Arizona is a beautiful place for anyone to live. Growing up in Phoenix has been quite the experience. I have had a few encounters with different animals such as snakes, scorpions, and coyotes. With mountains surrounding us all around it is hard to avoid these creatures. Each mountain has a different view to offer and they are the most unbelievable sites, especially when the sun is setting. The scenery in Arizona is something out of a book. It does get pretty hot in Arizona, but if you like the cold weather all you have to do is drive a few hours up north to experience snow in the winter and cooler temperatures in the summer. The most popular type of food in Arizona would have to be Mexican food. There is a variety of restaurants all around
Colorado, known for the Rocky Mountains, is a gorgeous place to be. The wildlife filled rectangular state covers 104,185 square miles. In the black timber, it is dark and silent, not a sound to be heard. The pine trees are so thick it blocks most of the sunlight from entering, only to see about seventy-five yards in front of myself. The terrain is rough and almost straight up and down, but the elk love it because it is a challenge for hunters to see them. As I walk my favorite ridgeline in the black timber, I watch for the slightest movement and listen for the smallest crack. Watching thirteen-lined ground squirrels run around and chase each other can be humorous sometimes to watch them fall down from the trees. I wait patiently for the chance
First most, Arizona is known as one of the hottest states with temperatures sometimes reaching 120 degrees Fahrenheit. This temperature has been proven to be able to cook food items such as eggs and cookie dough. In addition to having hot weather, during summer Arizona begins its’ monsoon season with heavy winds and occasional rain. While this may not be appealing
Traveling is one of my family’s favorite things to do. The family has visited numerous places throughout the United States, however, none are as memorable as Atlanta, Georgia. In Atlanta, there are many places to go and sights to see such as: Cola-cola factory, Cabbage Patch Kids Factory, Under Ground Mall, the Zoo, Atlanta Braves Stadium, Six Flags Over Georgia, Stone Mountain Park, and the Atlanta Aquarium, are all in or near the city of Atlanta. The three that we visit on every trip to Atlanta are Six Flags, Stone Mountain, and the Atlanta Aquarium.
Arizona has many great land features like the Grand Canyon and Saguaro National Park. The state also has the beautiful Lake Powell and Lake Mead. If that isn’t enough there are golf courses, balloon flights, boating, fishing, kayaking, white water rafting, and many other activities (Arizona- Recreational Activities).

The State of Arizona is a very special place not only to me but to the world. The State of Arizona can be many things agricultural, a desert, extreme heat, snowfall, countryside, and densly populated, all of these things can describe Arizona. A downside of Arizona is during the summer it is the hottest state in America it is also one of the dryest which causes allergies very frequently. An upside to the heat is solar power and 90 degree free pool heating. Phoenix Arizona is one of the most populous cities in America but is very widespread making the city very diverse it can be populated and dense or peaceful quiet and natural. Arizona has many places to go depending on your prefrences wether it be peace and quiet, a fun adventure or even sightseeing. On
As I got off the plane, the scorching sun was already baking me. I had just landed in warm and sunny Arizona after spending the winter months freezing in Indiana. Unfortunately, I was only able to spend a week in Phoenix while my parents were doing business. My parents, Wendy and Aaron Joslin, were in Phoenix for a seminar on selling and producing cabinets. Despite the dull information on the new technology of cabinets, it was a week that taught me how to appreciate nature while also peaking my interest in the history of America, for that reason, I will always think pleasantly back to the time spent in Arizona.
As the plane made its way around for landing, the rigid and uneven surface of Arizona came into view. There was almost nothing to see besides the desert itself. Excitement fluttered through my body as the plane landed, and people exited the plane. Annoyance, problems, and stress were forgotten on the plane when we finally walked out into the glistening sun.
It is mine. The golden sun that shines and kisses the tops of my shoulders. The wisps of white clouds traveling within a baby blue sky. The gentle breeze that coils itself around my arms providing relief from the warming sun. The sapphire sea and its serene waves rolling gently out to shore onto the finely grained sand. It is all mine.
My hometown was Mesa, Arizona. As a kid, it was wonderful growing up there. Mesa is now much larger than it was when I grew up there, but as a child, your world always seems much smaller than it really is. We were very active as kids. My family and I spent a lot of time outdoors. We were very into sports as my brother and I both played soccer throughout our childhood, from a young age through high school. Every season was a new sport and during the summers when temperatures reached over 110 degrees, we’d tend to leave our hometown for cooler weather. Summers were often spent at the lakes either water-skiing, wake-boarding, or jet-skiing. Family friends would gather at the lake for a week at a time, or sometimes just the weekend to enjoy time in the sun and in the cool water. When we weren't on the water we'd be fishing or hiking. During the evenings, we'd cook, play games, and relax by the campfire.
Do you love gorgeous canyons, warm deserts, and the beauty of sunshine? If so, you'll love reading about my state, Arizona. I chose Arizona as my state because my parents used to live there, and I have been there on vacation. Remember how I was talking about sunshine earlier? Well, the highest temperature it has ever been in Arizona was 128°F. Arizona is a stunning state, with a captivating history, great agriculture and industry, a warm climate, and exciting attractions.
It all started in the middle of October, it was a cold day and I was feeling sick so I stayed home from school. There was a knock at the door and the faint shuffling of running feet. As I walked out from my room and through the livingroom my brain thought "oh I love it here in Pinetop, Arizona but I'm not fond of the cold weather". Whenever I tell a new friend online that it is cold where I live in Arizona they are quick to question me because they hear that Arizona is hot weather and sandy everywhere. But not all of Arizona is like that. There are a few place that it has tall trees and gets cold and even snows. Anyway, as I got to the door I stared outside and looked for someone walking or running away from my house. When I didn't see anyone
Every weekend in the Phoenix Metropolitan area, residents load up their vehicles with sleeping bags and barbecue grills, getting away from the city for the weekend.
I open my eyes and find myself standing on an old asphalt road, lined with identical houses. Cracks run through the pavement, breaking up the faded yellow lines. Everything is faded, like an old movie. It’s almost grayscale; you can barely see the color, like the life has been drained from this place. I turn my head to the sky, trying to make sense of this strange world. But the sky isn’t the typical blue, it’s a faded blood red, small flakes of ash falling from the sky. One piece lands on my upturned forehead, crumbling on impact. I turned back to face the road, gazing down the broken road. On an impulse, I walk.
The sun sparkled in like a kaleidoscope of light, spinning, hazy. The grass was warm underneath my bare feet, tickling up between my toes. The breeze tossed my bleach blonde curls around, keeping the temperature at a perfect degree. It had to had been mid-seventies with a slight humidity, the kind of weather that draws a person outside to bask in the sun, to frolic in the breeze, to enjoy the nature in front of them. The sun hid behind a perfectly cloud scattered sky. The plump objects transformed into the creatures of my imagination. The lake reflected the worlds psychedelic colors, mystic and free. Just there, across the lane from my palace, dwelled a magnificent floating spiral island. A place only known to my father, little sister and I. Although I was only four, I understood its secrets. The island was magical, including everything that surrounded it. We lived in a hidden area that only the chosen could find.
