Gavin Durden Ms. Herring 7th Grade ELA 11/9/17 How is bulletproof clothing made? People have a lot of questions about the bulletproof vest and I have written this story to answer all of these questions and even given you some facts. Like this one of them is what are they made of and other stuff like that. This story should answer all your questions. Bulletproof vests are made up of fibers that have been woven together to create a very strong material to help save you. Kevlar is one of the most important fibers in bulletproof vests because how strong it is. Another fiber, Dyneema, is made from a polyethylene which is a very strong fiber. They also make plates to put in the vest to save you from even more handgun and rifle rounds. Most
since then vest are now required to be worn by all riders at all times no matter what age in order to lessen injuries from the bulls hitting them. the vests are made of a special kevlar material and have a leather outer coating to make it blend in with the riders outfit for while he is on the bull .The vest, invented by PBR Livestock Director and former bull rider Cody Lambert, is worn by the PBR athletes for protection. It serves two primary purposes: it absorbs shock and dissipates the blow to the body, while protecting the torso from threatening punctures caused by direct contact with the bull's hooves and horns. ( professional bull riders,
The energy absorbed by the fabric in the armor is equal to the loss of kinetic energy carried by the bullet during impact.
A Man in his mid-30s was found dead at the bottom of a mineshaft with a gunshot wound. The man was found at 2:45 pm on October 20th 1990 after a women reported about witnessing the murder. The mine shack was located near Parry Sound Street. The man was depicted as blue eyes, blonde hair and a birth mark near his right ear. He wore a white t-shirt and black jeans with branded running shoes. He was found dead on his stomach with a small gun wound on his back chest.
World War Two's most famous contributions to the history of body armor is the flak jacket. Made from ballistic nylon, the flak jacket was "cumbersome and bulky" and "was ineffective against most pistol and rifle threats," (Bellis, n.d.). However, flak jackets were very effective in preventing casualties related to shrapnel. Shrapnel did account for as much as 70% of all Second World War casualties (Pike, 2011). No significant advancements in body armor were made between the end of World War Two and the 1970s. Even during the Vietnam War, flak jackets were still being used. In the 1970s, though, Kevlar was invented. Kevlar and other lighter weight materials allowed for constant protection that was relatively comfortable to wear. Moreover, the improved materials could protect greater surface area on the body. As Pike (2011) points out, "Most fatal penetrating injuries were caused by missiles entering through areas not protected by body armor, such as the face, neck, pelvis, and groin." Unlike earlier materials, Kevlar also
That world we are living is harsh and, therefore, we must do everything we need to protect ourselves and our families. That's exactly why having a gun is becoming more common in recent times. What is very important to know is you have to have a safe for your gun. This will not only protect your firearms from children, but this will also protect those guns from getting stolen. You should opt for a small gun safe if you have just one gun that needs to be wonderfully protected.
This vest weighed 11 lb (5.0 kg), fit close to the body, and was considered more comfortable.
Upon the reading of chapter ten that a bullet can go into a crime scene from either a right angle or left depending on whether the suspect was shooting the bullet from his or her right or left hand, or holding the weapon in the crime
In the past 45 years, there have been 27 shootings on various military installations with an approximate total of 78 killed and 120 injured. (Rothschild) Of those, six were prior to the 1992-gun policy directive set up by Department of Defense Deputy Director, Donald J. Atwood under President George H. W. Bush and modified by President William Clinton, restricting military personnel – with the exception of military and DoD police officers along with sentries – from carrying weapons on base (Darcy). Subsequently, there has been a rise in shootings on military installations, most of which could have undoubtedly been avoided if soldiers could properly protect themselves by having the choice to conceal or open carry on duty and off when on an installation. To avoid more bloodshed on bases, personnel must be properly equipped and ready at all times.
If you watch an action film, you see people get shot all the time. Sometimes it's stupid, most times it's stupid, but in war movies, it's pretty tragic. If you've ever seen someone shot in real-life, it's even worse. There is no classic lines, there's shock, fear, panic, crying, and the horrible unknowing of what happens next. One of the biggest things about a gun shot is that it's hard to seal. Most just know to put pressure on the wound and to get that person to the hospital as quickly as possible. But what if you could seal the wound in 20 seconds to give the victim a better chance at surviving the wound? Good news!
fiber and Kevlar for military applications. “But the frame and design of the InvinciBull helmet
Bulletproof vest are made of either ceramic materials, layered Kevlar, metal plating, tensil liquids or a variety of other materials depending on the calibre of the weapon being shielded against. Small hand guns with low power will be effectively protected against by vests made of Kevlar fabric while higher calibre weapons will require more protection. Hand grenades and shotguns may require metal plated vests. (“What is a Bulletproof made of”).

The outer shell of the helmet has 2 layers of carbon fiber. Carbon fiber is extremely strong and light. The construction of the outer shell begins with a thin layer of gel coat. After that a special resign is added to the shell. The special resign includes several types of glass, carbon, Kevlar, and other exotic fibers and weaves. Kevlar is what makes carbon fiber helmets extremely durable and light. All that added together is what gives the outer shell its glossy finish look. Underneath the outer shell is the BEADALL liner. BEADALL liner is a foam layer that is made of polystyrene or polypropylene. This layer of foam is put in the crown of the helmet, which makes it absorbs energy that the outer shell didn’t absorb at the time of impact. The last piece of the helmet is the form-fitting layer that is made out of nylon or Nomex, which is a fire retardant material that protects a racer from getting burned in case a fire does happen. You can also find that Nomex is used in firesuits. Today all race helmets have to have a snell rating in order to race. The snell rating is accumulated by a series of tests of impact done to the helmet, to see how well it holds up and if it flies off the test subjects head.
VICIS helmets use a form of engineering that is unique from how helmets have been made in the past. According to their website, the helmet is made with layers (like a parfait), and those layers work together to lessen the impact of a hit, both as they occur and over a period of time. The helmet also features a soft outer shell and an underlying layer of columns designed to weaken collisions from multiple directions.
Should people under the age of 18 be required to wear a protective helmet while skateboarding, in-line skating, bicycling, snowboarding and skiing? I believe truly believe so. The thrill in these activities, are to speed jump tricks and ride.
