Knowing that many different animals react to many different things, it can be very difficult and a huge responsibility to care for one. Helping animals is a good to way to help the environment and others around you because it satisfies everyone with the results when treating an animal, and you’ll be doing something you like. My career goal is to be a Veterinarian. Being a veterinarian is very “challenging, rewarding, and demanding”. You have to be able to be aware of other people’s feelings and needs. You will come upon important decisions whether they benefit you or not. In order to become a veterinarian, you have to graduate from high school, get a Bachelor’s degree and/or go to a 4-year program at a college of Veterinary Medicine in order
I would like to be a veterinarian because ever since the age of four, I’ve had the desire to protect animals who I feel are weaker than humans because they have no voice. I believe that my passion to save animals stems from having a cat and watching her die at a young age. Not having the opportunity to help her made me think of how other people feel when they lose a pet and if there was any way that animals could be saved. I discovered that veterinarians save animals’ lives through reading a book, which answered my thoughts and gave me the initiative to become one. Therefore, at the age of nine, when my mother asked me what I wanted to do with my life, I told her that I wanted to be a veterinarian. I often find myself answering the question,
Veterinarians must hold a doctoral degree in veterinary medicine, pass a national licensing examination and meet any other state-specific requirements for licensing or certification. They must complete and participate in a four year Doctor of Medicine (DMV) program. Some of the courses that are in the DMV program are; Animal behavior, Veterinary pharmacology, Animal Nutrition, Clinical Pathology, Large and Small animal medicine, Diagnostic Imaging, Anesthetic and Surgery principles. Veterinarians in training will usually complete rotations of Cardiology, Dentistry, Oncology, and or Equine care. Some of the courses that will prepare them for veterinary school is; Microbiology, Animal Management, Anatomy and Physiology, Animal Nutrition, and Equine Care if I plan to go into the field of equines. To get my veterinary license I must complete a 360 question test, which usually takes about 7.5 hours (Erickson 1). Some states will require other things along with this test. Education is probably one of the toughest parts of being a veterinarian. The schooling and certification takes a great deal of time, which means I must be ready and realize that I will have a lot of schooling to pay off. I must also have dedication to be able to complete all of these necessary things (Veterinarian Education Requirements and Career Info 1). Along with all of those necessary
Becoming a veterinarian is my first career choice. It requires that you take a highly competitive veterinary program, as well as years of studying once you do. First off you have to graduate high school then go to a college. Veterinary schools are located in Colorado, Kansas, Texas, California, etc. It takes four years to get an undergraduate degree and then you take the North American Veterinary Licensing Examination to practice in the United States.
There are about 100 organizations of veterinary technicians that exist, state, local, and provincial across the United States (American Veterinary Medical Association). Out of those 100 organizations, there were 62,000 employed veterinary technicians in the year of 2004. The career of Veterinary technician will be investigated for the purpose of learning techniques to increase an animal’s health, providing information will result in determining if pursuing this career will be a positive choice for the future. This will be researched through job background, education and requirements, and the job outlook.
Carly Jones English 10 Career Paper February 9th, 2015 Veterinarian I have always loved animals, especially dogs. My dog Bear is probably one of my best friends and I would do anything for him. I have wanted to become a Veterinarian ever since I was a little kid and we got our first dog Max. I would pull his tail and drive him crazy but, I loved him and loved sleeping in his kennel with him.
A career in being a veterinarian should be obtained by a person who enjoys caring for animals, and sometimes having to care for their owners when they have to make hard decisions. Before becoming, a veterinarian person should know the career proves to need a lot of education, but is well worth the work in the end. It is important to know a veterinarian’s regular duties, required education, and the possible salary before choosing a career in this field.
When I was about the age of seven I had no idea what I wanted to do when I got older. Once I thought of being a cook, or even a meteorologist. One day I really thought about it, and I realized I want to do something that involved animals. I had such a big interest in animal and helping them. I wanted to do something where I got to work with animals everyday.
Veterinarians provide medical services for animals that are big and small. Helping sick animals weather they are big or small. They provide medicine for house pets and farm animals. When owners take there pet to the vet they are looking for someone to provide information to them about their animal. Some of the information given to the own is about how to properly care for your animal to make sure it grows the right why. Veterinarians are there to help animals no matter the size.
There are many jobs available currently in the year 2015. They range from a simple sanitation engineer to a nuclear physicist but as to what is the most rewarding job, very few fall into play. Of all jobs considered, a veterinarian is the most gratifying job one could possibly have. A veterinarian has a high income with an array of job opportunities that cater to a wide variety of people. Though some days can be stressful, just like any job in the medical field, in the end three different parties are rewarded. One is the family, who brings their pets in hope of getting them checked, or saved from illness. One is the animal being helped and the other is the veterinarian. The veterinarian is given the reward of helping others; the gratification of knowing that another life has been made better.
Not many people have their careers planned out during high school. Fewer have it planned out in middle school, and almost no one has planned on the same career for their whole lives. I, however, have always wanted to be a veterinarian. I’ve been raised around animals my entire life, everything from livestock to exotics. It had always been a given for me that I would grow up to do something involving helping animals. Since my life has always revolved around horses, it makes sense that everyone always assumes I want to work as an equestrian vet. They’re always surprised when I say I never want to work on horses more than is required to graduate. But I learned the hard way that I have no desire to be responsible for someone else’s sick horse.
I chose a veterinarian for my Program Of Study assignment. Veterinarians make sure animals are healthy. They take care of animals to make sure, that all animals are in good health and don’t get diseases . They research diseases and conditions of these animals. Veterinarians work to improve Public Health. They mostly treat pets, livestock, and the animals in zoos. They help people from getting diseases that animals carry.
I'm mostly interested in science for many reasons. Being a veterinarian may be one of the things I want to do when I grow up. Animals has always fascinated me. Every time I went to the zoo, I would always look forward to see all the different animals. Many of them look fascinating to see and I would search to see how one animal would branch off to another species. In my biology honors class, we watched a movie of how global warming is changing the weather and the green house effect could make massive impact on the earth and the animals. While I was watching the movie, many animal species were doing into danger (which they still are) and global warming is effecting their homes which will cause the endangered animals to become extinct.
I aspire to become a veterinarian one day which is why I am choosing to study Biology. I have always been fascinated with the bond we share with animals. Even though you can't talk to them they seem to understand a lot more than we give them credit for. Animals get just as sick as humans, but unlike humans, they don’t have radiologists, pharmacists, or dentists, only veterinarians. A veterinarian has to be everything an animal needs. I can’t think of anything more rewarding than giving each animal as much time with their owners as I can.
What is the perfect job? For everyone, the perfect job is different. Some people like animals, some like science, and don’t get me started on cars. For me, the perfect job would be a veterinarian.
Veterinarians are a big part of life when caring for a pet or farm. What exactly is a veterinarian and what is its purpose?
