The math and science curriculum is based off of the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS). Although, Great Lakes Academy is a private school we choose to teach the same material that the students are required to learn in a public school. However, where the curriculum is different is we also use what is called a Gap Plan. When students are enrolled in Great Lakes Academy they are administered an assessment known as the Brigance Assessment of Basic Skills. The Gap Plan is created based on the results of the Bringance. The teacher then individualizes each student’s instruction based on the Gap Plan. The students are reassessed at the end of every academic year to deter mine if the objective of the Gap plan were met and to determine if the student has any additional Gaps that need to be focused on the following academic year.

The classroom has a maximum capacity of 10 students. However, currently there are only five students in the classroom at a time. The classroom contains a large horseshoe shaped table, which allows the teacher to work individually with each student at their desk. There is a reading area in the corner of the classroom for the students to use when they need to relax. The walls in the classroom are not decorated nor are there any unnecessary posters the minimal amount of decorations is required by the district. The empty walls help to eliminate student

The horseshoe shape of the table in the classroom allows for the teacher to be up close to the students for the student with auditory and visual learning styles. The students are able to directly interact with the teacher and our able to closely see any demonstrations that the teacher is performing. The curriculum is based on the concept that all students learn differently there is a large portion of time reserved for discovery learning for students who learn best by doing or the tactile and kinesthetic
Kindergarten classroom of 25 students they all sit at tables that will hold up to six students, however I have them sitting 5 to a table for ease of grouping. Each table is a team labeled by a color, a large construction paper crayon hangs from the ceiling above each table, and they have matching crayon nametags on their desks. There is a Smart Board at the front of the classroom as well as a white board. My desk is at the front of the room to the right of the white board. Different centers are located around the room such as the art center, the math center, the reading tree is in the opposite corner from my desk. The room also has a single restroom and a sink and water fountain outside of the restroom. We also have circle area to the left of the reading corner

We have cubbies were students put their belongings. We have tables that either two to three students can sit and do their work or activities. A few ways to improve my classroom would be to have a few more educational poster like of nutrition, grammar (nouns, verbs, adjectives and etc.), separating the different elementary grade levels so they near posters that would benefit them and adding activity board where students can draw or use it. The positive things in the classroom is that the room is separated into two parts so kids doing homework is in one part and kids playing is in the other part. Also, having posters that are beneficial to what kids are learning in school and the individuals’ cubbies for each student and the
This lesson was geared toward many levels of learning ability and a variety of learning styles. Mrs. Soglin modeled the learning objective with the pan balance using the visual aid with the scale and a variety of different objects to be weighed. Then she provided additional information using the chalkboard. She engaged with the class by having an open discussion allowing the students to build on each other’s knowledge of the subject matter. She allowed for students to model for the class. When students were working in groups and pairs the higher level students helped lower level students. She also provided challenging problems at the end of the activity for those students who were ready and

I want to build a sense of community were discipline problems can be prevented, children can feel safe, secure, nurtured and supported by the environment through thoughtful arrangements. The large amount of space in my classroom will be devoted to the arrangement of individual student desks the U-shaped desk pattern in my classroom will allow me to make eye contact with every student and reach each student with ease and this is also good for frequent whole-group discussions. I will provide open passageways through the aisles so the children can move around the room, this is essential for children in wheelchairs to have mobility. My classroom will have brightly colored posters, rugs and furniture such colors as yellow, orange, red and green will be on the classroom walls. I will have a bulletin board in the entrance for posting lesson plans, information about special classroom activities,
Over the period of data we reviewed, Ennis ISD has had tremendous achievements in the academic advancements of students with learning disabilities. The Ennis ISD disabled students have a graduation rate of over ninety percent, which is two percent higher than the state average for non-disabled students. The class of 2013 had 43 special education students graduate with high school diplomas out of the 345 total Ennis ISD graduates. Ennis ISD has a tendency to hold back their disabled students, especially in kindergarten,
The third grade class contained 30 students, some in which were ELL’s. The ELL students get pulled out at various times throughout the day. The classroom set up is arranged in 5 different tables that contain a cluster of about 6 to 5 students each. The students are placed at random but, some are placed far from students that they may not work as well together. Throughout the classroom, student’s work is up for display, inside and outside the classroom. Different students are given different jobs that they are responsible for each day. This allows the students to be active learners and hands on. The school makes each class have at least one
My eighth grade classroom is set in a Jr-Sr. High school and is located in the Jr. High hallway, in the rear of the high school. I have thirty-two student desks situated in rows and two small tables at the front of my room used for paper pick up. My desk and computer are in the back corner of the room. The students all have their own Chromebooks and I have a desktop computer as well as a Samsung Tablet. Google Classroom is used daily as well as many other applications suited for 1:1 schools. I also have a projector hanging from the ceiling and two large white boards located on the front and side walls of my classroom. The class that I will be focusing on in this paper is made up of 26 students, 15 boys and 11 girls. One student with learning disabilities, another is an ELL student. This class meets for 55 minutes.
The classroom is large, colorful, bright and well lit. It is divided in six parts. The room has two windows and one exit door. When entering the room 26,
I don’t have a steady classroom. I have different students throughout the day. I usually have between eight and 12 students at a time. The class is small so I can have “eyes in the back of my head” and give students the attention they needs.
Jayden’s class consisted of seven boys and one girl. The classroom was very small and can hold up to twelve students. Towards the front of the classroom, was a SMART board, calendar, classroom rules, behavior chart and a clock. Above the SMART board, was a list of the

The classroom environment effects instruction and learning by having an open area for the students to learn while exploring/playing. The educator uses the open space to model the task that needs to be completed. There were two table, which each seats seven students, for instructional hands-on work. Here students complete worksheets, drawings, and tracing words, shapes, and letter. Students encourage and help each other when sitting at these tables. Students learn to communicate when working in two groups on the same task. There were no effective practices that built an anti-bias environment that supported diverse learners.
Inside of the classroom there was a different objective I observed such as three calendars, three tables, a cabinet, 15 pack backs on the shelves and glitter. There were 2 flags, four plants and children sitting and lunch set. There were wood blocks, children pictures, pencil and crayons. There was hand paint, one clock and three rugs. There was three teachers and one with it an apron on.
