Fantasy sports have also been used by people as one way of escaping from their routine or normal life. When playing fantasy sports, people get fun and pleasure. This fun and pleasure lead to the achievement of escape. Besides, participants of the fantasy sport can develop a sense of achievement. This is done when the participants’ fantasy sports team defeats other teams belonging to other members. Further, this sense of achievement encourages the participant to research further so as he or she can get relevant information that will aid in the improvement of the team performance. John Swales proposes six defining characteristics that are necessary and sufficient for identifying a group of individuals as a discourse community.
