DCPS Study abroad is a great opportunity for me. Going abroad can help me understand the world more and learn about different cultures. During this experience I will hope to gain more knowledge about different cultures around the world. I will also like to help people who do not have the chance like I do and try to help to improve the world. Even though I am going on a European study tour, I will still like to have a chance to a Spanish speaking country to advance my understanding of that culture.
Studying abroad can help me learn more about the world, especially for the future career that I want to have. In the future I want to be a Marine Biologist. Being a Marine Biologist means that I would have to travel the world researching about marine
Studying abroad will be an experience of a lifetime. Going beyond the US Coastlines that I have never crossed will get be valuable life lessons that I must learn to be successful in my future career. I want to increase my knowledge both inside and outside of the classroom, and I believe the best way to do that for me is to continue to go beyond those small town borders that have kept me
There are many benefits to studying abroad, as a criminal justice major. Since crime is relative to the time and place, not all cultures view crime the same. Studying criminal justice in another country would allow me to see other cultures perspectives on certain laws and form a broader sense of open-mindedness. I believe studying abroad can distinctly set you apart from others on a job resume and in everyday life. This would be an experience of a lifetime that could improve my self-confidence, communication skills, and give me an opportunity to meet fresh faces all over the world. Nevertheless, it would assist me in learning different perspectives and increase my understanding of other
I’ve always had a keen interest in science. When I was younger, I viewed a dolphin show online. I was instantly fanisnated and later I was informed that the trainers were special marine biologists. The idea of becoming a marine biologist is still a dominate career choice for me. Last year, I was incredibly curious with the aspects that a marine biologist has to undertake that I researched the career path as part of my PLP. This only ignited my interest even further and when I was invited to attend the Flinders University I particularly focused on the marine biology and biology lectures.
Studying abroad is important to me for a multitude of reasons. The most pressing of which is,
Adapting to a new environment is challenging for most people who first go abroad to study, so a person must be resourceful and resilient. When encountering numerous challenges, you should find some solutions to overcome it rather than give up. There is nothing quite like being on your own in a foreign country. You might find that studying abroad really brings out your independent nature. Students who study abroad become explorers of their new nation and really discover the curiosity and excitement that they harbor. A benefit to studying abroad is the opportunity to discover yourself while gaining an understanding of a different culture. Being in a new place by yourself can be overwhelming at times, and it tests your ability to adapt to diverse situations while being able to solve the problems. I believe studying abroad bring me a lot. It not only makes me improve my English but also make me how to solve the problems when I
This greater sense of complexity within the world would enhance my personal and intellectual progress. Studying abroad would establish my ability to communicate and connect with other nations and cultures. It would widen my view of the world and even help me have an improved understanding of the culture I live in. Working to understand it would be a prodigious start to developments, within myself and learning to transform the world around me for the better. My overall experiences granted through the university would exponentially escalate, aiding me in becoming a self-sufficient, confident person. I want to do my absolute best for myself and those around me, which means doing my best to fully understand the world I live in. The better I can understand and work efficiently in the circumstances we live under, the quicker our world can progress into a greater state than it is currently in. Increasing my critical thinking skills and awareness of what is happening around me can help me transform the society we live in and enable me to pass that knowledge along to
The career path I wish to be taking is Marine Biology. As a Marine Biologist i would be studying marine wildlife and plants. I choose this career path because i've always been fascinated with the water. There's so much we don't know about the ocean and it would be amazing to be able to discover a new fish or something about the water we've never know. It is important to understand the education or training requirements, skills or talents needed, salary and benefits offered and the duties for a particular career when making this decision.
There are many things for me to learn from this program. Firstly, I would gain much knowledge and many learning experiences from participating in this program. I am applying to the Summer@Brown program to take a course in Marine Biology. By taking this course from a prestigious college, with an experienced professor, I would improve my knowledge of the subject of Marine Biology and take steps to find a career in the subject. It would also provide me with insight into the world of college academics, which would help me in several years when I am a college student.
My goals in life are to get a first enlist in the Navy, hope to get a job as a diver in the special operations program. After my first enlistment is up, I want to be a diver at an aquarium where I can feed the animals; Meanwhile, I would like to attend Rosenstiel School of Marine and Atmospheric Science at The University of Miami and earn a doctorate degree in Marine Biology to become a Marine Biologist. I've always been fascinated with animals, especially aquatic life. Although, I wasn't dead-set on becoming one at first, over spring break I made my final decision. We went to an aquarium and I just loved every bit of it; the animal’s interactions, the knowledge behind all of it, and the joy I saw between the employees and the animals. I’m very interested in not just the study of organisms in the ocean or other marine bodies of water, but also marine conservation and ecology. Thinking about the studies of protecting and preserving of the ecosystems in oceans and seas and interactions among organisms and their environment just gets my full attention. I could sit for hours and hours and listen to anybody talk about these subjects and they would have my full attention, one-hundred percent. This subject has never, and never will lose my interest.
Opportunity to travel abroad: traveling to another country enables you to get a complete picture of the culture, it also helps to enhance your interpersonal skills as well as your communication skills and it enables you to appreciate new customs. (San Diego State University, n.d.)
First and foremost, from personal angle, study abroad enables students to achieve high level of maturity and independence very quick. This is because they are being away from their support network like families. It may seem daunting but in the other hand it is actually a precious chance for the students to sharp their own skill and gain some independence. For instance, they have to buy the groceries by themselves which maybe it is their first time doing so. Students also have to deal with many problems when they study abroad like adapting to the new environments and lifestyle. So from here, they have learnt how to deal with problems. Apart from that, study abroad may also rapidly advance the student’s language skills especially English. Being surrounded with the native speaker and people that don’t speak the
Spending more time gaining knowledge is a key point in life. When you are young, adults tend to say things about build a future for yourself. That everything will fall into place the further you expand on it. I seek to become what I aspire to be, a Veterinarian or a Marine Biologist. As a young girl I have been fond of any animal I would come across, wanting to help them in any way possible. I am inspired when working with animals, giving them comfort and healing their lives makes my day better. I tend to find myself consistently volunteering at SPCA's, assisting any way I can.
I feel studying abroad will enhance my energy for academic goals and will strengthen my interest in learning. Also, my lifelong goal has been to start my own trading firm and globalization is a huge part of trading. I need to know the ins and outs of the foreign markets and studying abroad will increase my knowledge of how foreign countries do things. These days business is all about globalization and I wont be successful in globalization if I don’t get to see the world through with my own eyes.
When I was younger I learned that if you take care of the ocean the ocean will take care of you. Growing up in Hawaii I was surrounded by ocean and you can’t live near the water and not be curious about what is out there. This curiosity led me to marine biology and my love for learning about the ocean. My academic goals are to graduate in four years with a bachelors in marine biology and to continue on to complete a masters in either zoology or oceanography and a PhD in a field within oceanography. When it comes to my education I want to be well rounded in the different fields that contribute to what I want to research and being able to understand and look at problems in many different ways to find the solution that benefits both the ocean
