What most intrigues me most about the career
This discipline i choose for my career field description was structural engineering with is a branch of civil engineering. Structural engineering focuses on the framework of structures and designing structures to withstand the stresses and pressures of their environment and remain safe, stable, and secure throughout their use. In other words, structural engineers make sure that buildings don't fall down and bridges don't collapse. Structural engineering is among the oldest types of engineering, dating back to the first instance of tree branches being lashed together with vines to make a shelter. Throughout history, people have been designing and building increasingly larger and more sophisticated structures, from small huts to the International Space Station.
The career I chose to undertake as my profession is that of a mechanical engineer. Why do I want to become a mechanical engineer? Well, for starters, I would be able to design, build and possibly repair many various machines and other technologies that are complex. These technologies can range from being already in use on a global scale to new, futuristic designs that are highly technical. Also, this career includes being a sort of jack-of-all-trades, where I would possess knowledge in mathematics, physics, etc. Finally, this career offers me the chance to expand outside my immediate area since mechanical engineers are well desired around the globe as well.
A career as a special agent right after college graduation investigating arson, explosives, firearms alcohol and tobacco, may sound far-fetched, but a presentation to students on Sept. 27 from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, ATF for short, was there to prove otherwise.
Some of the most prevalent disadvantages to an occupation in this field are the hours necessary. As a CPA with a large accounting firm I would expect a typical work week of 40 to 50 hours. But, during the tax season, January through April, it could be as many as 70 hours per week (S. Westfield, personal interview, August 1, 2008). Since I have already been employed within the accounting industry for some time now, my family and I are used to the long hours and fluctuation during busy times.
After an hour long talk about this career I became very interested in this because
Have you ever thought about having a job that was just completely perfect for you? Like, it fits your personality perfectly? Well, being a DEA agent is mine. I love the thought of it. And I plan on telling you everything about it. And take my word for it, it’s pretty interesting. And that is exactly what I want to be.I’ve been reading about this career for a long time, and it seems pretty interesting. I can tell you about the job, the wages, the requirements, and the risks and some
It’s 3am, in a dark, abandoned building. There’s dirty children’s clothes and toys as if they have been there for months. An investigation by the FBI has led authorities to believe that a man has taken 7 year old Jackson that has been missing for 37 hours and is currently hiding out. As the SWAT team gets in position and waits for the signal. The FBI agent gives them the signal and the SWAT team bombards the building and quickly puts the suspect on to the ground. The FBI agent takes a look around. They found nothing. They heard just a little noise and started looking in place that seems impossible. They started moving couches and chairs and there it was a secret a door. As they open the door and go down the stairs they see not only Jackson
Hello, My Name is Danielle Odom and I am a freshman at Valdosta State University. I want to be a forensic psychologist. For starters, I have always known that I wanted to do something that dealt with psychology due to my family’s “mental” state. It was not until my 11th grade year that I realized I had a passion for forensic psychology. There are a multitude of reasons why I want to enter into this career. Aside from the fact that forensic psychologists are financially taken care of, they also are able to get to the root of major crimes by talking to convicted felons and seeing why they committed the crime, this very sentence alone is the main reason why I want to enter into this field. Forensic psychologists are able to ask questions like:
I started doing research about this career and I knew it was perfect for me. What I Knew For the most part, growing up I was always interested in the human body.
“I feel sorry for the person who can't get genuinely excited about his work. Not only will he never be satisfied, but he will never achieve anything worthwhile” (Walter Chrysler). Deciding on what one wants to be in life can prove to be a demanding task. There are so many, yet limited, different opportunities in the world to have an excellent career and make a decent living while doing something one loves. It is limited because there are only a few specific career paths that someone could take to make good money. It is very difficult to make a fulfilling living being a garbage man. There are many different opportunities because, within these specific careers, there are usually various paths to take. Someone who has dreams to be a
I interviewed Officer Greenlee, who is a close friend. She works as a Correctional Officer for the Peoria County Jail, I interviewed her while we were on duty on Saturday, April 16th.
If I do become apart of the FBI my duties are to gather information, interview people, search records to unlock a new clue, and more. It is possible for me to go undercover to reveal more clues. Most of my work is done on computer so I will definitely need technology background. I watch people's schedule. I watch them when they ar home or leave to go somewhere. I do need to know the law well though because I have to follow the
Realizing the career that would be right for me. Would likely be a private/criminal investigator. Seeing that I am motivated and committed for a job like this it can become a widely problem-solving, communicational career for me. I’m willing to use my skills to help others in need in the criminal field. Pursuing this career it would allow me to always have something exciting happen daily and always be on my toes. Therefore, this is something that interests me a lot and I know it would be fun for me. As a private investigator, it requires much of schooling, ways to make sure you are a problem solver, and helping people with their cases of criminals and more that can get away from the trouble they had caused.
Typically, when someone hears ‘medical field’, automatically you think of people with white lab coats and a stethoscope around their neck ready to take your vitals. Obviously this comes to mind because these doctors and surgeons are the face of the medical field, but in reality there is so much more. There are actually about 300 different occupations one can have in the health care field. A large part of that is nurses. Nurses are the basis of the medical field; they are almost as important as the patients themselves. They have always been a major part of our lives. Nurses have been with us since we first opened our eyes, from birth to broken bones, nurses were there. They have very difficult and extensive careers, they dedicate their lives to their work and to their patients. Some nurses spend long nights away from their family and friends to help others, at times their shifts can last as long as 24 hours. In my opinion nurses are the real super heroes, for this reason I have decided to pursue a major in nursing. I still have a lot to learn and many years of schooling to go, but personally its worth the wait.
