The Longest Ride is about a girl who meets a bull rider named Luke. Sofia meets Luke at a rodeo when he is riding a bull. Sofia and Luke start talking and then they started dating. When they are riding in the car together Luke sees a car that had been wrecked. They pull over and helped Ira out of the car. Ira is an older man and his wife died a few years back. While he was in the car he thought Ruth, his wife, was talking to him and that what kept him alive. Luke’s mom doesn’t like him riding bulls because a year before he met Sofia he got really hurt while riding a bull. He was in a coma for a few days. In the movie they don’t talk about it at all. Also another difference is in the book when Ira was in the car the only thing that was keeping him alive was he dead wife Ruth talking to him. In the movie it didn’t have any of that. Also Luke was in the rodeo while Ira was in the car, but in the movie Sofia and Luke where on their way home from their first date. In the movie Luke gets Ira out of the car and then Sofia gets a box out that Ira kept talking about before the car blew up in flames. Then they took him to the hospital, when he woke up Sofia went in there and took him the basket with letters Ira wrote to Ruth throughout his lifetime. In the book it goes back and forth from Ira’s and Ruth’s story to Luke and Sofia’s. In the movie, Sofia goes to see Ira in the hospital every day and reads one of the letters to Ira. Ruth
“The longest ride” could mean a lot of things, but in this case it is referring to Ira and Ruth’s long life together and all that they have been through. Sophia is a young girl in college who goes to a Bull Riding Rodeo and meets Luke who she begins to like. I will be evaluating, predicting, and questioning the book, The Longest Ride.

The movie and the book are different because the people who directed the movie left a bunch of characters out and added a bunch of new characters. Some of the characters that the directors left out were the couple from England and that part of the book is when the man looses his glasses and David gives them to him and they talk for a little bit. Also, the man and his family that took David and made him work until winter are other characters that the directors left out of the movie. Also, the directors left out the dog, King, that was part of the family that made David work.
