DON’T BAN IT!
You have a sore throat and you NEED WATER and you go to the tap BUT NO WATER comes out you haven’t paid your water bill. This is just one of the reasons, why Bottled water should not be banned.
Making bottled water ILLEGAL would send the economy hurdling downwards. Acorrding to Goodbye Bottled Water,“The bottled water industry provides and supports 2,260 jobs in the state, resulting in $92 million in wages and benefits for Maryland workers.” This is important becasue $92million is alot of money and if that goes away our economy goes downwards
Imagine you are a firefighter you just got back from a fire(BLAZING HOT) and you probably want to cool off and you can’t find any water cause you sprayed it all at a building , Bottled
Bottled water has become a controversial topic as of late. There are always two sides to every argument, some think that bottled water is beneficial to society, whereas some people think that it is detrimental to society as a whole. Bottled water is detrimental to society because it costs the country an abundance of money. It is also harmful to society because it is damaging to the environment. A lack of sanitation in bottled water has also been connected to illnesses among people who drink it. Bottled water is in no way shape or form worth the price that one will spend financially, nor is it worth the gamble of becoming sick from all the harsh chemicals that come from the bottle itself.
Do you enjoy that taste of pure, bottled water after a long, hot, sweaty day? Sure, everyone turns to bottled water when they are clenching of thirst and need to get water conveniently. An average American drinks around 31 gallons of bottled water each year. Without a doubt, bottle water is convenient. But have you ever thought about what happens after you throw it away, or where the water comes from? Bottled water needs to be limited, or even banned from schools.
I have always found it sort of curious when I see people buying bottled water. My grandfather told me that when he was a boy they drank water from the hose and it was free. I know growing up our household certainly didn’t bother with things like that, so facet water is what we got as well. The costs of groceries these days is expensive, spending extra money on water always seemed like such a waste to me. Now, that being said, some people live in areas where the water isn’t very clean, and buying bottled water is much safer than drinking the city’s water. Also, bottled water has become more popular because it is paired as a service; Bottled water is easy to grab on the go. It takes more time to find a water bottle, with a lid, and fill it up than to grab an already bottled water.
Bottled water should not be banned in school no because people come up with new ideas every day. Also if there is a natural disaster in a school and there are no water bottles then the water will be harder to drink. Also some schools will have no water flowing through the school so they will have to use water bottles. Also people can just reuse the water bottle so they won't have to buy a new one.
One reason bottled water should not be banned is it would violate our rights. A ban of this consequence would be stripping us of our natural human rights. The text backs this statement up when it states, ¨This ban deprives residents of the option to choose their choice of beverage and visitors, who come to this birthplace of American independence, a basic freedom gifted to them by the actions in this town more than 200 years ago.¨ This statement proves that if our school were to ban bottled water it would unlawfully take away our ability to choose a healthier life style. This is one of
Most of Americans today prefer drinking from bottled water other than regular tap water. Bottled water is definitely more efficient and more reliable than tap water in many ways because it is easy to carry around. The problem with bottled water is that even though it is very easy to carry around, it is also very easy to dispose of. According to the International Bottled Water Association, the consumption increased 4.1 percent in 2011 alone. Furthermore, a report by the Earth Policy Institute (EPI) says that the consumption of bottled water doubled worldwide between 1999 and 2004. People throw away the bottled water so easily and the plastic that it is made of has many chemicals that can hurt the environment. The Bottled Water: Friend or Foe article says “Bottled water also damages the environment because the bottles become unnecessary garbage and require large quantities of energy to be produced.” There is two types of chemicals that are harmful, phthalates and biphenyl-A, they are mainly used to make the plastic flexible. Bottled water is damaging to the environment, has many health risks, and is a waste of fossil fuels that can be used for something else more important than just making simple bottles to contain water.
According to the three articles, bottled water takes a takes a toll on the environment that tap water could help prevent. Annie Gentile writes that the production and transportation of bottled water takes “the energy equivalent of 17 million barrels of oil a year” (20). In addition to oil usage, the water bottles reduce the strain on the environment, according to “New Study,” “you won’t commit to landfills” (3).
Is bottled water a good thing for us to have? People have different views on this subject. Some people would argue that bottled water is a good thing because it is convenient and portable. Others would disagree and say that bottled water is bad for the landfills, and that the quality is not up to par. In Cotroneo’s article, “Movement Against Bottled Water Gains Municipal Adherents,” Gentile’s article, “Mayors Push Benefits of Cities' Tap Water,” and Environmental Nutrition’s article “New Study Finds Fault With Some Bottled Waters; Tap Water a Better Bet” all three authors argue that there indeed is a difference and tap water is better than bottled water in three basic ways: cost, environment and safety.
Now that there is a guideline for water consumption, the bigger question looming is, “Should I drink bottled water or get it straight from the tap?” “Is one better than the other?” With water industry reports indicating over $100 billion spent on bottled water worldwide, there’s no denying the public thirst for bottled water. In the United States
People buy bottled water for many reasons, some such as its does not contain any calories and it has a refreshing taste. So then why are people banning it? People are banning bottled water because someone has recently found out that that Aquafina Water is actually came from the same source as tap water. Is it just Aquafina that is doing this tho? No it is not after the information about Aquafina has been released many more water bottled companies have came out and said that almost 25% of bottled water is actually tap water.
From the article “Don’t ban bottled water” in newsmax it brought up a good point that “bottled water facilities. For example Coke and Gatorade and Propel use 2.5 percent of the things inside bottled water not tap water bottled water. If we ban bottled water all those facilities will go out of business and people will be out of a job. Homeless scared and people say money spent on bottled water would be used for the homeless but if we ban bottled water there
Additionally, The destruction from the bottle water industry does not only play with our wallets. But it also creates issues with the world that we reside in. Our environment is being destroyed by the second right before our eyes. Our lakes, beaches, rivers and every other water system there is, is slowly ruining due to the plastic bottled waters we are purchasing and throwing threw out carelessly without thinking or caring about the consequences we are having to deal with across the world. There are more and more areas that we probably have no idea about that do not even have water. There are more places that we may think or believe that are suffering water droughts. The bottled water industry is causing a lot of destruction and a lot of people don’t realize it or better yet, thought about it. The industry is growing tremendously
There are some things that people probably didn’t know about bottled and tap water for starters when citizens buy bottled water they are not getting what they pay for and if they stop buying bottled water and just get it from the tap then there are chemicals in it that could affect their health sadly one of the only solutions to this problem lies in home water filtration installed in the sink or wherever your drinking water comes from.
Do you really know where your tap water is coming from? Can you really trust it? that's why we shouldn't ban plastic water bottles. But wait there's more I have reasons to support my opinion. There safe, clean, convenient , and if you ban one bottled drink you have to ban all.
Another reason why bottled water should not be banned but encouraged is because of emergency. What if there is an It is choosing an absolutely humongous bill over clean cheap water. ? Some earthquakes have been so bad that certain charities were looking for people buried in debris for days to weeks. If something even similar to this happens and all people believed in was tap water, they are going to wish they had a bottle of pure water in their
