Using the Accenture document on governance presented with the Alcan case, place Canadian Shield in the appropriate quadrant.
According to the Accenture document, I would place Canadian Shield within the efficient, predictable operator category. The slow rate of change and need to compete on operational efficiencies characterized by most companies in this quadrant is detailed by the following quote from the case authors. “Sustainability for Canadian insurance companies greatly depended on investments in projects that increased customer service and improved operational efficiency.” This comment is aligned with the predictable operator company practices and is evidence that in order to gain a competitive advantage in the Canadian insurance

However, to AC and Seamus that unfortunately is the truth.
Since the proximity of the new ISS system being implemented is close and it has taken so long to arrive at this point, taking a traditional view of sunk costs will not be easy for the employees at CS. Despite this sentiment, it is important that executives remain objective when determining the future direction of the company. This project should be treated the same as if were any other business project such as a building and if it no longer viable it should be seen as a sunk cost and a new project should be selected for implantation.
A sunk cost is not necessarily considered a loss however, if CS decides to abandon the ISS project that is exactly what it could and in my opinion should be.

The Canadian legal system was influenced dramatically by the Persons case, the Napoleonic code and the Magna Carta. First, the Persons case significantly influenced the Law system as known today. The Persons case, which took place in 1926 was regarding Emily Murphy, an Alberta police magistrate, otherwise known as a judge. While judging a case, her ruling was challenged because according to the British North America Act, women weren’t considered “persons.” In order to change this, Emily Murphy along with the Alberta Famous five started the legal process to prove that women were persons in 1928. The Famous five took the government to court, first at provincial level, then the Supreme Court, however they were unsuccessful. In 1929, the women

While NASA may have once been the leading space organization in the world, the cuts and budget changes are not giving NASA what it needs to succeed. Today, NASA makes up around .5%, or $17 billion, of the national budget. This number is much smaller than the 4.5% in 1966. The United States government is cutting many different organizations and administrations in an attempt to balance the budget. The launching of a NASA space shuttle alone costs around half a billions dollars. Along with research and other things being made by NASA, it is extremely hard for the administration to launch shuttles. The government is being forced to turn its money from NASA, due to the high cost of building and launching rockets, and pay the private companies to take materials and government equipment to the International Space Station. Because of the cuts, various NASA projects are being shut down and abandoned. In 2005, the funding cuts threatened the longest running mission that NASA was running at the time; the Voyager probes. The Voyager probes are two probes that are headed into
