the other hand, has no powers and without his billionaire status, would
Through the analyses of the superheroes portrayed in Miller’s, The Dark Knight Returns and Alan Moore’s, Watchmen, …. Jointly
Many people argue that the Marvel universe copied DC’s the Flash created in 1956, but I am the opposite in believing that these two characters are completely different. These characters are similar in many ways but they come from different places, each have their own unique powers, and have different purposes in their world. If you are one who believes that these two characters are the same, my goal by the end of this paper is to prove to you that these two are actually two completely different heros.
“It's so cool to star in a new show, now that you've already connected with the fanbase, with Arrow and with The Flash,” Routh said. “They've been really fantastic and supportive.”
Since the beginning of time (particularly beginning in the 1920’s), comic books have always been a creative reflection of what’s going on in popular culture. Comic books tend to perfectly depict animations that relate to current politics, historical events, and current social issues that we face every day in the United States. Comic books cover a wide range of pop culture genres such as: adventure, horror, crime, mystery, romance, westerns, and humor (just to name a few). However, comic books also discuss serious American popular culture issues but utilize superheroes (such as Spiderman, Batman, and Superman) and villains (such as The Joker, Dr. Doom, and Lex Luthor) as the main characters; which fascinated the youth and thus resulted in a popular, successful, and booming comic book industry.
Although Superman is unable to be controlled or contained, Batman is much to unpredictable and goes well outside of the law to get what he needs. Superheros are the fictional embodiment of all of our greatest aspirations, they are also a symbol of hope and give families a lightness in times of hardship or struggle. Sometimes people need something to take their attention off of everyday things. From the day we are able to walk, people want to run, but what happens after we run? We want to run faster, jump or even fly. As people we naturally want to be able to do more. Since we can’t do these thing that we all dream about doing, people write and tell stories about people that can do the things we can’t.
Pop Matters is a credible and trustworthy website because the author of this article, Richard Giraldi knows about the topic well and found other sources that support his claim such as other comic books, fan views about the Superman and Batman battle, and uses quotes from other Batman and Superman graphic novels to use as facts for his claim. Furthermore, the authors of the Batman and Superman graphic novels stated why there was a battle between those superheroes, which proves why Giraldi’s statement is not bias. Pop Matters is a news website for films, books, and music and the articles are based off of
In this dissertation I will discuss how DC Comics have developed and improved the design of their comic books since their establishment in 1937. I will compare comics from past and present and talk about the different styles of comic books that have been released from the company. I will also talk about how the artwork from the comic books have influenced character and costume design in recent DC Comic films. I will do this by studying the history of the company and researching the designers behind the comic books. I will thoroughly research in detail the characters and the designs of their costume and equipment and compare them to the different films that have been released over the years. The main character I will look into is Batman. I will study the origins of the character, the man behind the character, the reason behind Batman’s creation, how he has changed over the years, the development of other characters in the series, the famous villains that Batman has had to face, the different costumes he has had over the years and I will also be researching and studying how Batman has become a national icon in American society, and the effects the character has had on people living in the country. Batman
Everyone likes superheroes, they save the world what seems like everyday. Everyone wants to have these heroes abilities and powers, but, there are some people (like myself) who wants to know who would win between different heroes and villains. People will always want to know who would win and in this case Hawkeye or Green Arrow. These archer superheroes are sometimes overshadowed by the better known superheroes, but, new shows like Arrow, Supergirl, and The Flash and new movies like civil war, the soon to come infinity war, and the rest of the avengers movies, these two are finally getting some recognition. Clint Barton A.K.A. Hawkeye is the smack talking, acrobatic, archer of marvel, he is one of the founding members of the avengers and has
Roven recently spoke to ComingSoon, where he commented on how the TV Flash is different from the DCEU Flash.
In conclusion batman the 1939 may satisfy you till this very day , but the new batman may satisfy you even more. As many sought to change this crime fighting vigilante, most have failed, but throughout many versions of our Batman, one thing definitely remains and that is Justice will always be served. Is batman a hero of gotham or menace to the D.C
The DC flick Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice stayed true to its title, as the movie introduced the first five members of the Justice League and ended with a hopeful note as Ben Affleck’s Bruce Wayne asked Gal Gadot’s Diana Prince to help him seek out other metahumans. However, the one character that got more screen time was Ezra Miller’s The Flash, who also appeared in Bruce’s dream sequence with an urgent message.
Of course we had to save the best for last. “Arrow” is one of greatest shows of our generation in its respective genre. I could write 10 pages, maybe more, just on how great of a show this is. It essentially started everything the CW is doing with superhero shows. It helped create the spinoff of “The Flash” and “DC Legends of Tomorrow”, which features many characters brewing from Arrow and Flash. The main thing “Arrow” did was get fans excited about superhero shows again. Since “Smallville”, one of the most successful live action superhero shows ended, fans did not think they would ever get another show like it, but they found a replacement in “Arrow”.
Now in these days everyone one likes to read comic books since they became part of our society. What makes them interesting is how entertaining they could get giving us different points of views on different stories of superheroes. Many of us believe that “Classic superheroes stories are wildly fun, suspenseful and exciting” (Tom and Matt Morris) forgetting the idea of what really makes a hero. Different perceptions of superheroes are considered based on their wrong actions and way of thinking. Frank’s Miller Batman: The Dark Knight Returns is one of the comic books that make us “rethink the conception of the superhero and press each of us to reconsider some of the fundamental moral principles
