When designing a coastal inspired bedroom for a client, I typically begin with a palette of both color and texture that is truly reflective of the coastal feel and the client. Here in Southern California, the coastal areas are rich and varied, with colors like blue, green, creme, grey and even yellow and orange, as well as textures like sand, sea grass, reeds and driftwood. Coastal interiors are hands-down my favorite interiors to design as there is such a wide variety of elements, colors and textures available to re-imagine and infuse into the home and I do prefer to use the power of suggestion when designing a coastal home, rather than a literal or 'kitschy' interpretation.
Coastal-inspired spaces are light and airy and evoke an effortless,

Any room that is lighter is also generally perceived as being more open, spacious and, generally, happy! If considering use of some of the darker coastal colors, like grey or green, keep them as accent colors or use in just one area to reduce the impact on the light, flowing feeling typical in a coastal-inspired room.
When considering wall color, use a tone of soft white or a light tone of an actual color. White will help move light around the room, whether it's from a natural source like a window, or from a light fixture. A light tone of a color will provide a similar effect. If you want to make the room darker, this can always be accomplished through drapery, however I have found it best to have the option to go from light to dark through the simple pull on a drapery panel.
Using stripes is another way to keep the eye moving and infuse a space with a familiar coastal design element. Using stripes on the walls or drapery will help make any space look larger by drawing the eye up and into the space, also contributing to the open, spacious feeling.
Keeping these tips in mind will not only help you begin designing a coastal-inspired bedroom, it will help you create a retreat you can enjoy for many years to
The mood will be set by shade. It'll be the very first thing somebody sees once they enter the space. Ideally, make use of a comfortable color about the walls and use feature tiles and extras to incorporate accents that are bright. Hot- tiling and colored floors, including a tile backsplash, may offset the trendy looks of features.
When you decorate with only neutral shades, you can make a tiny space appear larger. Dark colours tend to close rooms in whereas light ones open the room up to provide the optical illusion of space. Pale pinks, light beige, white, cream, light green and baby blue are just some
With regards to utilizing spots for home stylistic theme, there is so much one can do. Right from bathrooms to rooms, polka dabs can be utilized as a part of differing blends to highlight the excellence of the room. As home stylistic layout is such a subjective theme, perspectives may shift from individual to individual. Be that as it may, what makes a difference most is the way the thoughts have been executed, and the last look of your home.
Navy Blue: Navy Blue is an instantly appealing classy look that gels well with your interiors. It’s instantly gives a bright look to your decors, and also adds to the contrast of the color white. Recommended for use in bedrooms and study rooms for its elegant
Seaside Living celebrates our connection to the seaside – whether as a summer playground, winter hideaway or permanent abode, there is nothing quite so relaxing as living by the water.
The reason I choose the theme I did is because of the generalization that everyone likes the beach. Especially children, which would be the students I would be teaching via this classroom design. Although it is an overused theme, I would say that a beach theme promotes relaxation and fun, which is something lower grade elementary students would want to have in a classroom. It would make them feel less uneasy about their first days in class. It would also perhaps initiate a feeling that that the teacher they have isn’t boring, and would pay more attention in class. All-in-all, the reason for choosing this specific theme all came down to personal choice and the psychological effect it would have on my students.
Speaking of bright and bold colors, Art Deco is rich in shades of red, black, pink, silver and green. As for the neutrals, beige and cream are top choices. Furnishings can also be in orange, yellow
Color is often an important design element for most homeowners. Our casement window color palette includes five exterior options and seven interiors, including natural wood finishes in pine, oak and maple.
I have made my design board project to be for a high school or college student, by doing this I put a desk in the room for you to be able to study or do homework in a comfortable space. They would have plenty of room for their clothes as well. For this room I picked the split-complementary color scheme, I chose the colors grey, white and black. I painted the walls grey and painted the ceiling white. While leaving the headboard, bedframe, and night side tables black. With these colors I am trying to symbolize maturity and comfortness while maintaining balanced colors. For the floor plan I just wanted an open simple concept trying to make the room feel spacious by spreading out all of the furniture along the walls. I have used lines in the bedspread
In the past, builders, decorators, and homeowners used neutral paint colors in every room of the house. These neutral colors are suitable, since they match most décor and interior design. However, they can be a bit boring and ordinary. If you want to add a bit more personality without overwhelming your space with vibrant shades, consider using a light shade of one of these new neutral colors:
Creating an Under the Sea themed room for my baby was an exciting and rewarding experience. I found inspiration almost everywhere I looked. I love the personalized room we created, and I know that you can do it, too! Carpet and Paint When we bought our house, the baby 's room was the first to get decorated. The carpet needed to be replaced anyway, so we chose a sand color. If we choose to change the room later on, the carpet will still be neutral enough to compliment another theme. If you have hardwood floors in the baby 's room, you can easily add a throw rug. Although you can paint the walls blue and call it a day, my husband and I decided to really dedicate the underwater room to it 's theme. We painted the ceiling and a few inches of the top of the walls light blue. Then we painted the rest of the walls a darker shade of blue. Where the two met at the top, we painted a wavy pattern. Remember, this doesn 't have to be perfect. After the paint dried and we applied a second coat, it was time to add some embellishments. I painted big puffy clouds onto the ceiling. On the walls we painted some plain green plants. If you are particularly artistic, you can paint fish right into the scenes. We aren 't artistically inclined, so we found a way around that. Fabrics I headed straight to the fabric store to find the perfect curtains and blankets. Although you can certainly hang plain blue curtains up, we chose a flannel cloud print. The flannel was thick enough to filter some
Its cold, windy, and sunny all at the same time. The beach stretches for miles seeming endless, until it reaches a tall cliff with waves crashing against it. The sun shines down on the moisture in the air creating a “sparkling” affect to add to the view. In some spots on the coast giant rock formations stick out of the water, creating a question on how they formed there. Sea creatures dot the sand everywhere. Walking the beach with sand between your toes is and not a worry in your mind is one of the best feelings. If you time it right early in the mornings and late in the night low tide takes place and you can find sand dollars and unique shells. Beautiful houses and hotels line the beach all with the same withered look they all strive to have, and balconies on every place to capture the view.
Consider how various colors can work with existing tones of the floor, walls, or ceiling if you do not have furniture in the room. However, if a room is already furnished, pick a rug that is neutral in color or one that is secondary to the dominant color in the room, so that it blends well with the rest of the décor.
You can add colorful pillows, or textured curtains with such sofa to add a dash of glamor to your room décor. However, if you have small children or guests frequently visiting your home, then it is better you go for a dark neutral tone.
This works especially well in the living room. A terracotta shade sofa from xxx will pair nicely with decorative floral pillows and curtains.
