Inside, the school smelled smartly of varnish and wood smoke from the potbellied stove. On gloomy days, not unknown in upstate New York in this region south of Lake Ontario and east of Lake Erie, the windows emitted a vague, gauzy light, not much reinforced by ceiling lights. We squinted at the blackboard, that seemed far away since it was on a small platform, where Mrs. Dietz's desk was also positioned, at the front, left of the room. We sat in rows of seats, smallest at the front, largest at the rear, attached at their bases by metal runners, like a toboggan; the wood of these desks seemed beautiful to me, smooth and of the red-burnished hue of horse chestnuts. The floor was bare wooden planks. An American flag hung limply at the far left
Behind The Bedroom Wall, by Laura E. Williams, is the book that will make you rethink what freedom really is. This book takes place in 1939 with the 13-year-old German girl named Korinna Rehme who is an active member of the local Jungmadel which is a place where children had to learn about Adolf Hitler. Korinna Rehme believes that Hitler is a good man; she listens to him speak about the “Jewish Problem”, and she even has a picture of him in her living room. Korrina agreed with Hitler when he said that the Jews, along with other races, were making Germany weaker. Along with the idea that Jews were making Germany frail, Hitler also states Jews were the reason they lost WWI. Because of this, Korrina believes that she is a loyal German, well, until she finds a Jewish family living in a small, enclosed room in her bedroom wall. Historical events like mistreatment of Jews, Hitler’s reign, and hiding Jewish people are all featured in Behind the Bedroom Wall which makes this novel historically accurate.

The bunkhouse was nearly empty, the men in the dining hall. The sun was just rising above the horizon, peeking through the dusty windows. If a blind man walked into the rectangular building, he would have never known a man named George was sitting on a bunk near the blackened stove, gazing at the floor, his eyes full of morose. The mattress next to him and the shelves hanging above it were empty, as if no one had sat on the bed or placed their belongings on the makeshift apple box shelves in a long while.
Lucy Honeychurch is a dynamic protagonist in A Room with a View and her voyage to Italy drastically changes her perspective about conforming to society. The afternoon of March 20, 2016 at 1 pm I sat in the classroom 303 of Brewster B Wing awaiting Dr. Powers to begin her instruction on what would be happening in the Community Lab. We viewed a video that reiterated information that was addressed in the interviewer-training manual, Dr. Powers answered any questions that we had, and then we proceeded to the research lab.
Sometimes it can be easier to let others make decisions. People find comfort in letting others decide deadlines or goals. People can find direction in others’ choices for them that they could never have possibly come up for themselves. That having been said, life also requires ownership. A person’s life is full of options and can mean so much more if personal decisions are made within. It certainly is difficult, but the struggle often makes the result all that much sweeter. Such is the case in E.M. Forster’s novel A Room with a View. Throughout the story Lucy is stuck within the rigid, cookie-cutter class system. She finds herself surrounded by people who mindlessly go with expected actions and must walk in step behind all the adults in

“A Room of One’s Own” by Virginia Woolf is a narrative that is based upon the twentieth century feminist concept. She puts a perspective for readers if William Shakespeare was a women or had a sister. She thoroughly explains how the lifestyle would be like, the characteristics of the woman, and how they behaved. She goes into further detail about those qualities in her writing. Woolf’s writing is similar to the character Ophelia in the play written by Shakespeare titled “Hamlet”. Women back in the day were treated very differently compared to today, they had no rights. Both of the stories covered similar topic such as women mistreatment, protective parenting, and acts of madness.
We all have a place to sleep, and no I’m not talking about your car, or the couch at a friend’s house, I’m talking about a bedroom. A bedroom, is obviously a room with a bed in it, but it can be much more than that.
The hardest thing for a lot of students is keeping a clean bedroom. It can be very intimidating to clean your bedroom, especially if its been a a disaster for quite some time. You may find yourself getting overwhelmed and asking yourself where should you even start? Well in my experience I have had the best results just by following three very simple steps, which include creating a good cleaning environment, getting organized, and finally polishing everything up.
As I opened the way to the dreadful old frequented house on my road, I began to surmise that perhaps this wasn't such a smart thought. I admonished myself for needing to turn back, and reluctantly ventured inside to investigate. My darker hair and dim dark colored eyes made me for all intents and purposes cover in the wood-framed anteroom, aside from my old dim hooded sweatshirt and agreeable red sweat pants. I was normal tallness for eleven, however I was all the while must admire check for spider webs. I needed to clean my glasses since so much tidy had gathered on them. My hair required washed as of now since so much tidy has gathered on it. As I strolled through the entryway on my right side, I understood this must be the formal fining room. An old, Victorian style table with eight rich seats was clearly the point of convergence of the room, laying on an excellent green, gold, and red conditioned cover. The hardwood flooring around it composed immaculately with the covering, which came roughly 33% of the path up the exquisite gold-painted divider. The tremendous picture window was confined by a custom bureau with a smorgasbord coming to simply beneath the windowsill. My heart was beating, and the room noticed dusty, smelly, and faintly of roses. On the table there was a substantial bunch of red roses, and eight green, red, and gold place mats. Another red rose, each in a thin vase, sat at each place. I chose to look through the bureau by the window to check whether
No families with kids growing up would want to raise them up in an execrable neighborhood since environment influences kids the most. That is probably why every relative questioned Mr. Bao’s moving into a house in the most dangerous city in Orange County, Santa Ana. According to “OC register”, Santa Ana has the highest crime rate in OC, up to 869 cases a year in 2016. However, Mr. Bao and his wife had been searching for almost two years to find “the perfect house” in this poor area, and fortunately, they found one.
If I had to choose what my favorite room in my house was, I would say my bedroom. You will be placed on the south east corner of the room in front of the door. You are in a twenty foot in width by fifteen foot in length by eight foot in height room. In this essay i will describe the area of my room without using the actual names of each item. There is one door and one window within the room.
My bedroom is a beautiful room with all sorts of trinkets. When you walk into the room the first thing you will notice is the smell of incents. My bedroom is beautiful because of the large mural and all of the interesting things on my shelves. In my room I have items from all over the world and the walls have a one of a kind mural, which was hand painted by my grandfather. My grandfather started painting the mural on my wall when I was three years old and has been working on it every time he visits my house. Additionally I have been collecting interesting things from countries all around the world since I was young. Every time I would go to a foreign country I would try to buy at least one item that I wouldn’t be able to buy in the United States. Also every time any of my family members would leave the country they would always bring me back some sort of item for my collection.
Alone in a room. Quiet. Motionless. Suddenly she walks into a room, puts her blinding gold bag down, and begins to pace. Back and forth. Back and forth. Is she angry? Upset? Confused? It is possible. But take a closer look. Her face shows no sign of defeat. Instead, the girl is smiling, But why? Then she stops dead in her tracks. Grabs her phone puts on headphones, then resumes pacing. Back and forth. Only this time around she starts convulsing, with unusual jerking movements. To the untrained eye, this girls looks as though she needs help. However, she is a star. What we don’t see is that in her mind she is dancing, smiling, performing, and all eyes are on her. Honestly, she can dance, but if you were to watch her now she looks insane. In reality, though, when the music comes on it is all her, she only wants to dance, because she misses it. If you happen to walk in on this it is best to smile and back away calmly, because she is having the time of her life. Reliving old memories, and aspiring to create new ones.
