They gave a great portion for the price they offered it for. The fried calamari was very fresh when it was brought to our table. I loved how they made some crispy and some tender. The marinara sauce they brought along with the calamari was absolutely fabulous, they added a small spice into the sauce giving a little kick but I loved it.
When our entrees came out I was shocked. I didn’t believe how much they give you every time. Buca is very generous with their portions and does great job of making their famous pastas. The chicken Parmigianino was absolutely fabulous. The chicken had a nice texture to it especially when you cut it up. The chicken was just so tender and juicy and even crunchy due to the crunchy outside. The marinara sauce on top of it was different from what they gave with the calamari and it was amazing. You can tell the freshness of the tomatoes and the basil they use for their sauce. The pasta went really well with the chicken. On the other hand the chicken alfredo was not what I had anticipated. I love cheese, but the amount of cheese they had on this pasta was just overwhelming. The thickness of the sauce was just way too much for my taste buds. The chicken in the alfredo was just as tender and delicious as the Parmigianino, but the sauce of the alfredo really disappointed me. The first few bites were incredible but it got very difficult to eat because it wasn’t as creamy as I wanted it to be. The cheese got cold really
Growing up in a big Italian family, food has always played a large role throughout my entire life. Whether it was helping my mom and grandma make meatballs for Sunday dinners, having the traditional seven fishes on Christmas Eve or making trips to Little Italy, food has always been the common ground to bring my family together.
Probably the grilled chicken, like they have it on the grill and on the actual Kitchen where there should be more options, and the sides that they have has been the same thing: typically it's brown rice, which I get sick of after awhile, and I rarely see mashed potatoes. They need to get egg whites back. I’m sick and tired of them not having egg whites.
Chi Chi’s is equivalent to an Olive Garden; yet there is not even a table cloth and the silverware is wrapped in a paper towel. At Bella Cucina even though it is smaller, the interior is warm, trendy, and they have a beautiful fully stocked bar. I love all the warm colors and the decorative wine bottles, photographs, and paintings. I love coming here because I know the owners put thought and creativity into making this place feel like a second home or an Italian getaway! They have perfectly white table cloths and also have silverware in real cloth napkins, which is nice because they value their customers and obviously will give them nothing but the finest dining experience. Bella Cucina also plays light Italian music at the perfect noise level; it gets makes you feel like you are in Italy without the distractions like Chi
The person that I chose was Donato di Niccolo di Betta Bardi is also known as Donatello. I chose Donatello because his sculptures look very interesting and cool looking. Another reason is because He sounded like an interesting person to research. Donatello was well known because he was the greatest Florentine sculptor before Michelangelo (1475–1564) and was the most influential individual artist of the 15th century in Italy. Donatello was born during the Renaissance period in history which began in Northern Italy during the 14th century. It is believed while Donatello was with the Martellis family, he was given his first instructions on becoming a goldsmith. He would become the apprentice of Lorenzo Ghiberti in 1403. While he was living in Rome, he earned his living in goldsmith.
I choose this meal for one because I love spinach but also it had a five star rating on the website so I knew I couldn't go wrong with it. After making this meal which only took 40 minutes I thought it tasted really good and the family enjoyed eating it as well. I think even if I decided to start eating meat again I will still have this on the menu at least once very two weeks or so.
The video which topic was about Little Italy was a broad portrayal of what Little Italy is to this day. In the video, many people talked about family values and the importance of having home-cooked meals as a family, because it brings them closer to their Italian roots. Many people, who were showcased in the video mentioned that the table was a big part of their lifestyle. The table was the time of the day where the family would conjugate and discuss while enjoying a traditional Italian feast. Keeping the Italian traditions alive in American, since at the time many Italians were assimilating into the new culture, they wanted to find some elements of their home life to keep alive and to continue the traditions. Another way for Italian-Americans
The food I ordered was the pork chops. The chicken was scrumptious with the spices and the grilled bun. The smell of the pork chop was luscious. When I bit into the pork chop, it was savory, spicy, and sweet all at the same time. It had a juicy outside and a rich middle….delicious. For an extra I bought some chips. In the end my total was $8.00.
The idea of culture teachings in a child’s life has many different effects. Benvenuto Cellini, a Florence crafter and sculptor, wrote, “Rode off to Fiesole to see a natural son of mine, whom I was keeping at nurse with the wife of one of my workmen. When I arrived I found the boy in very good health… Sad at heart, I kissed him; and then when I wanted to leave he refused to let me go… breaking into a storm of crying and screaming… around 2 years old.” In his autobiography, Cellini went on to visit his child born out of wedlock, feeling “sad at heart”, he also mentions that when he had to leave, the boy cried even as he left, during the 1550s.(Doc. 2) This document, is somewhat different than the rest of the documents and actions during the 1550’s,
and steal. S. Tepper (2017) informs it’s disrespectful to talk-back to your elders. Stephen finds that it’s highly frowned upon if grace isn’t said before each meal. Stephen claims that the most celebrated holiday in the Italian Culture is Christmas (S. Tepper, personal communication, October 2017). Gathering with friends and family around this time is very important. Celebrating the birth of Christ and eating a meal with family and friends on this day is highly honored. S. Tepper (2017) explains that in his culture it is believed starting fresh with the new year and forgetting tensions with others is very affective.
Piccola Italia, in Coral Gables, dishes out fresh and authentic Italian dishes crafted with passion and knowhow in its charming and friendly eatery. For an ideal start to your meal, enjoy the crunchy and spicy chicken wings and the make-your-own salad, available with a variety of fresh and tantalizing ingredients. If pasta is what you crave, Piccola Italia has truly delicious variations, such as the shrimp and crab ravioli in tomato sauce, the penne pasta with broccoli, fresh garlic and olive oil and the mushrooms and grilled chicken pasta in a luscious vodka sauce. Before L arrived I ordered the Parker house rolls. This little brioches were delicious and it made me remember the taste of a home made croissant. In addition, the touch of the maldon salt increased the flavor of it and gave it tastes of pretzel. When L arrived we ordered the roasted artichokes with guanciale, anchovy butter, fava beans, black olive and hazelnuts. Despite the artichokes were a lite bit uncooked the flavor was really good. They cook it with respect to the product and we noticed the taste of fresh seasonal artichokes. with a great and imaginative presentation. We kept going with the spring risotto with asparagus, English pea, fava bean, spring onion, leek top and Parmesan: what I would highlight about this course is the completely lack of flavor. the rice was insipid and the presentation of the dish need some color. I have to say that to make a tasty risotto just using vegetables is hard but we had to eat individually the asparagus or the English pea to search some flavor in the dish. We end our dinner ordering the Beef tartar with preserved lemon relish, beet mustard and hazelnuts. I am sorry to say that the taste of the course was basically lemon relish it was so intense and present that I could not find the flavor of the meat. However, the potato chips used to serve the tartar where really good and tasty. 70 $ dollars later we were full but with a desire of
Donato di Niccolò di Betto Bardi, more commonly known as Donatello or “Little Donato”, was born in 1386 in Florence, Italy and died on December 13, 1466 in Florence, Italy. He was known for his realism in his paintings and sculptures. Donatello’s first real education was with the Martelli family, who were connected to the well-known Medici family. Here, Donatello gained artistic training about metallurgy from a goldsmith. Metallurgy is a branch of science regarding the fabrication of metals, along with other substances.
The assumption of the Virgin was painted for the spini family for their chapel in Florence. Neri di Bicci convery his own interpretation of the assumption of the virgin. The aritist combines traditional views of the assumption and yet gives his own take of this very important part in Christine history, while allowing the average person in the 14th century to understand this key biblical mounite. The artist doesn’t focus on one aspect, ie the death of mandona but foceses on the entire story to portay and overall andermation for the virgin mary. Mary was assumed body and soul into havean. Mary was assumed or taken up into heaven by God, that’s why in the painting one sees angles around her on other side, as if greeting Mary into the gates of heaven. The painting focues on
The dinning room was large as was the elegant antique table and the many chairs. There was space for comfort and conversation and yet a sense of intimacy, probably due to the original genre paintings on the walls that depicted seasonal and elegant meals and brought the room together. The first course was anchovies with roasted red peppers, and Italian salad dressing on lettuce leaves. Then a serving called Barbecue Shrimp that was baked in the oven and messy but delicious. The main course was Oso Bucco, a very popular Italian dish, but flavored with a spicy sauce that was concocted by the chef who was born and raised in Southern Louisiana. The vegetables were risotto and creamed spinach. Three different Italian wines were served throughout the meal, they were Verdichio white, Chianti Reserve and Santa Margherita Pinot Grigio Ignacio decided that dessert would be served in the library.
When eating this incredible tasting pasta I understand what it takes to make food so inviting. It has many different yet, incredible savory sauces and different ways of being crafted it can easily be adapted in diverse culture which makes pasta that more interesting. The pasta dish has come a long way from its original creation in the 18th century with its ingredients that consisted of only egg , flour, cheese, and cream; however, it has evolved into a food of art that has my taste buds more in-tact. Its roman herbs and spices give me a feeling of warmth and cheerfulness at the time of eating. Food of this stature should be a crime given my opinion because of the texture and taste only keeps me coming back for more. This pasta comes second to none; it’s my choice over all when it comes to my favorite
