Insidous. Who never watch that movie? If you watch it carefully, you might recognise that the story focuses on one main plot, which is the idea of people to travel through the spirit realm and see horrible yet amazing things such as the creatures and the environment there. But, how do we know that the idea to travel through the spirit realm is true and realistic? It was such a heated debate between paranormals when this idea came out. The truth? You can still reach the spirit world. In addition, you probably need to do some hard practices to learn to enter the spirit realm, but that doesn’t make it impossible. The ritual to do that have been commonly called “Astral Projection” by some people. Astral Projection, a very risky and deadly ritual should not …show more content…
It is everyone around you, who take the consequences of the ritual. Any spirit can posses and take control of your body and mind, even the evilest ones. They’re searching a new “medium”, so that they can be brought back to life and hurt them who are still alive. What’ll happen if the spirit wants to attack people around you? I remembered watching a TV show titled “Masih Di Dunia Lain” about people being possessed by haunting spirits, that the spirit scratched and kicked the TV show host, causing the host to be badly injured. Can you also imagine, if the spirit posses your loved ones, seeing your loved ones screams and acts crazy, or even attacks you? The Exorcism Case of Maria Rossi is a very good example to further explains my explanation. Exorcism is basically a religious or spiritual practice of purportedly evicting demons or other spiritual entities from a person that believed to be possesed. this famous story was adapted into a movie called “The Devil’s Inside”. In the exorcism process, Maria Rossi committed a triple murder, the victims were the priests, who performed the exorcism. By doing this ritual, other people are indirectly in
Consciousness is a state of awareness. This includes a person’s feelings, sensations, ideas, and perceptions. There are many different states of consciousness.
Numerous factors determine when and why you feel tired, full of energy, and hungry. A person's state of consciousness and awareness varies throughout the day and depends on a person's activity, environment, and time clock.
Espiritismo religion had spirits that was healing widespread across world regions. Their ritual forms appeared in local and popular regions as wells as a variety of organized churches. The aspect of the ritual such as identification of spirits and use of symbols and paraphernalia, vary with culture and type of religion, appears to be the basic components of ritual healing process shared in diverse forms. Indigenous healing practices carried out by spirits mediums are widespread in the contemporary world. Many such practices are basic to traditional tribal or popular local healing cults, while others are integral aspects of highly organized religious.

This paper is about my experience with mindfulness based meditation and scientific inquiry of these experiences. Mindfulness based meditation is describes as technique used to cultivate nonreactive, non-judgmental and stable awareness of the present moment (Garland and Gaylord, 2009). The end goal is to sustain this meta-cognitive state for a long period of time. I practiced non-denominational form of mindfulness based meditation for the first time in my psychology class, which was devoted towards intellectual and experiential examination of meditation. The practice was conducted in a group it was instructed by our own professor and it begun at the end of class. There was one sessions per week and each session was structured meaning it was
Hypnosis is a natural state of mind that can be used for many purposes, in different settings. Nowadays research in the field of hypnosis and associated areas has blossomed and there are valuable evidence that hypnosis has real and measurable affects on both body and mind. During this essay I will be describing what is hypnosis including what the psychological and physical aspects of hypnosis are, further I will be discussing the role of relaxation in hypnotherapy.
The best part of a long, hard-working day is when you finally get to lay in your bed, close your eyes and let your imagination run free. As you sleep your mind takes you to another place far away from the real world. You begin to dream. Over the night, you may have several dreams. In the morning, you may wake up and wonder what your dreams were suppose to mean for you and your life. By analyzing your dream, it "gives a true picture of the 'subjective state'-how we really feel about ourselves-which the conscious mind cannot or will not give" (Wietz 289). In order to find the meaning of a dream, you have to pick out the most important symbols and define them. But you may be wondering what exactly is a symbol?
To many people, dreams are the thoughts that occur while sleeping, having almost mystic qualities. For millennia the significance of dreams has escaped even the brightest of philosophers and intellectuals. Many people have speculated about why people dream and what meanings the dreams have but in recent times two theories have gained credibility in answering those questions. The first theory is Sigmund Freuds and the other is known as the cognitive theory of dreams also known as biological determinism.
Psychodynamic theorists believe that demanding parents might play a role in the development in this disorder. People with this disorder might consider their environment to be hostile because of their parents consistent and unreasonable demands. Some cognitive theorists believe that people with this disorder have broad maladaptive thoughts of people, such as “people will harm you if given the chance.” Biological theorists suggest that this disorder might have genetic causes.
There are many facts that are unknown about the mind. For centuries, philosophers and scientists have tried to understand how it works. We have learned that the mind has a number of different levels of processing. Before Sigmund Freud “nearly all the previous research and theorizing of psychologists had dealt with conscious, such as perception, memory, judgment, and learning“ (Hunt185). Freud brought forth a number of theories that dealt with “the unconscious and its crucial role in human behavior”(Hunt 185). The unconscious is a storage area for information that is not being used. It is also the home of “powerful primitive drives and forbidden wishes that constantly generated pressure on the conscious mind”(Hunt

Antonio and I are doing our best to respect the Nigerian culture. There is a lot of cultural differences between Nigerian culture and American culture sometimes it can be very confusing for me and Antonio. Did you know that half of the religious beliefs here is Muslim and the rest is split between Christianity and indigenous beliefs? There Constitution guarantees religious freedom; however, Christians live in the southern parts of the country where as the Muslim live predominantly in the northern parts. Native religious people believe in deities, spirits, and ancestral worship are spread throughout Nigeria. One day I was passing a nearby village where I witnessed a possessed man with a demon inside of him. They brought him to the village spirit doctor, where he chanted some spells while holding him down to cast the demon out. It was to believe that after all of that the man was relieved from his demon. It was scary and interesting for me to watch the exorcism being performed. Although, Americans do those things too Christianity is the dominant religion. Instead of seeing a witch doctor for help with your demons, most people would just confess their sin to a pastor or father of the church after which they then walked away feeling forgiven and blessed. Which is basically way easier and less
