Briana Carter born and raised in Chicago took the hair industry by storm at an early age. After graduating from Howard University with an advertising degree, Briana Carter worked with national networks like BET and YouTube. At these networks is where Briana started to make a name for herself. While working in the corporate world, Briana attended the Aveda Institute in New York, where she received her cosmetology license. Soon after earning her license Briana began working as a beautician in the well-known celebrity stylist salon Ted Gibson located in New York. During her time at the salon, Carter became aware of her desire to start her own chain of black beauty salons. Briana worked as a celebrity hair stylist for 2 years at Ted Gibson.
For my research paper, I plan to write about the Boleyn/Howard family. I will be focusing mainly on Henry VIII wives Anne Boleyn and her cousin Catherine Howard. The time frame I look to examine is from the rise of Anne Boleyn and her family to the fall of Catherine Howard and the aftermath of their executions and how it affected the family left behind. I think that both the Boleyn's and Howard's were very influential towards the middle and end of Henry’s reign. Most prominent is Anne Boleyn who has been polarized throughout history as either an innocently executed wife or a malicious and ambitious she-wolf who brought down Catholicism in England. It started out August 18, 1927, in Plains, Georgia. (Black) Rosalynn Carter was born to Wilburn Edgar Smith and Frances Allthea Murray. (First) He was a hardworking mechanic and farmer. She was a dressmaker and most importantly a mother. At the age of 13, Rosalynn Carter’s father passed away. She became the second parent to her siblings. She also became a mechanic and hairdresser. Gibson and Jordan were two African American women that beat the odds and proved everyone else wrong. Although both of them were black, both of them still went to college to receive the education they were entitled to. Althea Gibson attended college on a sports scholarship while Barbara Jordan graduated magna cum laude from Texas Southern University in 1956 and was accepted at Boston University's law school. In an article about Althea Gibson it states, "She graduated from the school in 1953, but it was a struggle for her to get by." Even though she graduated, since tennis was a white-managed sport, she couldn't get by as easy. In an article about Barbara C. Jordan it states, "Jordan attended the segregated Phyllis Wheatley High School, where a career day speech by Edith Sampson, a black lawyer, inspired her to become an attorney." She attended Bloomfield High School. Her parents were Gwendoline Irene Davis and James Albert Davis. She married a man named Jack Desmond. Viola Desmond’s background was African she was not allowed to train to become a beautician in Halifax, so she left and got beautician training in Montreal, Atlantic City, and at one of Madame C.J. Walker's beauty schools in New York. After finishing her training, Viola Desmond went back to Halifax to start her own hair salon. Viola Desmond created a beauty school in Halifax, The Desmond School of Beauty Culture so that black women would not have to travel as far as she did to get training. She also started her own beauty
Barbara Jordan was born on February 21, 1936 in Houston Texas. She was the youngest child of three. Her father Benjamin Jordan was a Baptist minister and warehouse clerk. Her mother, Arlyne was a maid, housewife and church teacher. Jordan went to college at the University of Texas. She graduated from college being one out of two African American women in her class. Jordan passed away from viral pneumonia on January 17, 1996. Barbara Jordan is a modern here because she is a brave woman, she overcame racism, she is also a civil rights activist.
Gibson went on to pursuie her education and improved her skill on the the tennis courts. In 1953, she graduated, through a tennis and basketball scholarship, from Florida A&M University and moved to Jefferson City, MO where she worked at Lincoln University as an athletic instructor.
As as result of the relocation of people from England to Australia, it turned Australia into the land of opportunity and made for a better world. It benefited England and the world for many reasons such as securing trade routes with China. The movement of the convicts also spread fear among english society deterring crime. Furthermore, some of the convicts were fortunate enough to the opportunity to live and potentially earn their freedom. Crime rates rose and England's jails become overcrowded with prisoners they resorted to using prison hulks as temporary, makeshift confinements on the river Thames eventually leading to the penal transportation to Australia.
Megan Betsa was born on March 7, 1995. She grew up in McDonough, Georgia. Her father and mother both played basketball in high school and college. Because of this, she has an excellent arm that is meant for softball and pitching. She started to pitch when she was 9 years old. She progressed and got better every year and you could tell that she was improving.

Western Iowa Tech Community College draws all kinds of people in from a variety of different states. Western Iowa Tech is located in Sioux City, Iowa. One of the students that it drew it is Alexis Johnson. Alexis is a freshman attending WIT this year. There are many reasons on why you would choose a school and hers is very specific. Alexis chose to attend WIT for its has an outstanding Police Science program. She is enrolled in the forensic science program for a very inspiring reason. Her aunt and uncle were involved in a bad car crash about 5 years ago, which resulted in Alexis’s uncle being paralyzed from the waist down. This not only has affected her way of life but her future as well. The driver of the other car was drunk. The drunk driver that was involved in the car accident with her aunt and uncle was only put in jail for 6 months and this was his 3rd offense of driving while intoxicated. Not only is Alexis against drunk driving but it also motivated her to want to become a cop to help stop drunk drivers.
Jeannette Walls was a young girl. Moving around constantly her entire life always on an adventure. Her family never had much money, and she had a hard time finding food. She was a skinny, tall girl with red hair, pale skin, and buck teeth. She was very optimistic in every hard situation she was put in and never gave up faith in her father, for a while anyways. Her father was who she had to put all her faith into. He made the decisions and he was the one who made all these empty promises to janette and her siblings. Janette lived life to the fullest, always being positive and never complaining and to be grateful of what she had, like her parents had taught her. She rarely cried, she was tough. In 2003, she decided to attend Maui's School of Colon Hydrotherapy, which is located in Hawaii. She started a business in Seattle, Washington shortly after completing her education. The business was a success, so she decided to expand it to outside of the Seattle area. She opened a second location in Bellevue, Washington in 2010.
