I feel that this case was somewhat representative of what was discussed in the textbook. The forensics aspects of this case were generally different from the impression of forensics I received from reading the textbook. Despite this fact, I feel that the investigative techniques of this case were similar to what was discussed in the textbook, as well as what has been discussed during lecture.

Supportive Housing (SH) is not limited to but inclusive of housing and community services together making it cost effective for those who are less likely to access such services and be homeless or stress the local social and legal systems. According to the state of New Jersey, this program is to offer those who are mentally ill a choice to have permanent, safe, affordable housing. This design will be for the adult forensic population so it is stated as Forensic Supportive Housing (FSH). It is a subsidized program where the consumer to occupy the unit will pay 40% of their income for the rent and the state will provide the remaining portion of the rent to be paid not exceed the Fair Market Value Rate (FMVR).

Forensic databases have grown with our advancements in technology that law enforcement uses a forensic DNA database that uses a method called, familial matching. Familial DNA searching looks for partial matches that can not only match the suspect’s DNA, but the suspect’s family line. This is unlike the typical DNA database that law enforcement has used for years. For that DNA database makes an exact match between the suspect of the crime and his or her DNA sample. Familial DNA searches have been found to be beneficial to Police and Criminal Investigators, and Crime Analysists. I was once told that every entomologist has some sort of origin story – a distinctive moment when it became clear that they had a connection to insects. My story starts when I was eight, and I had just arrived home after school to find a red wasp perched right on the door handle to my house. A forensic technician is a person trained to examine evidence and report his/her findings to the proper authorities. The type of technology used by a forensic technician will vary depending upon the type of evidence he/she must process. Such technology includes, but is not limited to 3D facial reconstruction, magnetic fingerprinting, and high-speed ballistics photography (Becker, 2013). The types of evidence to be processed can range from distorted digital images, to comparing DNA samples, to determining bullet trajectories (Young & Ortmeier, 2011). Popular television shows, such as NCIS and CSI, have glorified the forensic sciences, while offering viewers a glimpse into the world of forensics.

I joined my most important activity freshman year. I participated in forensics despite the fact my heart rate spiked if someone mentioned public speaking. My first year was a constant struggle; I faced my biggest fear and never succeeded at competitions. However, the challenges I endured make the team so important to me; forensics even led me to my closest friends. After talking to more mirrors and taking an honors speech course, I am a captain, mentor, conference champion, and distinguished state competitor. Without forensics, I would never have transformed my biggest fear into one of my strongest skills.
