Going directly to college after high school can be completely beneficial to one’s life. It is what the government encourages while in high school and can easily be accomplished. By attending college at a young age you can live the infamous college life that so many adults speak of as “the best four years of my life”. These four years can be achieved and should be enjoyed. As a young student, one can have the stamina to attend class with hours on end. As a current college student, I see many adults coming back to college because they have been part of the group that has tried to succeed while only having a high school diploma. The truth of the matter is those high school students that realize that a four-year degree in college can secure a place in life that is acceptable for them will be the ones to succeed; furthermore, these students are the future of America.
In society today, a college education is often seen as a “the next step” in a young adult’s life. Although college expenses might seem overwhelming, it is a smart investment that will lead to more opportunities, such as higher paying jobs, rewarding intellectual aspects, and above all provides a consistent and steady income.
My mother grew up on a street consumed with abandoned houses, needles and filth. She was born into a lifestyle with limited luck. From the very beginning, she was the older of three siblings, two sisters and one brother forced into responsibility—just her luck. She was given a mother, which this is okay, but of course her mom had to be strung out on drugs and alcohol—just her luck again. I could go on and on about the misfortunes in my mother’s life but then I wouldn’t be able to drain you all with the despairs in my dad’s life. He on the other hand had nine brothers and three baby sisters him being the eldest as well that’s just his luck, he grew up with a strong southern minded mom, but no dad and that’s just his luck. From the dangers of the neighborhoods they grew up in to the exposure they got from walking on the streets they figured they had the worst deck of cards.
College is a place where students learn what they want to be when they graduate and they use that knowledge they obtained from college to fulfill their dream by what they have studied, so hard for in college. Some people ask, “Is College worth it?” and the answer to that question is, “Yes.” A lot of people continue to disagree with that answer, but when it’s all said and done: college is worth it. That is why, there is still students that enroll into a 4-year college or a community college because they want to become successful in life which is the reason why they feel that college is worth it.
After high school students have the opportunity to attend a college. Today, it seems like fewer people go to college. People will say “It’s too expensive or I don’t have the time” however that's just not the case, in my opinion, college is worth it because if someone is seeking a long-term job with security, mobility, and pay increase must attend college. Having the degree is better than not having one at all.

We can't expect that tomorrow’s cures will be discovered if the minds of today aren't receiving enough education to flourish. All things considered, a person’s post-secondary education highly affects the rest of that person’s life. College is responsible for helping people find their calling because they have to find a major they are interested in, and want to pay for. To clarify, someone should not choose a college because of it’s price. They should choose the college that will benefit them the most, and it just so happens that the more expensive colleges will benefit them more. College is the most important step in someone’s life, so if they have to spend a quarter of a million dollars on a bachelor’s degree, so be it.
Post-secondary education is important since one is able to gain a well-rounded experience, receiving a degree pays off and it will be the greatest investment one will do in life. Those who do not follow through to college never get to prosper and maintain a constant living. The reason why is offered is to gain a fulfilled “American Dream”.

The benefits of a college degree are not just for money, but also a college degree will also give a person more career options. A person with a college degree will have more career options than someone without a college degree because employers will see that one has a college degree and think that person knows what to do and can do the job well. Employers want the best person for the job and a college degree looks really good on a person’s resume (Ten Great…). In a survey that was casted to see what employers look for, those employers said that they wanted people that have dependability, reliability, a good attitude, the ability to read comfortably, the ability to think more consciously, computer skills, and the ability to communicate clearly whether it be spoken or in writing (Knowledge and…). Along the path of getting a college degree, one will also learn these skills and attributes.

According to the New York Times, “Student debt, meanwhile, has topped $1 trillion” (Leonhardt, 2014). Having that much in student debts, often questions individuals attend college or to join the work force right out of college. There are a lot of advantages of attending college as well as disadvantages of attending college. As an individual, you have to be the one to decide if it will be worth it or not. Some may view it is not worth all the debt in the long run, whereas some think it is worth every penny in the end. I have always had strong values when it came to education, therefore I think college is worth every penny.
