Bravery, courageous behavior or character, is one trait shown by Jerry, in the short story, Through the Tunnel, written by Doris Lessing. The theme of bravery is important in this story because it shows the characteristics of Jerry in an appealing perspective. This makes him seem very brave, or heroic. The first way this short story shows the theme of bravery is when the author writes, “he knew that now, this moment, when his nose had only just stopped bleeding, when his head was still sore and throbbing - this was the moment he would try.” This shows the theme of bravery because even though he was inflicted with agonizing pain, he had the dauntlessness to keep going. The next way the short story shows the theme of bravery is when
Bravery allows people to challenge new things, or risky things. For example when John Proctor decided to go to the court to save Elizabeth, it required a lot of bravery. He tells Elizabeth “I will fall like a ocean on that court! Fear nothing, Elizabeth.”
Bravery is not inherent, it is rather acquired from the circumstances or situation faced in the life. People face lot of problems in their lives and to cope with those situations and move in with one's life is the sheer example of being brave. The same has been depicted by both the authors in their respective books. First by Kaye Gibbons in her very famous book "Ellen Foster" where in the protagonist is shown as homeless girl with no one to take care of, yet she finds a way to live her life and find herself a house worth living. Second, by Mark twain in his
Bravery is the key element to the book Michael Vey The Prisoner Of Cell 25. Written by Richard Paul Evans. Each character has to show some type of bravery to make what the book is now what it is now. I believe Michaels bravery impacted how the book is now.

This summer I was at the Ottawa County fair doing the off-road Derby. I wasn't sure about doing it at first, but my mom and dad said I would be fine.I got to choose what number I was and I got to choose what color it was too. In the end my mom and dad were right, it was fun and I got 3rd place for my first time. By doing the derby for the first time I showed Bravery. Bravery has risks and to other people they could be good risks and bad risks. The character’s Louie from the book Unbroken and the sniper from the short story “The Sniper” shows Bravery through the joining the war while trying to survive, and already being in the war while being prepared and trying to survive.
The conductors who contributed to the Underground Railroad sacrificed a great deal to help other slaves escape to freedom; that showed ample amounts of bravery. Martin Luther King Jr. stood by what he believed in to make a difference for this generation. He was remembered as a great man of bravery, he wanted change for blacks and whites to be equal. However, bravery does not come naturally to some people. To be brave means possessing or exhibiting courage or courageous endurance. Bravery is the ability to allow a person to be appearing bigger than the crisis. In James McBride’s novel, Song Yet Sung, he describes three characters that exemplify in bravery who
Throughout the history of the humanity, there were many events happened that show of the courage of many people. After the story “ Unbroken” that tells us about Louis Zamperini and his story , we can see that he is an example of a courage person, beside that, Nelson Mandela is another examples of this characteristic. But with his courage and smartness, he won against the racism and became the leader of the new South Africa. And In 1993, he received a Nobel Peace Prize for all that he did and contributed for the humanity.

John Wayne says, “Courage is being scared to death and saddling up anyways”. This applies to anyone whether that be a nine year old kid or a soldier in Vietnam. Courage is seen in the toughest situations, most dangerous situations, and even the simplest situation. War to work, courage is non-discriminate and a mental feature. Although courage displays itself as a grand act in extreme lifestyles, it remains unfixed and can create unexpected heroes.
Bravery has been an act that can set a person far apart from the rest of the people. One way of showing bravery is by protecting one another from harm. Another way of showing bravery is to stand up for one another. Finally, another method is doing an act without being asked to do it. To sum up, bravery is an important theme that is significant to all of us.

He faced many obstacles along the way due to the symptoms of his autism, but he eventually overcame them, which connects the theme of independence to Christopher in this event. Secondly, the development of the theme of bravery is contributed to in the text during the fearful events in the plot of the story when Christopher is frightened by people and situations that he connects to. This is exemplified when Christopher was revising his future life goals and stated, “I went to London on my own... I solved the mystery of Who Killed Wellington?... and I was brave
