A Concord-Carlisle High School student was arrested after allegedly writing serious threats against the school community.
The incident at Chattooga High school is an example of censorship because due to personal bias, a decision is being made to exclude something. However, the principle was well within his rights to remove these photographs because while the second amendment applies in a public school setting, courts have permitted limitations decided by school officials. In my opinion, the choice to remove these photographs, while lawful, is not just because an implication is not enough to go off of to make a choice. In this situation I would create a petition, garnering as many signatures I could from students and teachers alike to reinstate these
Samuel was last enrolled this past school year full-time in the New Directions School at S.H. Clarke Academy. He was in the General Educational Development (GED) program. Prior to attending New Directions School, he attended Churchland High School as a 10th grader. He had numerous suspensions while at Churchland High School and was placed at New Directions as a result of continued behavioral issues.
Greetings! As a rising 8th grade student at Sun Valley Middle School in Indian Trail, I would like to describe the problems I have continued to view within the school system and provide ideas on how to fix them. First, I feel the curriculum should be altered. One could observe that a rife of the knowledge we learn in school will either be forgotten entirely later in our lives, must be relearned as a result of how long ago it was taught, or most commonly, the knowledge rattles around in our heads and lacks use.Take for example, the formula for calculating electric current. The vast majority people will not find themselves needing to calculate the wattage of an electrical appliance unless they are an engineer or electrician. Even if you were to have a job in either of those positions, you certainly would not be
Mr. Diaz is currently the assistant principal at John C. Fremont High School located 7676 S San Pedro St, Los Angeles, CA 90003. However, before becoming an assistant principal, Mr. Diaz was a guidance counselor also at Fremont High School. When asked about the high crime rate and heavy gang presence in the Florence-Firestone area, Mr. Diaz stated that the lack of positive role models and the needed guidance is to blame for heavily gang involvement in this area. Many of these young teens lack the necessary confidence in them to avoid peer pressure to get the best out of them. As a result, they become a product of their environment because they do not believe they can be someone else beside a gang member. However, “we as a school have implemented
Ms. Leavitt reported problems continued in the marriage. She reported that the children were both in school and the father continued to stay home. She reported that he was unable to maintain employment, which caused more stress in the home. The mother indicated that she continued to financially support the family since Mr. Wilner lost his job in 2012. The father reported that he continued to be the stay home parent and care for the children. He indicated that he would take them to and from school and help the children with their homework. Mr. Wilner reported that he was looking for work but it has been difficult to find a job working around the children school schedule.
Mount Desert Island High School (MDIHS), maintains a rigorous academic setting, providing students with high quality instruction through courses centered around their needs. Located on the northern coast of Maine, MDIHS serves families from five surrounding mainland and four outer island communities (MDIHS, 2016, p.1). The students possess a rich collection of backgrounds and socio-economic statuses, however, the 70 faculty members and 20 support staff work tirelessly to prepare each of them for their unique future (MDIHS, 2016, p.1). This strategic technology plan will explore how the online learning platform Moodle could be integrated over a two year period to provide students with greater curricular flexibility. This technology will allow

Have you ever wanted to change something in your school? Yes, we think that for the health, welfare, and safety changes need to be made at Floyd County High School. Simple issues such as better bathrooms and school food could possibly change the way a student looks at school. Many children can tell you many problems that they would liked to be improved. Here are some of the issues that we think could improve.
It’s no secret that Leaguetown High School’s students are statistically unhealthier than those of the average American high school. While recognizing this problem, I believe that the current proposal to limit food options and increase food prices in an effort to counteract this trend is completely the wrong way to solve it.
Ever since I traveled with Minooka Tap on the 2012 trip to Japan, Melanie has been enamored with the notion of studying abroad. In short, she was envious of me, and without even knowing what the trip was going to be, she already knew when it was her turn she would definitely apply. Through me, she already understands the ropes of Minooka Tap, and what it is all about. She understands that this group demands time and commitment--she is prepared to give it her all.
Coco went to Peréz Zeledón, Costa Rica last summer as a participant with Amigos. She is a junior at Shorecrest High School, an active member of her community, and a hopes to stay involved with Amigos throughout her lifetime. When my youth group leaders announced that the annual service trip would be to the Bahamas, immediately every student in that room was interested. Google searches brought up beautiful, vivid images of sandy beaches and crystal clear water, a sight we did witness as we flew from the rather large and busy Florida airport. The sight quickly transformed from the vacation hub we had imagined to what we came to know as the island of Eleuthera. Greeted by a non-air conditioned one roomed airport was indicative of the week we had ahead of us. Our journey began on an hour long bus ride to our camp; cruising down dirt roads, windows down at sixty miles an hour, blasted with nature's A.C. Our days started at six o'clock for breakfast and then off to
Mr.Hughes first heard of it over the summer and his initial reaction was that “I will never be able to bring my whole staff here, but lo and behold they we were”. As hoped and expected from spending hours together in a plane and a hotel Mr.Hughes was pleased to see that his class is that much more close and cohesive “One of my favorite moments from the trip is
