Christopher Johnson Mccandless, an intelligent young man, dies while trying to live in Alaska; by choice. The death of Mccandless was a controversial matter: people argued their thoughts on Mccandless’ story, and who's to blame for Mccandless' death. Some say it’s Mccandless’ own stupidity, or his honorable seek for thrill. Others say it’s his parents’ horrible way of raising him, or nature’s unforeseen acts. However, it is a mixture of all these, with Mccandless being the most at fault. Mccandless might have had choices, but there were things he couldn’t control, neither can anyone else.

Capon Chapel is a mid-19th-century church near the town of Capon Bridge in the US state of West Virginia. A Baptist congregation began gathering at the site of the present-day church as early as 1756. The land belonged to William C. Nixon, a member of the Virginia House of Delegates, and later to the extended family of Captain David Pugh of the West Virginia House of Delegates. Capon Chapel was used as a place of worship by Baptists until the late 19th or early 20th century, by the Southern Methodist Episcopal Church for most of the 20th century, and in this century by the United Methodist Church. The church cemetery contains the remains of John Monroe (one of the first ministers at the site), Nixon, Pugh, American Civil War veterans from the Union and the Confederacy, and free and enslaved African Americans.

Great Britain wanted to take the new land by storm and the king was determined to make money off of the lands natural resources. Unfortunately the geography of the land made it hard to settle Charles Town, its many rivers, rigid mountains, and thick swamps made it nearly impossible to explore this land. This land was described as “flat and woody” making it easy to get lost but That wasn't enough to stop explorers from coming and taking over South Carolina, there first settlement was in Charles Town, the land they had first set foot on. Then they built their first colonies where they would face more problems and make new enemies.

In Philadelphia, Pennsylvania of 1837, the first higher education institution for African Americans was founded on February 25th given the name Institute for Colored Youth (originally the African Institute). After changing its name again to Cheyney University of Pennsylvania and moving to Delaware County, Pennsylvania, it continues as the oldest predominantly African American school of higher learning. The institute was founded by Richard Humphreys, a Quaker philanthropist who donated 10,000 dollars to establish a school that would educate young African American male and females the skills needed to become more competitive in the job market (Conyers, 1990). Carrizo springs, a small town that I call home, I’ve lived here all my life, since 1999. I have one word to describe about Carrizo Springs: challenging. I illustrate my hometown as challenging since theirs about 6,000 people living in Carrizo Springs. Therefore, each class gets about 140 or less kids. December 1, 1997. Michael Carneal, 14, armed with a semi-automatic pistol killed three classmates and injured five others. He was regularly teased as a “dweeb” or “faggot” had been called “gay” in the school paper and was regularly bullied. Carneal had also experienced rejection from the girl he liked. She was the first person he shot. Once arrested Carneal said he had grown tired of being teased (Leary, Kowalski, Smith and Phillips, 2003).

Marisol is one of my sibley buddy and she is a very shy and quiet girl. She's excited everyday to learn new things. She loves to read and work on her vocab and she gets better every time I review with her. She spends lots of time with her grandma and she admire her a lot. She loves to color and play with dolls. She also loves to listen to hispanic music with her family. Another thing Marisol loves to do is play outside in the snow and in the summer and her favorite color is pink. My other buddy is Chris, chris is very stubborn but, but very out going. He’s excited to see me everytime I come. I am very glad i never missed a day at sibley because I know it would disappoint him. He’s always excited to play games but is very hard to get him to want to learn. He loves to play with legos and cars. My name is Romane Talleyrand. I was born in a west indie island, Haiti. The west indie islanders specifically the Haitian people have a very distinct culture in regard to food and to their health. As mentioning of the culture, one of the primary sources of remedy is herbal. Haitians consider health to be a personal responsibility and self-treat as a way to promote health or prevent disease. Home remedies are typically used first before seeking help, and may include herbal preparations, massage, or over the counter medications. Haitians only seek medical care when it becomes clear that an illness requires attention.
