Birds are descendants of theropod dinosaurs. In the article, “ A Chicken with Dinosaur Legs? Scientists say that’s not so Strange,”it mentions that dinosaur embryos and chicken embryos have similarities. Today, chicks inside eggs have dinosaur fibulas for a short period of time, it disappears before it hatches. This evidence suggests that dinosaurs and chickens are indeed related. The evidence suggest this because during the embryo phase they share similar features. You many wonder how this may support my claim but since chicken are birds the evidence proves that chickens came from those magnificent creatures. The only thing that stopped the chicken from developing the features were a few genes. Another piece of evidence from the video “The
Birds are closely related to crocodiles because they share the same ancestry with the dinosaurs. To compare the crocodile and lizard, one would think the lizard is closely related to crocodiles, as we read in our text, "similar structures don't always reveal common ancestry." Crocodiles and birds evolved having the same common ancestry as the dinosaur. Lizards, on the other hand, do not share a close common ancestor with crocodiles or dinosaurs, their common ancestry is more distant.
On the television there is way too much negativity that influence the youth and adults mind when we do not even know what is going on. The three television programs I observed had the following: physical, verbal, and relational (bullying). In the television show Martha Stewart she had few aggression in her show. In The Fairly Oddparents, it had way more aggression than Martha Stewart and Everybody Loves Raymond. Now Everybody Loves Raymond has fewer more tv agressions than Martha Stewart.
What would the world be like if there were an actual living dinosaur? No, they should not create a chickenosaurus. Based on “Dino-Chicken Gets One Step Closer”, it states that “even if the scientist give the chickens a new feature they won’t be able to use it”. The scientist could harm the chickens. “When the scientist transformed the chicken’s beak embryos into snouts they accidentally changed the palate”. Base on the Dino-Chicken Gets One Step Closer Jack Horner don’t care about anything the only thing he cares about is creating chickenosaurus. In conclusion even if they create chickenosaurus the chickens won’t be able to use it the new feature that the scientist gave them. Lastly the chickens could get harm.
After contacting the author Adam Rapp, Writer of Punkzilla , and Under the Wolf, Under the Dog, I was able to interview him for about an hour through Skype. I was able to ask him many questions in that time. Included in this is part one of the interview.
Using clear examples and evidence as well as the evolutionary concepts found in David Quammen's essay it is obvious that the existence and missing links are clear indicators of evolution. Missing links are species which relate major biological categorizations together, these species show the emergence of a novel traits though still retaining their old ones. In the case of Archaeopteryx, it still had many dinosaur-like features but had developed non-dinosaur-like feathers, as a result this species shared similar traits with both dinosaurs and birds. Since birds and the Archaeopteryx share many of the same characteristics it can be argued that birds evolved from Archaeopteryx which is evidence that modern animals are descended from extinct species. However, this is only speculation because many other different species evolved feathers over the eons and any one of those animals could be the predecessor to our modern fowl. Regardless of which animal the modern fowl descended from, be it Archaeopteryx or another feathered dinosaurs, the evidence still stands that feathers were evolved and passed down the evolutionary tree to modern birds which opposes the creationist's theory that all animals were created at the same time and that evolution is not occurring. Apart from the Archaeopteryx there
The biggest mystery surrounding the dinosaur is how did they die? For over 130 million years dinosaurs ruled the earth. Then 65 million years ago, at the end of the Cretaceous period, they died out.
For many years people have debated the existence and time of the dinosaurs. Evolutionists have used dinosaurs against Christians in many arguments as one of their main weapons. Many Christians give up when this argument is made and believe in theological evolution, or evolution in general because the Bible does not give them any support on this topic. There is several times where dinosaurs are mentioned in the Bible but it is shrugged off as make believe because the word dragon is used. There is a lot of evidence that dragon is more than a mythological or symbolic term within the Bible.
Scientists have found a new species of winged dinosaur, an ancestor of the velociraptor, which was also on the cusp of becoming a bird.
The natural world consists of many wonders. Some can be difficult to see or experience but however some wonders are a bit more obtainable, if you want to see a dinosaur all you need to do is look to the skies where they are flying around us, although this comment is very debatable as people have speculated that birds did not evolve form dinosaurs but from their own ancestors. Birds have the same structure as a dinosaur like for example the pterodactyl this is why people thought that birds evolved form dinosaurs but is that really the case?
Dinosaurs are a diverse group of animals from morphological, taxonomic, and ecological viewpoints. Birds are the most diverse group of vertebrates apart from perciform fish. With the help of fossil evidences, paleontologists have recognized more than 500 definite genera and over 1,000 distant species of non-avian dinosaurs. Dinosaurs are represented on every continent by both surviving species (birds) as well as fossil remains. During the first half of the 20th century, before birds were acknowledged to be dinosaurs, the majority of the scientific community suspected dinosaurs to have been listless and
A forum at UCLA seems to offer more of an opposing view to this question. Scientifically the idea that the chicken came first is more appealing. They tend to go along with the theory of evolution provided from Darwin. UCLA students hypothesis that since chickens are a bird species and that birds evolved from dinosaurs, the chicken would have to come first on the timeline. I tend to agree
No one quite knows how the theropod transformed its teeth into a beak, but a recent study discusses insight on the evolutionary mechanics behind the transformation. A Tyrannosaurus rex linked to a pigeon? A biologist named Amy Balanoff from John Hopkins and author of a paper claims the findings to further evidence the relation.
The article states that dinosaurs unlike other modern reptiles are endotherms. They are able to maintain constant body temperatures in even cold weather. The article provides three reasons of support. However, the professor explains that scientists believe otherwise and refutes each of the author's reasons.
The author of the passage aims to provide information about the extinction of the dinosaurs. So there was one man called Alvarez, and he got a nobel prize about the extinction of the dinosaurs.
However, few early on could have guessed that the ‘terrible lizards’ they were unearthing were the ancestors and relatives of sparrows, ostriches, and penguins. Not only the skeletal similarities observed between dinosaur fossils and the bones of birds, but also biological lifestyle shared traits and genetic and molecular evidence support the idea that birds find in dinosaurs their prehistoric roots. It would be difficult to make a case that dinosaurs were descended from a different source. If in fact the dinosaur-bird connection proves to be true, which is overwhelmingly supported by a variety of evidence, then technically it means that birds are in fact a type of dinosaur (Which Bird). The turkey you eat for Thanksgiving is classified as a species of theropod. The next time that you wake up to the chirping of a songbird, or see a chicken, keep in mind that the animal is actually a
