Chris stringer is the author of Lone Survivor How We Came to Be the Only Humans on Earth. Stringer covers a wide variety of topics in his book. He talks about the modern technology we have now that makes it easier to identify fossils, bones, dates, etc. He also mentions how the human gene became what it is today, the Homo sapien. Stringer argues that Homo sapiens did not originate in a single region of Africa. Instead, different populations coexisted across the continent with other species like Homo erectus, and they exchanged genes, tools and behavioral and survival traits before they migrated to Europe. This testing helped provide strong evidence that the shape differences between the Neanderthal skulls is very similar to the skulls of the recent primates that stringer and anthropologist Katerine Harvati used in their comparisons. This testing is important and will remain important because is always those 3D images to be displayed with great detail, on a computer screen, which scan the image, then overlay that image on top of a more recent artifact, which show the differences and similarities of the bones that are inside of us today. All throughout Stringers book, he is explaining and stating evidence that helps him prove that the Homo Sapiens didn’t all originate from Africa, like Darwin and other paleoanthropologists thought. He shows lots of pictures thorough his book which help show us how similar recent artifacts and bones are, compared to ones that were found 70,000 years ago. This is one of the tests that I found very interesting that helps prove stringers argument for the whole book. He used this test to compare the fossils found in Africa, which is where everyone said the humans originated from, and Greenland where Stringer thought we may have come
