South Jersey is a truly unique area. There are different customs, distinctive sayings and words, and rarely can you not find something to do. Most people from outside this area know us for the Jersey Shore, booming with rides and local shops along the boardwalks. Along with multitudinous amounts of family activities the New Jersey shores are known for, there are of course the notorious casinos. Alongside the well known casinos of Atlantic City, New Jersey are also casinos around Philadelphia, even closer to Mt. Laurel where Rowan College at Burlington County is than the beaches. For some crowds visiting the casinos, they might spend a few hours of a weekend there to enjoy themselves for entertainment purposes and count their wins and losses.
The Las Vegas and Atlantic City locations have lost revenues in recent years. In addition to the economic slowdown, these gambling locations are also facing new competitors in the market that are providing attractive choices to the customers. Though there are some external forces beyond their control, it seems that attractiveness and accessibility are very important focus areas for these cities.
North Myrtle Beach is known for its nightlife, and it is very youth-oriented while the southern part of the city benefits from a rather a family atmosphere. The airport has flights to the major destinations in the United States. The entertainment options range from themed theaters that are presenting musical performances and extravagant activities. On the seaside, there is an amusement park with an old-style pavilion. Plenty of entertainment is to be found at the forefront of the city, including a track for inline skates combined with an aquarium and a museum as well as Ripley's Believe It Or Not.
Atlantic City is located in New Jersey. This city is mainly known for its casinos but also consists of long, wide beaches. It has a beautiful boardwalk which is relaxing to walk across with the breeze blowing your hair. In one of the buildings, there is a small built-in mall where they have a marvelous waterfall show with colors that change. The occur frequently throughout the day. During the night time, it gets packed with adults trying to head to the casinos. Although there are many casinos for adults, the beaches attracts many families. Atlantic City has more to it than just the casinos which makes many families visit the city.
Some popular things to do there would be going golfing or riding down to the beaches. People like seeing the lighthouses and all the museums around the coast. Other things to do would be going to state parks, theme parks, and fishing.
For many years, Nevada casinos did not make much of an effort to attract the Hispanic demographic, despite the relatively large Hispanic population in the Southwest. There was a clear, underlying assumption that this demographic had little interest in casino gambling, at least not the high-stakes gambling conducted at typical Las Vegas casinos, where it is not unusual for patrons to gamble more than $1,000 in an evening, as well as see expensive 'lounge acts.' Clearly, such assumptions were erroneous given that casinos specifically catering to the Hispanic market are now flourishing in Nevada. Furthermore, because the Hispanic demographic has been so long neglected, even Hispanic leaders are not complaining that their communities are being preyed upon. These new campaigns are seen as a sign of strength of Latino buying power.
To illustrate my point, there are enough beaches in Rhode Island one could go to a different beach everyday for weeks. The cities and towns are stock full of things to do, ranging from parks, historic sites, and places to shop or swim. Only in the Ocean State can one buy a refreshing cup of Del’s lemonade or go to the Bite Me Bait store where you can get anything from keychains or clothing to fishing gear.

I've been reading about Atlantic City's history recently, checking out books from the library like Boardwalk of Dreams, The Northside : African Americans and the creation of Atlantic City, and Casino gaming in Atlantic City : a thirty year retrospective, 1978-2008. I'm trying to figure out why the South Inlet looks like a 50 year old urban renewal project that ran out of cement 40 years ago, while the casinos have raked in $120 billion dollars over the last 35 years. Riding down Pacific Avenue near the lighthouse you see whole blocks cleared out with an occasional house sticking out, some new construction, and a few stray tourists who got lost and wandered off the Boardwalk.

Las Vegas is home to some of the most profitable clubs and casinos in the entire world. Many of these firms manage to profit exorbitantly despite residing in markets that have some competitive characteristics (such as fragmented industry and relatively undifferentiated products). Although both types of firms are often very successful, there are stark differences between the two. One significant difference between clubs and casinos is the price of alcohol. At Vegas casinos drinks are typically very cheap (often times even complimentary), but at clubs across the street they are quite expensive. Naturally, one might ask why this difference in prices exist. Fortunately, with a little bit of information and the application of a few basic economic concepts the answer to this question becomes quite apparent.

David L. from Longbrook, Massachusetts. A huge menu of home-cooked favorites and a fun sporty atmosphere. The Sand bar and Grill features live entertainment every weekend.
I think casinos are a bad thing for Sioux City because people just go and waste their money on alcohol and rigged games. Usually, when someone comes home from a casino, they have at least half or less of the money they left with. People drink, gamble, and probably fight too. My solution would be to raise the minimum age that you could go to a casino so that less people would go. There are at least four casinos in Sioux City. Hard Rock being the most commonly known. Maybe there will be more in the future. I don’t have any personal experience with casinos, but my dad used to work at one until they closed down. When I was younger, I didn’t know that the casino games were casino games. I just thought they were arcade games. My dad wouldn’t let
