Did you know that more people are becoming vegan because of the positive effects it has on the environment? For years I have witnessed the vile death of my family and now it is my turn to accept the same fate as they have but I can not stand for this cruel act. Many turkeys are dying because of this cursed holiday and I shall not stand for it. I believe that you should not kill turkeys are any other weak and innocent animal because of its negative effect on your body. It can cause diseases in your body and can cause harm to the environment. Hopefully, after explaining my reasons to you, you and your kind will soon see your wrongdoing and finally help the world become a better place.
First of all, turkey and many other types of meat can give you types of diseases. There are so many diseases that are known to you humans, such as E. coli, BSE, Salmonella and the list goes on. Would you really risk getting these diseases just for one day a year in which humans kill billions of innocent animals just for the sake of "tradition"? There are substitutes for meat and they cause less damage than eating meat. Imagine how healthy you would be without that dangerous meat in

People claim that they kill to keep balance but there are 7 billion people in the world, don't you think that could use some "population balance"? In an article from Scientific American, it states "He adds that, despite hunters’ claims that hunting keeps wildlife populations in balance, hunters’ license fees are used to “manipulate a few game [target] species into overpopulation at the expense of a much larger number of non-game species, resulting in the loss of biological diversity, genetic integrity, and ecological balance.” Almost 46 million turkeys are eaten on Thanksgiving, reducing our population each year. We play a valuable part in your environment, why on Earth would you kill a valuable piece to keeping your environment in good
Hunting is a common activity all around the world, and if performed properly, can have many benefits to us and the rest of the planet. The art of hunting has been around since the beginning of time. Living off of the land used to be a necessity across the world, until the mass production of food came along. In America, people do not usually need to hunt to survive. However, the population of animal species needs to be controlled. Too many of one type of animal can cause a drastic change to any ecosystem. Food supplies decline quickly, leaving many animals without food. Hunting can help keep the population of a group of animals at a good number, making the lives of the other
Introduction: Duck hunting, stereotypes aside, is a civilized and principled sport. From the 18 March – 12 June is this year’s annual duck hunting season. It is not just every man for himself, in fact there are a lot of rules that need to be taken in place during duck hunting. Here are some behind the scenes of this recognised form of entertainment.
Apparently not! Some families would prefer having chicken or beef tamales for the main course. Others prefer stuffing a chicken filled duck inside of the turkey. Not my family. We eat ham and turkey as the main course. We pour Pepsi over our ham to add sweetness. Ham is our main course because turkey is to dry for us
But I wouldn’t try to impose my choices on other people. Consuming meat is one’s choice but where we buy it from and how they treat the animals, that’s one thing we can change. After watching the videos, no one would feel comfortable picking up meat from their local grocery store. Yes, as human we deiced to eat other animals (after all its survival of the fittest) but there are much more humane ways of going about it. Many religions use clean, swift cut through the carotid artery and other veins (like Halal meat for Muslims) rather than breaking the neck of a chicken and leaving in paralyzed or shoving rod in a turkey.
Many Ravens will likely root for the Denver Broncos to knock off the Carolina Panthers in Super Bowl 50.
Many people who think that the way that we treat animals in the process of raising those for human consumption are wrong never stop, to think what they can do to stop this problem from further occurring. Furthermore, they make impassioned calls for more “humanely” raised meat. Instead to soothe their consciences they shop for “free range” meat, and eggs; which has no importance. Even if an animal is raised ‘free range” it still lives s life of pain and suffering that all ends with a butcher’s knife. Although many know that over 53 billion land animals are slaughtered each year for human utilization they still tend to eat this meat with no problem. The simple explanation is that many don’t care what happens to animals as long as they are eating and healthy. If they did care then they would what could be a difficult choice; to go without eating meat and selling it in any form.
There are many rules that are ordered by the Game and Fish Commissions. For example, the amount of tags a hunter is given to kill a certain type of animal. This means that by law they are only allowed to kill no more than that number. In Arkansas, hunters only get two buck deer tags. (AGFC) The amount of tags helps the Game and Fish keep the populations alive and not going extinct. Although PETA thinks hunters are just killers, they repopulate species just as much. There are many hunters that capture animals to breed. Once they breed, Wildlife Officers relocate them to a safe area where that animal is stable to live. A statistic shows that in 1900, 100,000 wild turkeys remained, as of right now there are over 7 million. (Hunters against PETA) However, the growing population can become a threat in many instances. Female Deer (does) are over populated in Arkansas. I think any driver should know that by the amount of dead deer on the highway that has been hit. Situations such as this one can hurt or cause damage to people. Since I am quite familiar with black bears, I know how dangerous an animal can be. Every year, people die from animal attacks. If these animals were not killed, there is no telling how many more deaths we would
If the small game hunting seasons were not as regulated as they already are, humans still could not even come close to putting a dent in populations of each species. Hunters are only allowed a certain number of animals for each hunting season. If a hunter kills a limit of twenty geese in one day which is all that is allowed and does that everyday for the hunting season he is not hurting the population whatsoever, because one goose could reproduce many geese which replenishes the population. Another reason as to why regulations should not be as strict is there are plenty of animals to go around every single person multiple times. Even if every person went out and kill their limit of geese the population would not suffer any.
Although less than 5 percent of the U.S. population hunts, hunting is permitted in many wildlife refuges, national forests, and state parks and on other public lands3 where almost half of all hunters slaughter and maim millions of animals every year (by some estimates, poachers kill just as many animals illegally).(4,5) The vast majority of hunters do not kill for subsistence.(6)
Thanksgiving is a the day we celebrate everything we are grateful. In which comes the controversial topic of how thanksgiving became what it is today. overall , I thinking slaughtering turkeys for a specific day is a horrific act and is considered a social justice issue. While on the contrary I do not believe it is a race and social issue mainly based off the history of thanksgiving. There is harm to the turke I think the reason it is such a controversial topic is the fact we are solely killing turkeys to interpret a dinner served back when. It is also a social issue because of the amount of turkeys being killed. As well as what thanksgiving could stand for. In one of the videos “ Meet the rescued turkeys at Woodstock Farm Sanctuary” Caregiver
The deeper I dig into animal abuse , the more I want to become a vegetarian. But it is not easy as it seems. The things that I have seen and read makes me sick to my stomach. To watch a hopeless cow, get whipped , is sickening. Watching baby Chicklets die in a big machine , brings tears to my eyes. Millions of animals every day die cruel deaths , and I no longer want to be an accomplice to the crimes. While it may be hard to retrain myself , I should and intend to just stop eating meat.
First, one of the reasons we shouldn't murder and eat a turkey is because turkey have personalities like us humans do. Turkeys are smart animals with personality and character, and eager awareness of their surroundings. So if a farmer removes a turkey from his habitat and flock it will feel unhappy and squawk of anger. When turkey senses
Have you ever considered how many turkeys are in the world if it wasn’t for thanksgiving and farmers killing us ? Well some people think it ok to eat us turkeys because we're good. My opinion is that you shouldn’t eat us for two reasons because we have diseases, there also bad for human health.
nimals, I think it's kind of gross, but I don’t have the commitment to say I'm a vegetarian. Anyway, I don't enjoy eating animals that much, it's just not for me but that's a personal problem. But that's the main focus of Thanksgiving! People just call is Turkey Day, sometimes! So, there's one holiday food, OUT! Next in line, we have stuffing. Mmm don’t you just love good old fashioned wet bread to fill your genetically modified turkey's carcass? Ew! What? Why is that a thing? I don't need to argue this further, I think you get it. The only other key player in the Thanksgiving meal that comes to mind is pumpkin pie. Pumpkin spice is a fan favorite, starting early September people go wild over everything flavored to taste like that festive squash. That's another one of those foods that I just don't like, I'm a picky eater, it's fine. So, I'll let everyone have that, but that does not make Thanksgiving more enjoyable to me. The only Thanksgiving food that I can thoroughly enjoy, are mashed potatoes. Those are glorious, I'm not mad at them but my family gets a little upset at me when that's all I eat for Thanksgiving dinner so it doesn't even count. Major portion of Thanksgiving celebration is the food, and I'm not into it. Boom! Holiday ruined! I mean, if I'm going to overeat, it might as well be foods I enjoy! But, it gets worse.
Humans have been hunting on this planet for over two million years. Our ancestors used complex hunting techniques to ambush and kill antelopes, gazelles, and other large animals dated back to times before Christ. People all around the world still carry on the tradition, but the view on hunting is not the same as it was back then. The world is so industrialized, and people think hunting is cruel and useless because you can buy meat at grocery stores. But in reality, it is the reason the wildlife they see are not extinct. Harvesting game not only benefits the hunter with the meat, but also the land, the wildlife, and controls the game population; therefore, without it wildlife would starve, and land would not be managed.
