Macbeth is of a brave and capable warrior initially the first time that we see him. However, once we see Macbeth and the three witches together, we begin to realize that his physical courage is joined by a consuming mind boggling ambition and a tendency to self-doubt. The crusade’s mission is to place the rightful king, Malcolm, on the throne, but Macduff also desires vengeance for Macbeth’s murder of Macduff’s wife and young son. Macbeth is easily tempted into murder to fulfill his ambitions to the throne. Once he commits his first crime and is crowned King of Scotland. When Macduff finds out that Macbeth killed Duncan he plans to kill Macbeth and take his head to Malcolm. Banquo helped Duncan to claim victory over Norway and to become the Thane of Cawdor. They all are loyal to Duncan at some point, although Macduff and Banquo are doing the right things for Duncan, Macbeth is thinking of himself and is doing things so he will be the new King of Scotland. Macbeth is the play’s villain because he is betraying Duncan and trying to hide everything so he will be king.

     The character Macbeth in the story of Shakespeare’s Macbeth faces decisions that affect his morals. He begins as an innocent soul, dedicated to serve his kingdom and its king, Duncan. As time passes and opportunities present themselves combined with the deception of the evil witches, Macbeth begins his descent into madness. Macbeth’s innocence and loyalty are completely corrupted due to his over confidence, guilty conscience, and the inevitability of human nature. Macbeth looses sight of what is morally right to do in life because his logical choices are changed by these factors.

Shakespeare’s play ‘Macbeth’ is about the leading male protagonist succumbing to his ambition and need for power. Though Macbeth is liable for his own actions, he is not solely responsible for the events that eventually result in his downfall. Macbeth is corrupted by his wife, Lady Macbeth, as well as the three weird sisters. Macbeth’s contribution towards his downfall is his strong ambitious nature. Lady Macbeth is the person who induces Macbeth to assassinate King Duncan. The three weird sisters (witches) play with Macbeth’s ambitious nature and sense of security. Macbeth’s downfall is due to himself and two external factors.

Act 3 is the most brutal and violent scene in Macbeth. Banquo, the general of King Duncan's army, is murdered. However, this wasn't an accident as it was planned by Macbeth prior to it happening. It all started when Macbeth explained to his servants why killing Banquo is a necessity, and he expounds on his reasons in a speech that he recently wrote. The motive behind this erratic idea is that Banquo's kids will eventually take over the throne because that’s what the witches predicted, and they were not wrong the first time. Anyhow, Macbeth calls in two men and orders them to kill Banquo. Of course the men question Macbeth's orders and explain to him that “We are men, my liege”(Line 94), meaning they aren’t use to killing and doing such things.

Macbeth and Banquo was coming home from battle and stumbled onto the witches. There they were given their fates, Macbeth prophecy was to be thane of Glamis, thane of Cawdor, and finally king of Scotland. As king he couldn’t be killed by anyone of woman birth and he couldn't be defeated unless the Birnam Woods march on Dunsinane. The witches were tricking and deceiving Macbeth into thinking he is invinceable.

The relationship among Macbeth and Lady Macbeth alters throughout the play Macbeth as they both in turn take on the role of the more dominant character. Their attitude to each other constantly changes throughout the play, although events in the play certainly draw Macbeth and Lady Macbeth apart their love for one another is evident throughout the play. Macbeth shows his love by saying a few compassionate words in his letter to Lady Macbeth about the meeting with the three weird sisters. Lady Macbeth shows that she cares for him by planning the murder of King Duncan so Macbeth can become king. By the end of the play Macbeth doesn’t care about his wife’s health that much, when she dies his taught was she was bound to die one day.

Sometimes not having everything that you want is a good thing because maybe when you start having more and more things you get the taste of having more things, but you want more so what does a person do? They go out and go get more and more until they eventually start hurting people and start ruining friendships. For example, in Macbeth, Macbeth wants to be King but the witches told Banquo that his son will be the kings, but the witches said Lesser than Macbeth, and greater." 1.3.14-17. the second says, "Not so happy, yet much happier." 1.3.14-17. Banquo does not believe the witches until ross comes up to Banquo and tells him what the witches said is true so eventually Macbeth finds out and the witches told him the same thing, but they did not tell Banquo and Macbeth the whole story so that plays a part in why Macbeth kills Banquo and makes the sons run away so he can be king because he started to be greedy and didn’t want no one to take the throne only him. Eventually that leads him to become evil and eventually dies at the end.

Through the prophecies of the evil beings, an insignificant seed was planted in Macbeth. That spark of wealth and fortune caused the tyrant within him to awake. Which eventually lead to his fatal death. His ambition lead him to murder, go insane and become very superstitious.

When analyzed these issues help describe the Macbeth’s relationship. They are the very issues that eventually lead to the “Great Tragedy”.
