As a doctor in Cuba, I have had a good education and it was paid for by the government. From the first day of school, I’ve never had to pay anything. Now, as a grownup, I am a doctor. I get paid $62 in Cuban pesos a month. My home is paid for by the government. The government also pays for my food, but it’s not enough to go through a month. I decided that it’s time to find a better country to live in. I’ve weighed all my options, and I think that Canada has the stronger economy, the better form of government, and the more comfortable way of living. In a new country, I would need to find a good-paying job fast. In Canada, there are more hospital beds than doctors. This would mean that I would have more patients and I would get paid more. In Canada, the average pay for doctors is about $225,500 (The Globe and Mail). I would be earning more in Canada than in Spain, $2,872, or in Argentina, $5,000 (The Globe and Mail). I need to be positive that the country I choose is the better. Compared to Argentina, Canada is a better country to immigrate to. Unlike Argentina, the Canadians have internet access. Usually, if there is an economic problem, the internet is taken away. Also, Argentina’s life-expectancy is lower compared to the Canada, so it must not be as healthy. Argentina is the lowest ranker in the Human Development Index. It isn’t as “modern” as Canada. Canada is better than Cuba and Argentina. Unlike either Cuba or Argentina, Canada has an extremely high GDP, the more effective process of making decisions, and the highest development ranking. Out of the other two countries, Canada is the best place to move to. It has the stronger economy, the better form of government, and the more comfortable society to live in.
