If you read back to my " Beyond Tomorrow" stories you will see that I have listed this particular occurrence within my writings. I could never make up my mind whether this phenomenon was one of supernatural or indeed the possibility of extraterrestial activity. Who knows? When something strange happens that you cannot explain, the mind gets carried away. But, when a real physical effect is seen, the aftermath of something that's left it's mark - what are you to believe then? The UFO that never was? It was a strange time, that summer. It was around 1994-1995 (I can only go on the fact that my baby son was about three years old) He's sort of involved in this story as it was because of him that I was up and about during the early hours of the mornings during that summer. He always woke up during each night, requiring a top up of his drink bottle and an obligatory visit to the bathroom. Nothing unusual there except, on one such night I became aware that my son was talking to "someone" as I approached his room. On entering I asked him who he had been talking to? He told me that he was talking to his friend. I was so tired that I just ignored this but, immediately became aware of how bright his room was. This was unsual as his room had "black out" blinds upon the windows. Undeterred, I dutifully took his beaker with me down to the kitchen for a refill. As I walked back through the house to the staircase, I suddenly realised that I was walking around without any lights on- I
In "The Story of an Hour," I can relate to so many different things that go on in this short tragic story. After reading the story I almost felt like Louise Mallard and I were living the same life with different events and a different outcome. Everything about the two of us comes down to being always misunderstood and just wanting to be free.
Louis Mallard had a heart disease that was taken very serious by her family members, when the news came out about her husband's death her family made sure to break the news to her very sincerely. Her family and friends had no clue on how to break the news to her. Once she was made aware of what had happened to her husband, Louis went up stairs to let what had occurred process through her mind. She was astounded when she heard that Mr. Mallard was in a fatal railroad accident, she could only think of what would come of her future without him. She began to think of all the positive things that followed Mr. Mallard's passing. Although, she was thinking that she was wrong for being so positive in a situation like this. All of sudden,
My name was announced over the loud speaker “Gary Winthrop now up to bat.” I stepped into the box and took a practice swing. I starred the pitcher right in the eyes tempting him to throw me the ball. He wound up and threw me a slow curve ball that felt like it was hanging in the air forever. I took one step and took a smooth swing. The ball popped off my bat like a rocket and flew over the fence to score the winning run. All 50,000 fans in the stands went crazy. I heard my alarm clock go off, dang it was just a dream. I really didn't feel like going to school.
It was a Saturday morning and it was game day. The game didn’t start until 12:00 and we didn’t have to be there 10:45 A.M. Once all of us got there and we finally got into the gym to shoot around and warm up, Alicia and I were talking about who St. Marys had all beaten. From who they had beaten, they sounded pretty good. After a while of shooting we started to stretch. Alicia, Hannah, and Emily were near me so I asked them why the other team wasn’t here yet. Emily said “I don’t know they normally are already here”. By this time Taylor Swift’s song came on which is Emily’s favorite singer. The song was “22” and Emily started to sing “We will just keep dancing like were 22”. Once we were done stretching we started to shoot
With a triumphant roar the thrusters lifted the rocket with me and seventy nine other, ambitious young pioneers, on a path towards the future. People around the world stopped everything and watched Juno III blast off towards Mars bringing the first inter planetary settlers towards the red planet.
The room was black. The noises were subtle. I was hesitant but curious. I turned the flashlight on because the lights wouldn’t work. I heard a new sound. Heavy but fast breathing. I jumped. It was a boy! He looked kind of bizarre. He wasn’t dead
Ever since I moved with my mom dad and little sister into our new house, I noticed an occurrence of what I presumed to be unexplainable paranormal activities. The previous owners of the house had sold the house for a abnormally low price, but I overheard a conversation between our realtor and my parents discussing how the previous owners had accidently left their baby boy in the bathroom, which was right next to my room, alone for seven hours. Upon arriving home, the couple found the corpse of their suffocated child whose head had become stuck into the toilet. I have no true person to vouch for the validity of my experiences but every time I passed my bathroom, I felt a sharp cold chill shoot down my spine. Also, I would repeatedly hear the voice of an infant when I was left home with the nanny. When I asked the nanny about the sounds I had heard, she stated how she hadn’t heard anything. In addition, one night as I was sleeping in a tent in the living room with my grandma I could hear a faint whisper urging me to wake up around midnight. As my 9-year old self groggily woke up my eyes quickly shifted to a shadowy figure around my height, leaning on the television. I was paralyzed, fear had overcome me, I could not speak nor think or scream, all I could do was watch in horror as the shadowy figure looked
Day 37: I’m with my little sister in a forest trying to get away from the chaos. My mom and dad are gone and I don’t know where my twin is at. I see bodies everywhere. I want to go home, I want this to be over, when is it going to be over.
Jason stared up at Tyler's eyes; deranged, dilated, discolored. Tyler wore a smile on his face, his usual smirk twice as wide and displaying too many teeth. He held a silver and black pistol in his hand.
was driving home from physical therapy for my knee. It had been aching for the past few days. I had never felt a pain like it before, so I played it off as nothing. As soon as I hit the highway, I went underneath the Lowry Hill tunnel. I lost reception on my radio and I soon realized that it wasn’t just the tunnel that was making me lose my reception. A massive storm had loomed over my head. The sky was green and looked like it was turning sideways. Rain splattered against my windshield. Not just droplets of rain, but the ones that look like they had been shot out of a paintball gun. I immediately felt the wind blow my car to the right. I had to swerve hard to the left to avoid clipping a jeep that was next to me. Boy, were they in trouble. The jeep had it’s
What is the real meaning of marriage? Living in the 21st century to me marriage is when two souls that are meant to be together find each other, It is when one will do anything to be with the one they love. When getting married you are making a commitment to care for one another and love each other in happiness, health, sickness or any situation that might come up. When married one should have the feeling of not being able to live without their other half. One should feel free when being with their loved. While some view Ms. Mallard's perspective to be disrespectful, it is clear that Ms. Mallard views her husbands death as her only opportunity to freedom, due to the pressures of society in the 1800’s.
Guess what my sister did this weekend? Last weekend was her last meet before counties. She did very well. I had so much fun watching her. There were sad moments though when the relay was lost by a split of a second, b. But I still thought it was fun since it was her last meet before winter.
Running off the field I swoop up my girl, Daisy Windsor, who was cheering for me on the sidelines. We had just won our last football game of the season against the Mare Island Marines. I started thinking what my life wouldve been like if I continued on with the military field after I graduated. I couldve been one of those marines on the field. I shake the thought and focus on the beautiful girl in front of me in her cute little uniform. "Congrats Mr. Exeter," She smirked. I grabbed her hand and kissed the ring on her finger. "Thank you Mrs. soon-to-be Exeter." I met Daisy soon after I started college. We ran into eachother, literally, on the way to class on the first day. She dropped all her books on the floor and immediately dropped down to
A typical day in a life of a missionary. I am awaken by the sound of
Once there was a boy name Dereck. He was 11 years old and lived in a poor home with his parents and his little sister named Charlie who was 10 years old . Even though there parents couldn't afford what other kids had they still had fun and loved their life. They always played outside with their toys while mom was cooking food and dad was at worked. There dad worked in the field so he would always come home sore with back aces.
