Grand Canyon University integrates faith with every other accept of life; like work, learning and service with the intent to honor god. Being a Christian university doesn’t mean that only Christians are welcome. GCU welcomes students from all beliefs and ethnicities and focuses on providing clarity and unity in matters of ethics and moralities. I believe that the Christian heritage of the university makes our academic experience different than the experience at a non-faith university by emphasizing the importance of being an ethic person that can interact in a community as a functional human being. The values that we are going to be taught in the next two years of our life, no matter from what religion you are from, are core values that every
The most important (well second to a good education) I am looking to find in a college is a good community. My whole life I have grown up a Christian, I have been involved in my church for as long as I can remember and my family has always been very supportive when it comes to my faith. However, being a Christian in high school has been hard. I currently go to a small charter school, and although the peer pressure isn't as present as it would be in some big schools,
I have wanted a college education for many years, but haven’t known where to begin. Once I looked into Christian Colorado University (CCU) I knew I wanted to attend. I want to be a part of a community where I can earn an education while being able to share my faith in God with other students. I feel that being accepted into Christian Colorado University would be the first step in advancing my education, and my faith. I would like to be able to be a part of a university that allows me to learn academically, and strengthen my relationship with God. Overall, many experiences in my life have changed me. However, the miracles in which I witnessed at IHOP, has given me stronger faith. Now I am finally ready to begin my college education. I think attending a school where I can connect with others in terms of faith would be a blessing. I look forward to this journey and opportunity at CCU. I plan on pursuing Theology as a Major. My experience at IHOP led me to want to learn more about God. I have the confidence I need, the spirit of the Lord living within me, and I know that with God the impossible doesn’t exist. Thank you, Erika

At this point in my life I feel that I am ready to begin to study for my career. For several years I have wanted to go back to school but wasn’t always one hundred percent sure what I was going to do. Through life experiences and working various jobs I am confident that Colorado Christian University will meet my needs as a student. I am also enthusiastic about attending classes such as Biblical Studies and Christian Leadership which will help me grow in my faith. I currently am teaching kindergarten Sunday School, and the biblical studies or Christian leadership class will help me in teaching the kids about The Bible. Completing a degree at Colorado Christian University will help me grow professionally and personally. By taking classes in the Health

Community colleges have turned into a staple of numerous areas offering quality college-level courses for individuals not able to go to a traditional four-year institution. Then again, numerous students view community colleges in a negative light. Some trust it's an inviting zone for the average and "not sufficient."
Attending a community college usually makes people cringe. It is not the first pick of an average high school student. Community colleges are hardly ever advertised however, the traditional four-year schools are. Throughout all four years of high school the word university is drilled into student brains so exploring the idea of attending a community college does not stand a chance. The football and basketball teams, the sororities and fraternities, to having the bragging rights for attending a well-known university is what students imagine when going to college. Even though students transfer from community colleges into four-year schools, the idea of attending community college is perceived to be the easy way out or a lack of effort. In the

If we look at the current perception of the community college, it is not a stepping stone any more, nor is it a feeder to the major university, it is a stagnate pond few make it out
Many times the reputations associated with community college is that they are “less academically serious”, “the lazier choice”, or that “anyone can get in.” But as times start to change and different factors are put into consideration, these accusations are not true. In fact, community colleges may actually seem like the smarter choice especially to start off with.
While they do have a tremendous focus on workforce development and training, the opportunity to take a more active role in higher education exists. By adjusting their focus to act as a bridge for students, the community college has the ability to soften the transition financially and educationally. Community colleges must move beyond their reliance on open acceptance policies and actively pursue students who would otherwise attend universities. By offering comparable course tracks that will challenge and educate they can move even further past the image of being a second class institution. More focus must be placed on both building articulation agreements with the universities and educating potential students about the benefits of making the community the next stop on their education
