(4) Homework room: The room emergency light indicates a fault. (29 CFR 1910.37, NFPA 101 Ch. 7.9) RAC 4 (III D) = Low. Recommendation: Submit a service order to have the system inspected and repaired.
(5) Playground: Several spots of flaking paint were found on the large climbing structure. (CPSC Playground Safety Handbook and AR 608-10) RAC 4 (III D) = Low. Recommendation: Submit a service order to have the climbing structure flaking paint area repainted.
(6) Playground: The grass part of the playground is not completely even because standing water was identified after a rain. (CPSC Playground Safety Handbook) Furthermore the grass is not fully grown; bare spots can result in tripping hazards. Recommendation: Submit a service order to have the bare spots reseeded.

RAC 4 (III D). Recommendation: Currently a ramp to the parking lot is already installed but a safety concern is the exit discharge. If a person with crutches go out that way he could trap them inside the wiping grate and drop. In order to prevent this, a drainage rubber mat in front of the back exit door could not be placed because of its height. However, in this case the wiping grate must be replaced or covered with an anti-slip material such as checker

The second choice for the alternative design for Dynacorp would be Functional / Product matrix of strategic design. Dynacorp manufactures a range of products in the field of global information systems and communications. Since it has the major functional structures defined such as engineering, manufacturing and marketing, it can be linked to the various products Dynacorp manufactures. This allows comparatively easier transformation from the existing structure.

In this case study, first year third grade teacher, Maggie Lindberg, is having trouble controlling her class. The children are well-behaved during their art period. However, when Ms. Lindberg is in charge, they are highly uncontrollable. They talk when they are not supposed to talk and they don’t listen to anything that Maggie says. There’s supposed to be a nature walk/field trip and Ms. Lindberg’s class has yet to complete the task.
Although there is arguments that playgrounds can be made too safe where they are no fun are made, for the sake of the argument I will focus on the side that wants them really safe. This side of the arguments believes that all schoolyards need to have rules such as to, “Avoid playgrounds with non-impact absorbing surfaces, such as asphalt, concrete, grass, dirt or gravel. Recommended surface materials include: sand, pea gravel, wood chips, mulch and shredded rubber. Rubber mats, synthetic turf and other artificial materials are also safe surfaces and require less maintenance. Surfacing should be at least 12 inches deep and extend at least 6 feet in all directions around stationary equipment. Depending on the height of the equipment, surfacing may need to extend farther than 6 feet. For swings, make sure that the surfacing extends, in the back and front, twice the height of the suspending bar. So if the top of the swing set is 10 feet high, the surfacing should extend 20 feet.” Along with all the regulations and rules, they would hop to also have it well supervised and inspected. They say that qualified personal need to constantly be checking up on the schoolyards and maintaining them. Although this side may have some good reasons about children safety it still may not good developmentally for children if they are not interacting with nature and using their imagination to their
The main purpose or mission of the Greenhill Community Center was to provide human service programs for learning, growth, and enrichment throughout life within an intergenerational setting. The mission seems to fill the need in the demographical setting of the location. The center is located in one of the poorest cities on the East Coast. In the textbook it states a mission as being “the reason an organization exists, and it must be the starting point for its planning.” (Worth, p.172) The mission of the center is very sound, but in the process of hiring a new director, I think the mission focus was lost. I saw a couple of incidences of “mission creep“ in the reading. (Worth, p.173) One being the focus the trustees put on not
Explain to her (through her daughter as necessary) what you will be doing. You might want to explain that t takes extra time to listen to her heart & that just because you listen for a long time does not indicate there is a problem. Move your stethoscope in inch-long increments, in a Z pattern across the chest, from the base of the heart, across & down, then over to the apex. Although heart sounds are generally lower in pitch,
1. What is meant by the globalization of human capital? Is this inevitable as firms increase their global operations?
I do not understand how can someone see people be treated the way patients at Willow brook were treated and no do anything about it. Patients at Willow brook were suffering. Seen their families talk about what they went thru made me very sad. I do not blame the parents for taking their sons/daughter to this facility. They did what they thought was right. They probably never imagined that this was going to happen. They took their children there thinking they were going to get help and get the right treatment. Thankfully some of them were taken from their families just in time, before something worst happen. The students and their parents, they were all victims of the inhumane way they were treated at Willow brook.
Scott Starson, a brilliant physicist has been in and out of mental institutions due to his bipolar disorder. He was lastly admitted again after he made death threats to his roommates and was found not criminally responsible for that offense. His physicians suggested different sorts of treatment for his illness. Scott Starson refused to give consent to the treatment for reason that he had a scientific research to finish and he didn’t want the medications to slow him down. His physicians not finding him competent enough to critically make that kind of decision, brought the case
My buddies and I swung on the faded yellow and purple playground equipment, played basketball on their beat down courts where half of the hoops were slanted and colorless, and played soccer on their net-less goals which were offset from each other and rusting. No kids -- just the remains of a building I formerly called a second home. The weeds were unkempt and thriving on the wood chip playground and between the cracks in the cement, which were quite common, as the building had been abandoned for just about a year. It seemed like yesterday kids were chasing me in childish playground games as I would run and scream and evade the kids in
Southwestern University: F The recent success of Southwestern University’s football program is causing SWU’s president, Joel Wisner, more problems than he faced during the team’s losing era in the early 1990s. For one thing, increasing game-day attendance is squeezing the town of Stephenville, Texas and the campus. Complaints are arising over parking, seating, concession prices, and even a shortage of programs at some games. Dr. Wisner, once again, turns to his stadium manager, Hank Maddux. This time, he needs a guaranteed revenue stream to help fuel the stadium expansion. One source of income could easily be the high-profit game programs. Selling for $6 each, programs are a tricky business. Under substantial pressure from
