After working my last job, I came to the conclusion that I am no longer able to work in my previous career field as a Business Analyst. My medical condition prevents me from being effective in this field. With this realization, I started my exploration of other career fields that will allow me to use my education and professional experience.
My undergraduate education is in Marketing and my graduate education is in Management. I had the opportunity to speak with a high level Marketing Executive about potential careers in marketing He reminded me that both my undergraduate and graduate education have prepared me for a career in marketing. When I told him of my physical limitations, he reminded me that the same limitation in my career as a Business Analyst would impact me as a Marketing Analyst

I have completed 6 hours of the class work requirements at South Mountain Community College. I can complete the remaining 18 hours by taking classes in the Maricopa Community College system. The only limitation that I will have relates to physical limitation. Before Multiple Sclerosis, I would have no issue with taking 4 or 5 classes simultaneously. I have chosen to research two career paths as an administrative assistant and a health unit coordinator. After concluding my research I’ve decided to focus more on a career as an administrative assistant position over a health unit coordinator position. In search of the different career paths I uncovered that an administrative assistant career has better stability, such as salary, scheduling, and a similar but a lighter work load than a health unit coordinator. Although there is also a difference in career ladder opportunities between both career paths. After obtaining research I’ve decided a career as an administrative assistant rather than a career as a health unit coordinator will be a better career path for me.

For the last 5 weeks in Cal Careers, we have been doing a simulation with the stock market. The amount of money we started with was $5,000. We observed different companies’ stocks and decided which stocks we wanted to buy. After buying stocks from 6 different companies, we recorded the amount of money they made us that week. As the weeks passed, we had to decide whether or not we wanted to keep our stocks or sell them. By the end of the simulation, we either made money or lost money.
My goals in communicating with consumers to promote my product is going to be to have feedback and communication both ways so that I am able to do any changes and get a better understanding of the ages of my target audience. I also want to be able to change any price points that need to be adjusted so that I am to make the product perfect for the target audience., personal selling.

On August 31, 2016 Assistant Dean Melissa Furman administered the Career Assessment Exercise in my Intro to Business class. The assessment had several questions to answer that eventually lead me to my ideal career based off my answers. The questions varied in several subjects like my leadership capabilities, learning interest, and my other likes or dislikes.
1. Introduce a new ad campaign with a trendy new message to appeal to a younger target market and alter the image of MEC. By developing a campaign that conveys the AOI’s of the consumer it would reveal to the new target that the company understands them and a stronger relationship will be established. Moreover, knowing the AOI’s of a customer will allow MEC to put ads in areas where effective impressions will lead to a sale (i.e. Internet, Outdoor Marketing, and other ads).
One thing that a lot of careers have in common is that people are required to communicate with others on a daily basis. This may be exciting for some, but not everyone is interested in discussing work, home life or anything with their coworkers, supervisors or even customers.
Sometimes it’s not so important that your product fits the exact needs of the segment you target; rather, it’s vital that customers perceive that you do, even if it’s not true. In order to achieve this, the proper amount of advertising and sending the appropriate message are both vital.
