In a world far far away there was a boy in desperate need of some after school activities. This boy went by the name of Cameron. His journey of finding fun began when he switched schools for the fourth time in four years. Cameron changed schools so much it became hard for him to make any real friends, until one day he almost gave up hope and there he was. The hero spoke with a stern voice reminiscing about the glorious adventures and journeys he had had. Then Cameron walked up he stopped and gazed upon the man and the man asked the lad would he like to have adventures, life full filling quests, and make lots of new friends in the process. The young fellow asked the hero what he meant and the ecstatic man shouts out “The Boy Scouts of America!”
Soldier Boys is a novel by Dean Hughes. The story takes place during World War II and tells the story of two teenagers, one American (Spencer Morgan), the other German (Dieter Hendrick), who join their respective armies and fight at the Battle of the Bulge to show their parents that they can do it. Both the boy's families are saddened by their leaving, and have many things in common. Both have a playful little brother and some sisters, as well as concerned parents. When Spencer helps an enemy back to his battalion he dies but Dieter will never forget how he tried to save him.
Not many young men have the opportunity to experience the adventure that I had, and I hope that changes someday. It revolutionizes kids to become the best they can be, and Scouts use me as a perfect example. They didn’t think that I could make it through Scouts as far as I did because I kept silent. Boy Scouts taught me about how to live life and do it with confidence, and I can finally tell my story comfortably and with
“Scouts Honor” by Avi is a realistic short fiction story about a nine-year-old-boy who is in scouting. In the beginning, the main character and his friends join scouts and they want to be tough and to earn the next rank in boy scouts, but they need to go camping. Soon they talk about going camping and the boys decide to go camping. When they left, they didn't have any experience camping, whatsoever. They go camping without an adult. In the end they try to cross the bridge, but they're scared and they push on. When they reach the other side they find a campsite and try to set up and they don't have enough food so they say that they weren't tough so they go home. Throughout the story the boys were not prepared.
While I was in The Boy Scouts of America, I have worked on countless Eagle Scout projects gaining multiple hours working on them. Eagle Scout projects are projects that once you reach a certain rank you can start working to get your eagles. One of the objectives to earn this award is to do a community service project that will benefit the community. For my own project, I worked a minimum of 20 hours. With lining it up and getting equipment and finding people who could help work with me I also helped as many as I could as well.

The book “Radioactive Boy Scout” is a true story about a boy named David Hahn that attended a Michigan high school. His goal was to set out and build a fast breeder reactor in his garden shed. He educated himself in these things by reading popular mechanics and the golden book of chemistry experiments. Whatever he could not get from laboratory suppliers, universities, hospitals, and nuclear agencies, he made himself. David collected household smoke detectors and extracted americium-24. He also got assembled gas mantle covers and pulverized them to get radioactive thorium and took the Geiger counter in to an antique shop where he found a clock with a phial of radium paint left in it. With a little bit of things he had
This case deals with the Plaintiff's expulsion from his position as Assistant Scoutmaster in a Boy Scouts of America (henceforth called "BSA") troop due to his status as an active homosexual. Dale, the Plaintiff, was serving as an Assistant Scoutmaster in 1990, when, due to a local newspaper article, it was discovered by officials in the local Monmouth BSA Council that he was an active homosexual. A letter was sent to Dale by the Council, notifying him of their decision to revoke his membership in the organization. Dale sent a letter in response, asking why this action was taken. The Council then notified Dale that his homosexual activities made him ineligible for membership in the BSA, as well as making
In the "Radioactive Boy Scout" the author tells us about David Hahn, a teenage boy who tries to build a homemade breeder nuclear reactor in 1994, at the age of 17. He was a scout in the Boy Scouts of America, and secretly conducted experiments in a backyard shed at his mother 's house in Clinton Township, Michigan. Even though the radioactivity given off by his reactor never reached a dangerous state, when he was stopped by the police for another reason they found materials in his vehicle that were dangerous. Ten months later, his mother 's property was cleaned up by the Environmental Protection Agency.
In 1848, shopkeeper Henry Angel started a trading post to meet the needs of gold miners who had flocked to the foothills of the Sierra Nevada during the California Gold Rush. Thus Angels Camp was named, resting in the heart of Calaveras County, and although there’s no longer much gold here, the destination is rich many other ways.
The United Way of America is an organization which takes in donations from people and businesses and distributes the funds to programs across the nation to help serve the community.
My Supreme Court case is Boy Scouts of America v. Dale which took place in early 2000. James Dale was a member of the Boy Scouts and was in fact an Eagle Scout who got his membership to the Boy Scouts of America revoked when they found out that Dale was a homosexual and gay rights activist. Dale had been a boy scout his whole life, and happened to be an assistant scout master in New Jersey at the time that his membership was revoked. Basically this case was questioning whether or not an organization can be forced to accept a member into their home if their beliefs and daily manners go against the heart and sole nature of the organization.
The article “Boys Scouts Should Not Backtrack on Its Values” by Mathew Staver states about allow homosexual Scouts and Scoutmasters among their ranks. The author is conservative, with outdated beliefs and xenophobic mind. He states if they open places in Scouts for homosexual people “The Scouts would become a sham.” (Mathew Staver, 16) using an event dated in 1999 which in Canada when the Scouts opening positions for homosexual people their membership start fall and disagreeing on allow homosexuals.
Outside of school, Tom enjoyed participating in his boy scout troop where they went camping, fishing, and collected badges. One thing that Tom absolutely loved doing was going to (whos) farm. He loved going over there because it was so much fun and he loved to spend time with his uncle (which one) The farm was unique because they did not have running water and had to pump it from outside, no inside toilets, no electricity and had a big washtub everyone had to share. With the farm being in Ohio, their winter season gets extremely cold and one morning, Tom was sent to go get a pitcher of water. When his bare hands grabbed the metal pump, the immediately froze and got stuck! Tom could not just rip his hands off the pump for it would tear the skin. He yelled for (who) to bring out a bucket of water to pour over his freezing, stuck hands. When Tom was about the age of 12, he wanted to do something fun when he was home all
Facts of the case: In 1978, James Dale joined Monmouth Council Cub Scout Pack 142. He continued participating in the Scout program, eventually attaining the rank of Eagle Scout in 1988. After Dale turned 18, he applied for and was accepted to the appointment of Assistant Scoutmaster to Troop 73. In 1989, Dale began attending College at Rutgers University. After coming out as gay, he became very involved in the local LGBT community; utilizing his position as co-president of the Rutgers Lesbian/Gay Alliance to raise awareness about issues affecting LGBT youth. After his opinions were published in a local newspaper in July of 1990, Dale was dismissed from the Scouts. Monmouth
If I was able to form any club, I would create one for the Boy Scouts of America program. The reason for this is because the Boy Scouts program helps shape youth into well-rounded, organized people. The Boy Scouts program sets values for the scouts with their Scout Oath and Scout Law. Scouts are also taught important skills by completing merit badges such as Personal Management, Cooking, Swimming, etc.
