Two of the world’s most popular and diverse economic systems are Communism and Capitalism. Capitalism, or a free enterprise economy, is an economic system constructed by the freedoms of the marketplace. The capitalist economy has several promising advantages. The capitalist government subtly changes and adjusts to the current conditions with ease. A communist system can be defined as an economic system where many, if not all, factors of production are controlled and owned by the government.

The term capitalism is an economic system where the people in the capitalistic economy own and operate the majority of businesses. A capitalistic economy uses the method of laissez-faire, which derives from Adam Smith, and means that there is a limited role of the government in the economy (Pride 14).

Capitalism is the best economic system for any country because it allows individuals to make their own business decisions, and be self-motivated, it confines the authority owned by the government. Capitalist countries are more technologically advanced and better educated as compared to socialist countries. Capitalism is different from socialism in many respects.

Capitalism is a social system based on the principle of individual rights. Politically, it is the system of laissez-faire (freedom). Legally it is a system of objective laws (rule of law as opposed to rule of man). Economically, when such freedom is applied to the sphere of production its result is the free-market. Although socialism may have better benefits, capitalism has it perks as well. Such as producers and consumers being able to own their own business. The upside of this is that no one other than the government can take the business away from the owner. This results in more rights for the owner. An example of improved rights of the owner could include the owner making their own regulations, deciding wages for employees, choosing how to insure their business, etc. Now the big picture that this focuses greater upon is that it greatly promotes self-interest, rather than government control.

Cultural misconceptions have suggested that capitalism is bad because it has lead to a large separation of wealth from the wealthiest individuals in a nation. The separation of wealth is not a misconception but I believe that blaming capitalism and wealthy individuals for societies economic woes are. I also do not believe that socialism is a bad thing either. I believe that both capitalism and socialism have a place amongst our society however I would lean towards capitalism because of an emphasis on utilizing resources to create more consumer goods where as socialism emphasizes evenly distributing resources.

Capitalism is basically the form of society we have in America. Capitalism is where there is a collection of individual businesses that are individually owned with little influence by the government. These businesses are set up by three things human skill, human manpower, and resources.
