In fact in the article I read ”Parents share son’s fatal text message to warn against texting and driving” (pg 137) It states, that “Heit died shortly after the April 3rd crash.” Another piece of evidence is, also found in the same article. It states “In a split second you could ruin your future injure or kill others, and tear a hole in the heart of

That's the biggest reason why texting and driving is such a huge problem. At any point throughout the day there are approximately 660,000 people on their phones while driving (Edgar Snyder & Associates). The reason for this is because over a quarter of all people who text and drive believe they can multi task without affecting their driving at all. These people don't find out the truth of this statement until it is too late. Imagine a world where you can feel safe on the road a world without texting and driving. I feel that I have

These days, many strive to be connected with the world and their friends by using mobile devices. The problem is that numerous people tend to do so at bad times. For example, while one is driving, it is common to look down at the cell phone to send a short text message that could put their lives in harm. Across the nation, numerous advertising and support groups are spreading the word to encourage society to put phones down and focus on driving instead of texting. However, it really hasn’t stopped. There needs to be a significant change and with the way technology is advancing, there is an immediate, attainable action that can be
The majority of the people in the world don’t intentionally put themselves in dangerous situations, yet tragedies occur every day. Each year a motorcycle hill climbing competition is held in New Plymouth, Idaho called the Big Nasty Hill Climb. On September 19, 2009 my sister’s best friend Lacy Fine set out for a day of fun with her cousin Brittani and her cousin’s boyfriend Carlos to watch the hyped up event. She’s never been the most cautious person because her attention span is that of someone with ADHD or a stereotypical airhead. I say this with love in my heart, because she was literally a part of my family and would never purposefully hurt someone. I can
According to texting and driving statistics, every year, around 330,000 people die every year from texting and driving. This is around half of all the people who pick up their phones in the first place. Being on your phone draws your attention from the road, to your phone. Doisomething.org states, “When you text and drive you are 23 times more likely to get into a crash.” All it takes is a simple act of not watching the road. Being unaware while driving can put you, and other's lives at risk or injury or even death. This can affect your future, others around you, your friends, and your family. Texting and driving is a very big deal. Don't Text Drive states “5 seconds is the minimal amount of time a driver takes their eyes off the road. If you are traveling at 55 miles an hour, this would equal the length of a football field of not
The importance of texting while driving should be addressed to anyone obtaining a valid driver’s license and can operate a vehicle. This particular proposal should develop a direct impact on life because it gives people a chance to see what can happen if a person continue to text and drive. People really need to understand how easily it is take the life of someone else or even themselves. And most of the time in many cases relating to this particular problem, it is always is the age groups ranging from 16 years of age to 30 years of age. You should never use your cell phone while driving because your risk of an accident goes up tremendously, it takes your attention off the road, and because it is the leading cause of death for kids between the ages of 15-20.
The second reason of why texting while driving should be made illegal is that it is as dangerous, or even more dangerous than driving under the influence of alcohol. In a research study it has been proven that even with a hands-free device, talking on a phone can impair driving skills more than driving under the influence of alcohol does (Saletan 3) because when under the influence the driver does not lose sight from the road and constantly knows what is going on around him, even though his judgment has been impaired and his reaction time has been slowed down. In contrast, texting while driving makes you lose sight from the road which makes the drivers reaction time much longer than someone driving under the influence and can make him end up in a very bad accident.
In June there was an accident involving the deaths of five teenage girls. The driver was believed to be texting when they crashed into a tractor-trailer. I believe there should be a serious law to keep both teen and adult drivers from driving while texting. If there are laws passed to prevent this, many people can be saved from having car accidents or near misses. The driver is not the only one affected either, if they hit someone that person is affected as well. The texting law would be for personal safety and the safety of others.
Fact: The National Safety Council is a non-profit public service organization. It revealed a driver's ability to process images drops by as much as a third when the driver uses a mobile phone.
There is 250 Million American who has a cell phone. Georgia house bill 23 would ban texting and talking drivers who are under 18 years old (Dickensheets N. Pag). Some people think that texting while driving should be unbanned because not everyone would be impaired when performing this task. However I think texting and driving should be banned because it costs too many injuries and death you see on TV and the news that are related to this.
Lastly, cell phone use while driving should be banned because it can become dangerous for oneself as well as others on the road. Not only does cell phone use for drivers endanger other people, it endangers the life of the operator itself. Drivers can run off the road into trees, ditches, or poles; they may also run into other cars or drift into oncoming traffic. Using a cell phone while driving also puts other drivers on the road in danger; if a driver is texting, their eyes are on their phone and they may not see the car in front of them stopping, which will lead into a wreck that could injury someone.
Secondly, and probably the least surprising, is the overuse of cellphones while driving. While it is not the largest cause of accidents, it contributes to 12% of distracted accidents. Texting is the largest problem, as the risk of crashing is increased by 23 times. However, phone calls, notifications, alarms and social media also add to the danger, with cellphone addiction being on the rise among today’s teens. Having your phone in one hand and the steering wheel in the other is too much to do at once, especially when most of your attention is towards typing out text messages to friends. There are many simple fixes for this, as you can ask a passenger to type messages or complete phone calls. If you are alone, then pulling over is the simplest
I believe that texting and driving is dangerous because 1 It distracts the driver from paying attention or to the road, 2 This is how most crashes happens, And 3 It wouldn’t be that hard not to pull over and text them then because then you and the people driving around you would be more safe from getting into crashes. 1 it distracts the driver. Most people look at their phone for about 5 seconds, looking at your phone for that long means that you can go almost a full football field if you are going 40
Texting and driving can also be dangerous because people could die. Not only that texting and driving causes distraction to where it increases the chances of you dying or getting into car accidents. At least 9 people are killed every day because of a distracted driver. More than 1,000 people are injured every day due to a distracted driver. In 2015 42% of teens say they have texted while driving—and
