The literature and material that has arisen because of Steve Bartman’s life does little to tell of who he is. Bartman repeatedly declined to speak, even when it would be lucrative for himself. The infamous Steve Bartman incident occurred on October 14, 2003 with the Chicago Cubs and Florida Marlins at Wrigley Field in Chicago, Illinois. He almost caught a foul ball that controversially might have been caught by outfielder Moisés Alou and turned the tide of the game they lost 8-3. The outpouring of blame and thrown objects forced Bartman, an avid Cubs fan, to leave, and even to sequester himself in his house for protection. This has raised issues related to

David Shoemaker provides two theories of egoism in the text--psychological theory and ethical theory. Psychological egoism is the claim that all actions are done solely for the sake of one’s own self-interest. Ethical egoism simply states that all actions ought to be done for the sake of one’s own self interests. Shoemaker elaborates stating ethical egoism is the more attractive theory.
The builder of this seventeen room Greek revival mansion was Stephen S. Speakman. In the early 1840s, the elderly Speakman fell in love with a much younger woman, Sarah Bush, whose father owned a slave-holding plantation in Kentucky. Upon asking her hand in marriage, his bride-to-be refused to marry him unless he built her a southern plantation-style mansion. In 1845, with the use of his father-in-law’s slaves, Speakman erected his mansion on a five hundred acre plot next to Loughery Creek with every brick baked on site (Historical Marker Project).

Thomas Beck and all of Long Beach had been plagued by a local nuisance known as Lew-Is-the-Light for several years. When Tarrytown on the Pike burned, Lew-Is was on the street early the next morning peddling his little letters saying the fire was a judgment from the Lord because Lew-Is had not been paid his rightful tithes. Daily this self-styled Jesus sent newspapers mental wanderings boasting of his supernatural powers. But things got out of hand when Thomas Beck had an epileptic seizure following receipt of a tithe demand from Lew-Is. Beck had received several letters from Lew-Is suggesting Beck pay him tithes in order to improve his health. Beck ignored the letters until he received the following:

CORNING (WENY) - Have you ever thought about what you'd do if put in that situation? Between 2000 and 2013, more than a thousand people in the United States were killed or wounded from an active shooter situation. When the San Bernadino shooting happened last year, the shooter killed seven people in one minute. It took the police about four minutes to arrive on scene. Local retired state Police officer Tom Huffman says it's the surrounding public who are the real first responders, which is why it's our job to know how to respond to an active shooter situation.

Life. From what people have said, it is hard; imagine how much harder your life would be if you had a face like August Pullman. People complain way to much over unimportant things. If there is really a need to complain please make it reasonable. I can understand why August would complain because he has a deformed face, which he can not do anything about. Out of all people, August Pullman was born with a deformed face because he could handle how he looks and what people say about him, although it is hard.
