Just a Bunch of Growers
When I thought of california I thought of sun, palm trees and warm weather. This is not one of those places. When I found out I was going to California, I packed a bunch of shorts. When I got to Petrolia I realized what a mistake I had made. Petrolia was not sunny and warm. For it was cold and dark where the hippies go to die and grow their weed. I stayed and my sisters bosses guest apartment above the garage. The apartment was dusty and filled with art work. Nobody had been in the apartment in quite some time. It smelled like old people. The apartment was just one room, a big living room with a kitchen and a bathroom. The bathroom was connected to both rooms. The toilet had a douche in it with a sign saying put toilet paper in the trash. The property was a small organic farm with a small man made pond and sauna with stain glass windows. The sauna was free for the whole town to use. It was a town full

The air was cold and windy. The beach was black, with small glossy pebbles, and shells. The shells on the beach where beautiful, shiny, and large bigger than my head. The water was gray with rocks that were big enough to climb on. The rocks held puddles of water with ocean life living in them. Small crabs where running over my feet as I sat on the rocks looking at the wave splash against it. A small trail going off of the beach, going to a
Amundsen 3 small abandoned lighthouse. Off of the side of the trail was a family of elephant seals. The elephant seals were bathing in the little sun on the beach. My brother and I walks down to the beach where they were. We stayed far enough away from them but close enough to get a picture of them. When we finally got to the lighthouse it was all rusted inside with glass bottles in it. My Mom and I picked up some cool looking bottles that we could put sand in it to display in our
Arizona is a beautiful place for anyone to live. Growing up in Phoenix has been quite the experience. I have had a few encounters with different animals such as snakes, scorpions, and coyotes. With mountains surrounding us all around it is hard to avoid these creatures. Each mountain has a different view to offer and they are the most unbelievable sites, especially when the sun is setting. The scenery in Arizona is something out of a book. It does get pretty hot in Arizona, but if you like the cold weather all you have to do is drive a few hours up north to experience snow in the winter and cooler temperatures in the summer. The most popular type of food in Arizona would have to be Mexican food. There is a variety of restaurants all around
Colorado, known for the Rocky Mountains, is a gorgeous place to be. The wildlife filled rectangular state covers 104,185 square miles. In the black timber, it is dark and silent, not a sound to be heard. The pine trees are so thick it blocks most of the sunlight from entering, only to see about seventy-five yards in front of myself. The terrain is rough and almost straight up and down, but the elk love it because it is a challenge for hunters to see them. As I walk my favorite ridgeline in the black timber, I watch for the slightest movement and listen for the smallest crack. Watching thirteen-lined ground squirrels run around and chase each other can be humorous sometimes to watch them fall down from the trees. I wait patiently for the chance
The beach is still. What once was golden with colour and joy, now lies dull colourless and blind. Waves crashing onto the moiled sand as the taste of sand over wheals my mouth. Not a body to be seen across the vast graveyard, the colour of grey drags in the air caving in on my every breath. While the only source of light comes from the moons reflection on the water. Playground swings sway hauntingly alone, not a bike or a skateboard anywhere nor a crack of laughter or a pep of moan. The smell of Fish and Chips has disappeared and so has the sight of crowds cheering the skateboards on. The sound of the ocean makes the atmosphere feel abandoned, dark, alarming but relaxed. Seaweed heads and shells lay undisturbed among the sand
Traveling is one of my family’s favorite things to do. The family has visited numerous places throughout the United States, however, none are as memorable as Atlanta, Georgia. In Atlanta, there are many places to go and sights to see such as: Cola-cola factory, Cabbage Patch Kids Factory, Under Ground Mall, the Zoo, Atlanta Braves Stadium, Six Flags Over Georgia, Stone Mountain Park, and the Atlanta Aquarium, are all in or near the city of Atlanta. The three that we visit on every trip to Atlanta are Six Flags, Stone Mountain, and the Atlanta Aquarium.
The ground was frosted with the elegant silver sand which oozed between my toes for every step I took. Every grain of the glossy particles tickled my feet as I immediately launched it backwards while progressing through my walk. The immense amber sunlight punctured my eyes forcing me to briefly avert to pull out my sunglasses. I slowly placed the stiff ends of the glasses above my ear until I observed my surroundings drop a level of brightness. I made out the glossy, tall glass buildings and skyscrapers created a mountain range across the thin horizon. A gust of wind hurled a storm of sand across practically into outer space, causing it to be even harder to identify the building shapes. The beryl sea went through metamorphosis and transformed into a gorgeous light blue shade for every time the sun struck it. The sea whispered to the seagulls and pigeons who constantly screeched as they scanned the territory in search of the smallest item they can call eatable. With hunger in their stomachs, they continued to screech while they pinched one another with their golden beaks over a simple stale, moldy french fry. A heard the chair calling for me since my body was worn out from the long drive, so I threw myself onto the firm plastic chair to rest. Almost like be trapped in a pile of gelatin, I slowly shut my eyes, and was able to clear the swamping of my brain to become the

My toes wiggling in the damp golden sand. The salty air invading my nostrils. Ocean waves are crashing up against the shore and receding back into the deep blue waters. The ultraviolet rays of the sun are heating my pale skin. William and the boys are building a large sandcastle. They cover the gleaming turrets with slimy brown seaweed and pristine white shells. The rolling hills to my right are a dark shade of green, having been healthily watered by the summer showers. Small feathery clouds move steadily through the gleaming blue limitless
As I put away the Lenovo keyboard and mouse, I felt a sudden and urgent sense of exhaustion. In a matter of seconds I fell back onto the couch and entered a trance of sleep. When I woke I realised that I had not really woken up; instead, I was merely lucid in my own dream. As I gazed around my setting I suddenly smelt a sharp fragrance of a barbados lily, it was a very sweet and honey like smell. I saw an endless amount of roystonea regia, which is a fancy word for those very common palm tree-like trees. They were so beautifully decorated in a green hue that was encompassed in a vibrant shine. I felt the what could only be sand underneath me, it was so hot, yet refreshing. I began to walk through the narrow course of trees until I saw an end to the path. Then I saw it, the ocean. It was like every movie I had ever seen. It was so clear due to the salt, and it glistened like a pasture covered
California is currently in a five year drought. Overall California is 98% encompassed by drought. This is a crucial problem that is not only affects the Californian citizens. Since the usa is the world’s fifth largest supplier of food, this caused farmers to fallow 500,000 acres of land in 2014. everyone can do their part in helping get California out of this never and take pit. The government encourages people to create water friendly yards and cut down on necessary watering. After all, more than 80 inches of rain will have to be the care to our time in need.
If you're into the beach and sun then you may be surprised to learn that every year from December 15 through April 1 is the best time to visit San Diego, at least as far as whale watching is concerned. This four-month timeframe is when at least 25,000 Pacific grey whales make their annual ocean migration from the South Arctic to Baja California with a stop over along the coast of this southern California community.
Beacon Hills has been considered my home for the past sixteen year of my life. Like every other town you could find in California, there's a store, a hospital, a park, a school; on the outskirts of town, you could find an old church, an apartment complex, a gas station, a police department, and just about anything else that makes up a town. Beacon County resides directly outside of the Beacon Hill Preserve, a large state forest surrounding the west side of town. Here in Southern California, residents reside in a charming little suburban township. It was the picturesque town. A place any family would consider raising a family. In a way, Beacon Hills seemed almost too perfect.
It took my breath away. We were on a cliff edge made of sharp, black lava rock. The hotel lobby looked out onto the ocean. I cherished this moment. The waves were calming and water looked as if it was dancing beneath the sunlight. It was a rich, blue in some spots and in others a bright, aquamarine, light green. Streaks of purple and turquoise speckled on the surface on the water. I hadn’t seen anything like it before. The shimmering, creamy, white sand gleamed in the sun’s heat. As the blue waves crashed against the black lava rock, the water sprang into the air shooting a light mist in the sky. The Grand Bliss truly is a beautiful destination. Waiting for our hotel room to be ready my family and I walked down to the beach to a little seating place called Mandy’s. I loved the feeling of the warm sand squishing under my feet it made my calf muscles clench to keep myself balanced. I stopped walking just before the tide touched my toes. I craved the water touching my skin so, at that exact moment so I tore off my tank top that I was wearing on top of my bathing suit and just stood there taking it all in, the sun on my bare tanned shoulders, the warm, comfortable sand beneath my feet, and the insane need to jump into the salty
We all know the big city that everyone loves to talk about and be a part of the experience of a lifetime which is Los Angeles, also known as L.A. It is one of the most known cities in California and around the world where people’s dreams come true. L.A. is best known for its beaches, entertainment, amusements, and the people around the city. It’s also known as “The City of Angels”, which is the spanish word for “Angeles”. It is the second most populous city in the United States after New York. I’ve always known L.A. as a big part of my life, being born in the city of luxury and fame. Growing up, I never knew how much of a big deal LA was until I was in high school. Being around so much popularity and seeing the opportunities that LA has brought to people was amazing to me. From the sports games, to the concerts, to the famous celebrities walking the red carpets brung so much excitement to me and I was glad to experience all of it.
My parents and I happily trudged out of our chilled condo room, weighed down by various beach supplies. We made our way to the elevator, slowly but surely exiting the maze we call our condo hallways. As we glided down, floor after floor, we finally reached the parking garage. We stepped out of the elevator feeling a mix of humidity and heat immediately cling to our tan bodies. We exited the garage to find a beautiful scene. Birds were flying overhead as there were sun rays beating down against white, hot sand. We crossed the bridge that held shoes and scattered shells. After we did so, we pressed our feet against the white sand that belonged to Destin, Florida. The sight was even more alluring than I had ever imagined.
The warm breeze of the ocean air flies past my face. The heat of the yellow sun was sizzling, beating down against my skin, tanning and burning it within seconds. Beach goers were crowded around in all directions. Seagulls gliding past the groups of people, scouting for dropped or forgotten food to eat. Their little footprints marking a trail in the sand all over the place, going in a million different directions, searching for their next meal. I take in the exquisiteness of it all, the blue-green waves crashing into the sandy shore, making white foam and bubbles wash into the sea, little boys and girls that are digging in the bright white sand running away from the small waves before they get wet. The beach is a stunning place to be; there's just something about the ocean waves and the sand between my toes that makes me just want to stay there forever.
