An incision is made around the edge of the areola, down to the breast crease and then along the breast crease itself (horizontally). Dr. Esmailian removes the excess skin and uses internal sutures to lift, shape and support the remaining breast tissue. This technique is used when a woman has severely drooping breasts. In addition, this 'anchor' incision technique is the preferred method when Dr. Esmailian is performing a breast reduction and breast lift, simultaneously.
Crescent Lift – To perform a crescent lift, Dr. Esmailian creates an incision that runs along the outer edge of the upper portion of the areola. Typically, this incision is used when a woman has minimal sagging. Moreover, this is the incision technique utilized when a woman is having a breast augmentation with a lift.
Periareolar Lift – A donut-shaped incision is created along the edge of the areola. The skin that remains is pulled inward and then reattached to the areola/nipple. This approach is ideal for women who have mild/moderate sagging.
