What qualities create a teen activist? Is it their utter devotion to their cause? Their sacrifice of personal time and possibly their safety? Or, is it the way that they will work long hours on weekends while others are relaxing or watching Tv? The answer is all of them. A teen activist is a young person who will fight for a cause for the better of the community/world. They often make many sacrifices and endanger themselves to others who disagree with their cause, yet they keep fighting. These teens are willing to do whatever it takes for the benefit of people in need, and that’s what makes them so admirable.
Often times, when something is wrong, an activist cannot help but to respond. This longing to make a difference is one of the key qualities in an influential activist. For example, a completely ordinary teen named Alex Lin came across an article about e-waste in the Wall Street journal. In a video interview he says “Every long journey starts with a short step” (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Weqt0N0vxH4). That is very true, because from then on, his interest and passion kept growing. He spent hours collecting old electronics and managed to recycle 20,00 pound of e-waste that day. He formed a team and devoted his time to get a law passed in his city banning e-waste dumping. He still continues his journey and has built media centers in other parts of the world in his quest to eliminate e-waste. But, just like many others, he won’t stop there. He
What is a teen activist? A teen activist is a teenager who wants to help people or animals for a cause. What I think about all teen activists is that they all fight for what they believe in. They go to extensive lengths to help people to help us. They don't do this because they have to they do it because they want to do it. They don't care that the odds were against them or they have very little chance of succeeding. They do what they want and the do it right. They are like the voice of the people fighting up against poverty and all the other struggles in the world. Most activists go through a lot like Malala but I won't get to deep into that yet. They all have the courage to do what they do.
Do you think being a teen activist is easy? Teen activists help the world in many ways, but it isn’t easy to fight for their cause. Teen activists persevere through any challenges they get. They are brave, and have to be good speakers to get other people’s attention. They often found organizations or teams to help them on their mission. So being a teen activist isn’t that easy. But how to fight for your cause is the hardest part. You have to find a way to get help for your cause. Teen activists use many ways to fight for their cause.
Around the world, many people are afraid to speak their minds. Teen activists inspire people. They are believers who want to change the world. They want to stand up for something that they believe in. What they do for people is very beneficial. They all have motivations for what they do. These teen activists all persevere and do all that they can to get their point out to the world. They all help people along with them selves. I noticed that they will never give up and they will try their hardest. For example, Malala was shot through the head with a bullet. Although that happened she didn't give up. Alex has been helping with the environment since he was in fifth grade. He probably went through some tough choices and difficulties,
Chapter three - How people can prevent bullying from happening. What can you do if you are the Bystander?
Teen activists are passionate about what they are working at to positively impact the world. For example, Alex Lin is a teen activist that, with his win team, helped pass a law making e-waste (electronic waste) illegal in Rhode Island. He got a desire to help his state after reading an article about how dangerous e-waste is. He saw this problem and wanted to do something about it. Alex brought some friends together and made a e-waste refurbishing and recycling team named WIN. All the students in this group were passionate about helping people get rid of old electronics, and helping the environment, and making media centers around the world with refurbished computers for developing countries. Another teen activist that shows passion is 18 year old Faye Carey. According to the article, “Teen Activist,” Faye, “volunteered at her local animal control branch.” When she was working there, she posted pictures of puppies and kittens that had to be adopted. Faye setup a Facebook account and posted
The first way that a teen can become an activist is by going through the struggle themselves. They experienced how horrible it was themselves and they wanted to make sure other people didn’t endure what they had to endure. One example of that is Malala Yousafzai. She was just a girl trying to get an education, but when the Taliban bombed her school, rather than shrinking down in fear and letting the Taliban order them around, Malala stood up for what she
Teen activists are kids who not only want to make a difference, but are brave enough to try. Teen activists are kids that do whatever they can to help the world. They are compassionate for those less fortunate, they befriend those who are in need of help, and they try to have more people to come and help. Teen activists all have one more thing in common to become a teen activist, either the activist has had personal struggles, seen someone or something have personal struggles, or they read an article.
Do you know what teen activists are? Teen activists are people who stand up for what they believe in. Just like Malala Yousafzai, Faye Carey, and Emily Rigel. Every single one of these people will have obstacles in their way but they never give up for what they think should be right in the world that makes them very brave. If you want to be a teen activist you have to accomplish all of those things.
Teen activists get help in many different ways. They get help because they know they can't do it by themselves and when there are more people more work can get done. For example you can get help from parents or other adults just like Malala Yousafzai or Alex Lin. Another way to get help is by the teen activists friends, or other teen activists willing to help two people who did that were Alex Lin and Craig Kielburger.
All teen activists change the world. For example, Malala changes the world of education. According to the interview with jon stewart and ellen, her school shut down that’s when she started. She started fighting for education around the world. The taliban didn’t like Malala. She was attacked and shot in the face and was rushed to hospital in England. The Pakistani hospital could take good enough care of her. When she was shot she refused to die and survived. The taliban didn’t stop her from fighting for children’s education. As a results, that’s how one teen activist changed the world.
To start off, the first reason why all teen activists have different traits is that they are all optimistic. For example, Alex Lin is optimistic because he wants to make the world a better place. I know this is true because according to the article “Alex Lin Teen Activist” it said that he recycles computers around the U.S. Also another teen activist Faye Carey is optimistic
Can one teen really change the world and make it a better place? At least certain teens try and that’s why we call them teen activists. Teen activists fight for a cause that is important to them and other people in similar situations, or facing similar challenges, or simply seeing an opportunity for change. They work in very different ways and use different communication channels, such as; social media, newspapers, and interviews to reach their target audience. Christopher Yao, Alex Lin, and Shawn De Angelo all started their activism as teens.
Most teen activists face some kind of problem physical or mental abuse be for or while making a difference and they get set back , but they speak out about it. Activists are people with a lot of passion and they like to take on challenges , also some get hurt in the process of helping. Then they work even harder and stand up for what is right. Also teen activists have a reason to do something good for others.Teen activists are challenged with physical / mental abuse and they stand up for it. Malala tried to get stopped by the Taliban. Iqbal was chained up to a wall making carpets. Also Alex Libby got bullied by boys at school and he still spoke out about it.
Teen activists are determined and passionate about what they believe in because they fight for what they believe in, get support in different ways, and they work in different ways. This shows they are all working to get their way to make the world peaceful. Teen Activism is when a kid either went through a tough problem or heard about the problem and wanted to set the problem right. The activist uses whatever they can to get their word out, advertisements, books, newspaper, internet, t.v, and people like their peers, parents, pets, family members, friends, and all of their fans.
Alex got a team of friends and started Team Win. The members of Team Win collected electronic waste in their home town and recycled it. So far they have collected over 333,000 electronics. Team Win knew that just doing this in their town wouldn’t solve the global problem. So they went before Congress and introduced legislation that as eventually approved that makes it a requirement to recycle electronic waste and to make it illegal to throw away in the trash. This is another great example of a teen activist.
