Martin Luther King Jr’s “letter from Birmingham jail relates to the civil rights timeline because the letter made a difference, more people stood up for racial equality, more people started fighting for their rights. His letter relates to the Jim Crow laws that segregated schools and public service. In his letter he says that there is “injustice here in Birmingham.” (letter from Birmingham jail) . He went there because he was invited and because he has ties there, but since his actions there were “unwise and untimely”(letter from Birmingham jail) he was put in jail. He wrote the letter to explain their statement ( “unwise and untimely”) and he hoped that they will be patient and come to reasonable terms. He says how their statement has failed
